This is probably one of my favourite interviews!!! He went on this show again in 1974, unfortunately he was struggling with addiction at this time and it’s interesting how much coceain can effect your personality. It really shows if you compere this interview with the one he did a couple years later. David was a wonderful human being and I love him with all my heart ❤❤
Poor David was a sensitive soul and I am really happy that he spent his last years with his wife and children (he was always very close to his son Duncan Zowie Jones) I think his marriage to Iman was the best thing that happened to him after Duncan/Zowie's birth. I am so glad that he finally attained the happiness he deserved as he was a really nice, deeply thoughful guy and he changed so many of our lives for the better. R.I.P. David Robert Jones (Bowie).
Brilliant interview. Wish i could see the visuals. I think a lot of people really misunderstand the famous russel harty interviews. I love both of them - interesting conversations between two highly intelligent men.
Very rare to hear this full interview, usually it's the Russell Harty Pops, looking back at clips of old series, as seen at the begining here. I still remember this very well (pre home video days). Bowie said years later "I camped it up on that programme". He wasn't naturally camp, as we seen for many years later. Bowie R.I.P.
I would have just loved one kiss.l I have his lips on paper, it says " Lips part like silence set for an alarm." I think that's what he wrote. Ugh! I wish I'd gotten it in person. His teeth, crooked and split were so damn sexy. I love him so much it does not feel like he died.
“...yes, everything hurts me very much, I’m quite sensitive...” well, 15-20% of the population is (and it’s the same with the higher order animals) and they are very much needed to keep things balanced. You’d expect a star to be grandiose and claim all criticism rolls right off of them leaving them unharmed. I’m glad he was honest about his sensitivity. There are a great many books on the topic available. A very informative and a great starter book is, “The Highly Sensitive Person” by, Dr Elaine Aron and I believe there are up to 20 more “me too” books on the valuable topic. This Dr went on to write more books about it too. It takes real strength to be yourself and be different and not a crowd follower. To set out with original ideas although he is always claiming to steal ideas I think that by just observing his life, his style, his message, he proved to be way ahead of his time and a trend setter who morphed as it suited him. In his album Station to Station you’ll find song lyrics that are blatantly more Christian than he appears to be here and that is probably because people change.
one can easily see DB's contempt for Russell Harty, he did ask some ridiculous questions which any fool would know......frustrating for DB......hilarious for us......

This made me laugh and cry in equal measure. He was utterly adorable and honest.
I love the way he laughs
I just love bowie / his sense of humour has never faulted.
His sense of humor never changed either lol.
I can't help listening over and over. David so brilliant, and he sets RH down so cleverly. Perfect.

beautifully said. thank you Anne
Oh so true.
Thanks, its such a sad loss I still can't believe it!
“i drop my t’s sometimes” 🥺🥺
Its surprising how much more civil the host is here in comparision to the later interview in 1975 🤔
Ikr, makes me wonder what happened in between, and why Russell seemed to become so much more hostile
Bowie the actor always in actor mode directing his own particular narrative at any given time. 🙂
sweet and insightful interview, lovely

What was Russel Harty's last question ? I didn't understand it
He asked if the super shoes made him likely to fall out of bed in the morning.
+Ladee Meerkat Oh ok thank you ^^
Luckily his DIS performance on that show is right here: ruclips.net/video/zGcLw_bkh9U/видео.html
