So overall, how did you find the RPM tune? what features did you get like pop and bangs, sport button, earlier fan run? Do they run smooth on city driving like 50, 60, 70 km/hr speeds? Any engine check lite? Would appreciate your thoughts on this like the stage 2 which am qualified..thanks
The tune has been great, i didn’t get any extra features, just basic stage 3. My car drives better in every RPM range then it did before. I haven’t found a single down side to the tune
For Stage 2 with Intercooler, Plugs and Catless Downpipe, how do you pass Smog in CA? Do you change the tune and Downpipe when you have to get inspected?
How much is the remote tune like you was talking about in this video u kinda ran out of time in your video to cover all that thanks for all the good info
@@Shelltidalwave I did. The guy that did the tune for me said it was fine but recommended a 200 cell car if I decided to not go catless (which is what I did). Same performance and keeps the noise a bit more refined in my opinion. Cuts down on some of the smell as well.
At what point is a limited slip differential required? I'm afraid to do stage 1 on my R55 JCW without LSD cause I'm not sure how my front wheels will behave.
hey man. great channel 👍🏽👍🏽 I own a 2013 mini cooper R56 ... The car drives fine from 0-140km. Beyond that, I get a yellow check engine light and the car goes into limp mode. No one seems to know what is wrong. Have you ever encountered something similar ?
@@andypeers9903 The guys who were working on the car said they are getting charge pressure faults. So the turbo is not building enough pressure or maintaining the pressure at high rpm. They initially thought the vacuum system and/or actuator system were at fault but they are fine but the issue persists. Right now they don't know what is wrong with the car. They sent me a quote for a new turbo at R51 000 and fuel pump at R7000 which is a lot of money in South Africa, especially for a 10yo mini. Hope this helps somehow. If you resolve the issue please let me know.
I had this problem exactly. Turns out it was the wastegate pipe split. £1 fix. It’s under the turbo, remove the air intake to turbo pipe to the right of the turbo and you’ll see a very thin black rubber pipe. That’s the problem!
