    Great vid man! I can definitely hear the different character between the 2 types of compressors. Question, what is the build quality like for Klark Teknik products? I have a couple friends who have various KT gear and they keep saying that the gear breaks quite easily (knobs, channels going out, etc). I want to know your thoughts on it!

      Hi and thanks for your question. The build quality of their products is quite good. In several of my videos I’ve opened up the units displaying what’s inside. Thanks for watching ✌🏾

      Hi and thanks for watching. The unit if set properly is quiet. It's the best bang for the buck on the market right now.

    Great video bro question is there a way to set unity gain on the kt2a?

    • @WarrenHenry
      @WarrenHenry  4 года назад

      The design of the units are not the same. Notice you only have two choices, Compress or Limit. They both have fixed ratios and your gain reduction is determined by the Peak Reduction knob. Therefore whatever signal you feed it has to go through the Peak Reduction and Output Gain knobs before being fed to your DAW. This makes it all the more important to have your preamp properly gain staged to reference- -18dbfs in your DAW. I’ve done a mini series on the topic here's a link ruclips.net/video/YFjgfBbXeEI/видео.html

    Would you recommend chaining the two together with the 1176 catching the initial peaks with the 2A smoothing out what’s left behind?

    • @WarrenHenry
      @WarrenHenry  3 года назад +1

      Yes that’s common practice in some situations. Thanks for watching ✌🏾

      @@WarrenHenry thanks for the quick response Warren! You’re my favourite engineer for advice and it’s delivered in an easy to understand way. I’ve been experimenting with using outboard compression into my 1/4 inch Fostex tape machine and having a lot of fun but I don’t know what I’m doing at all! You’re work is highly valuable! God bless!
