    To add to your point do a search of how many new 2022 challengers and chargers are still on the lots. Here locally there are somewhere between 10 and 20 cars. If they can't sell these cars then selling the 2023 isn't going to be any easier.

    You are 100% right, I’ve been thinking about all of this for months, and we’re still looking at a ton of allocations. Dealers are already dropping to MSRP - I’ve seen a few around me in rich, Wall St., New York. And we’re finally starting to feel the effects of the Fed raising rates 475 bp in a year - SVB, Signature, First Republic (Credit Suisse). And yet, I have ordered a SPWB! But I know it’s a *sincerely* depreciating asset.

    I waited and got $7K knocked off the MSRP for my very desirable Sublime 2023 R/T Plus, 6-speed, paid cash for it and couldn't be happier. My first change will be a dynamic anti-theft deterrent, motor kill, and some others, just to keep the fob thieves at bay. Other upgrades that I can afford since I bought such a great deal for the car are on the way.

    Hey, brother. Good points, but there is one more factor. A LOT of dealerships are taking in cars and tucking them away. They are spreading out cars to cover the losses that will come with the EV.
    Yeah, some cars will be going down, like the 717 cars, but Scat Packs being that they are cheaper, will go up I think, and obviously the 807s will go up. Also keep in mind, peple are still hopeful that they can get that 7th Last Call. I have been telling peple, get what you can, something you can live with for a long time and enjoy it. Dont over pay but dont miss out either, because if you have to pay 30k over MSRP for a used car in 24, 25, etc, then its not a good deal.
    There are cases where dealerships will try to TANK deals on ordered cars so the buyer will walk away and they can take the car. They cant mess with the price but they can mess with a bunch of other things. Im still not done with my order, although a lot of that is on Hagerty.
    You know the saying, get scared when people get greedy and get greedy when people get scared. We are seemingly in the second part. Sure, walk away from stupid markups.
    I may do a video on which cars are the best investment cars. Not all Hemis were built equal, and its not all about HP. Collector cars are a weird biz.

I should add that, that is for the 807 widebody jailbreak chargers based on my Florida zip code. I agree with what you say. Who knows, maybe these cars really do drop in value. Best thing you could do if you tryna look at appreciation for the future is like the old cars. Buy a mid model for dodge the r/t or 392 for instance and have money set aside to buy a hellcat engine and sell for higher later by doing the engine swap if the dodge engine have or build a heavy aftermarket support. Very little hot rods these day that’s valued for the most part is swapped engined mid model car. The shell is all that matters. People turn malibus into Chevelles, Buicks cutlass get pro toured into 442. The shell is all that matters. You can put the engine.

      Don't count on interest rates going down or used car prices to keep going up. The fed is trying to reduce the amount of cash in circulation, not increase it. Everyone seems to be looking at the newest model of the hellcats, but you can get a very good one around the 2017-2019 range. And i believe you are both right and wrong about the prices not going up. The newer cars are too high of a markup to make any profits, but if you settle for one that is used and a couple years older it will probably go up in value overtime if you did not overpay for it. Look for rare colors and options when getting a hellcat rather than just the year of them. For example Theres only around 500 yellow hellcats and 20 yellow widebodys, but they only made yellow hellcats between 2017-2018.

    • @ocmotivator
      @ocmotivator  Год назад +3

      I know everyone wants to believe these mass produced, relatively unchanged for a decade, fairly cheap, cars will go up in value, but history tells us that it would take several decades and the car would need to have been unused or not driven and kept in pristine condition. I know we love these and think they’re special, but there’s just been too many made and not enough will be crashed or destroyed to suddenly make these rare cars. Too many examples of very popular last run cars that never went up that you can buy for cheap. The last runs of the H2, or the c7 vettes, Iroc Camaros, countless Cadillacs, even most of the 70’s muscle cars aren’t worth much unless they’re restored or original and those were much smaller runs, heck my Lamborghini only had 3500 made and 300 in Yellow and it’s 17 years old and still worth 1/2 of new. We gotta stop being emotional about these cars and look logically. Buy one to have fun, and expect normal depreciation, or store it for 20 years and hope you can break even on it. Even the demons have not gone up from their marked up prices they sold for and those are rare numbered unique cars.

    • @dontBugly
      @dontBugly Год назад

      @@ocmotivator although there were a lot of them made, they are also one of the most demanded and stolen vehicles on the market. Countless of videos of hellcats and scatpacks getting stolen every day, people are getting shot over a cookie-cutter car. Rappers making songs about them,Hell i used to think that depreciation would hit the hellcats as they made more, but i have been waiting for them to go down in price since 2015. I could never find one below $40k that wasnt wrecked, heavily abused or with a bad supercharger. Hell the one i got was stolen TWICE from the previous owner and got a branded title because insurance had to deem the car as a total loss because they couldnt find it for months the second time it got stolen. When they finally found it i got it for $48k with 30k miles.

    • @ocmotivator
      @ocmotivator  Год назад

      @@dontBugly I know and agree. I did a video on the theft and popularity. But in no way does that translate to one of the most over produced cars being considered rare and increasing in value. Believe me, I went through a period where I thought these would be good investments, and then I removed my emotion and looked at the empirical data and history and there’s little to no chance unless it’s kept garaged and preserved and 20 years goes by. But if you did that with any popular car it could hold its value or increase since it would be like new still.

    • @dontBugly
      @dontBugly Год назад

      @@ocmotivator oh no only the rare ones will probably go up in value. The other ones would just level out in the price range and stop after depreciation. Black hellcats are by far the most produced ones so those will probably be the first ones to drop. The prices in the future will be determined on what impression the car made on the next generation. And you are right about the old vettes, but although popular, they did not really have a major impact or impression on the younger generations.For example the classic toyota supras and nissan GTRs skyrocketed in value because they were the hero cars for fast and furious and had a large impact on a younger generation of car enthusiasts. Even though some consider the GTR as the “Japanese mustang” and highly produced in japan, it did not stop the values going up. You can also throw in the 1968-1970 chargers due to the general lee and another hero car in fast and furious. And as for Lamborghinis the Murcielago will go up in value even higher as it was also in countless songs and movies. Hell just the manual ones alone are insane in value

    Just started the video but wanted to make a note on something that I noticed about the Horsepower locator since you're on the subject.
    I've been tracking the number of RT's and it was somewhere around 4,150 total left a couple weeks ago and right after I ordered my RT it jumped up to about 4,380. A few dealers that weren't on the site suddenly were and some of the other dealers that I was tracking suddenly had one or two more allocations. I'm apparently not the only one who's noticed this either and someone else was tracking the total number of scat packs and they said the same thing happened to those.
    I just ordered an RT a week ago for about 1,000 under MSRP. I've been keeping an eye on the number of allocations at the dealer that I ordered from and it still hasn't changed even though they told me that mine is now scheduled for production. I don't know what's going on with the Horsepower locator but something seems fishy.
    As far as the dealership that I dealt with goes they've treated me well so far. They knocked about 1,000 off MSRP and they're also willing to give me a discount through my job and they'll let me use any incentives that are available when the car is delivered. So I'm hoping it'll be during the summer if they have any deals going for July 4th or memorial day

      What you have to look out for is market dilution causing swift devaluation on top of the fact that your car would have more than likely depreciated in value by simply driving it off the lot. Even a 2-3 year time horizon in this kind of environment will put your loan underwater rather quickly, ESPECIALLY with these crazy markups. Just keep that in mind. You could be stuck paying for a loan on a car that has lost 10k+ of its value and that doesn't even factor in the cash lost in paying the markup premium. If there is a ton of inventory on lots then they will be forced to reduce that markup along with the MSRP to incentivize future buyers.
      Another thing to consider is if push comes to shove then the dealerships may get even more desperate and could potentially offer in house financing that has a lower rate then you could get from a bank.
      Personally I feel like this is not a buyers market and anyone who commits to these types of loan terms and gouging is playing a game that could cost them tens of thousands of dollars. I'd much rather negotiate with a desperate bank or dealership that has to offload a bunch of repos or bloated inventory than to impulse buy at a peak knowing that the environment we're currently in isn't sustainable in the short or long term. Cars aren't investments and I think a lot of people are going to learn the hard way, ESPECIALLY when dealing with Stellantis

      Watch out...something is not right here. I'm a retired dealer and I know there is less than $2k markup in that car. Even if they sold at invoice and gave you the 3% HB, that price could not be reached. Either they are fibbing or they are getting their markup somewhere else like in accessories, financing, service contracts, etc. Look the figures over SUPER closely. However, if fantasy land has arrived and you can actually buy a $92k MSRP Monroney label car for $85k, jump on it and see if they will sell me one for that price! Move on this deal quickly once you do your due diligence.

    Challenger buyers BEWARE! The 22 and now the 23 Challengers in all models have a MAJOR manufacturing defect in assembly…….The middle door creases on both sides of the car are not aligning up with the quarter panel middle creases, especially where the door ends meeting up with the quarter panels. They are throwing these cars together just to move them out of their hair so they can retool for the electrics. There is no adjustment that can be made to fix this problem and it seems to be that there has been some glitch in either the panel sheet metal bending process or some misalignment in the unibody production. This is a class action lawsuit just waiting to happen. Even the 80,000 jailbreaks and Hellcats are misaligned!!!! Take notice and see for yourself…… They are sitting on all dealer lots….. from the SXT to the Hellcat! This is a total disgrace and disrespect to such an iconic vehicle.

    I think at first they will stay on plain or less than what you paid,but last call cars from r/t to hellcat will eventually retain and gain its value(especially plum crazy) It’s just like now if the car has low miles, original equipment, less aftermarket crap they’ll be buyers . Its just like a lifted truck with all kinds of aftermarket crap is not as easy to sell as a stock truck which is more appealing to the customer. If ya want a mopar buy one. You got one shot at life your not a cat we do not have 9 lives and if we did I’d have 9 challengers 😂

      I do wish you were right. But these are not high quality rare cars. Yes, a pristine condition low mileage car, or special edition car, will hold value or gain value over a decade or so, most of these cars will be relegated to hard driven, high volume, used and abused cars. As they should be frankly. If you want an investment buy something else. If you want fun and excitement buy one of these and just drive the hell out of it and enjoy it. If some dummy later will give you more than you paid for it then take it and run like a 🐓.

    I feel like the mindset that you're putting out in this video is only being observed by a minority of people who are being more pragmatic and less impulsive. I've had my finger on the pulse of everything that you have mentioned and it transcends beyond buying a Hellcat. Once you look at the overall landscape and take it all in you start to realize how far extended things are, how vicious the capitulation will be and how little gas there's left in the tank.
    Debt booms and busts are cyclical by nature. Macro opportunities like this only occur a handful of times in our lives. I missed the last few but am prepared to ride the wave up this time around. Imagine having a fire sale opportunity to invest but instead you're paying for a car that is eating away your spending power.

    • @ocmotivator
      @ocmotivator  Год назад +3

      I expect by August or sooner the dealers will have to place their orders on their allocated cars or risk losing them or the cars not getting built this year, so they will be ordering for their own dealer inventory if they can't find buyers to pay their prices. So they will have to choose 1. order for their own inventory or 2. Accept msrp orders without mark ups and be able to count those sales and project their revenue for the 3rd and 4th quarter. Also there may even be some standing inventory due to cancelled orders and dealer ordered cars on the lots by then. So shop around!

The Challenger-Hellcat era has been ruined by the less intelligent buttheads who feel they have to race every car on the street. The buttheads have ruined this brand, maybe forever. And the SRT Jeep has been killed. At least I still have a 2017 Jeep SRT.
