Is that like Amazon? A few months ago they had tons of boxes for 370ish which is very expensive but seemed like a great deal, I did pick up 2 then. I had purchased 2 other boxes previously at below 300 when it came out. I did put one box up for sale on eBay since the spike in price which will pretty much pay for all my Lord of the Rings boxes by just selling the single one. So I definitely hope to take advantage of this price spike.
@1sandyfrank1 yes anyone who sells product online where you cannot purchase directly from the source. I would love to buy products from wotc however they want the black market. It drives up profits especially if they buy back product sold to these companies Amazon ebay etc they resell on those same markets. If you purchase multiples with the intent to profit and gain you are apart of the problem. Let other people afford the chance to participate.
Whatnot/tiktok/etc. have escalated prices of this crap to ridiculous numbers. Theres dozens of people trying to buy pallets of crap to rip live, others buying pallets of crap to horde hoping they can sell back for double at a later date. I wish they would've stuck to sports cards instead of infesting the TCG space where people actually use this product to have fun instead of stare at like investor pieces.
@Blue_Narciss yep. I agree 100% just a lot of selfish people nowadays in the world. Media is training people to horde. Instead of just enjoying your life. They want us to suffer. This is bigger than just tcg obviously.
I think the LOTR boxes are more immune to that because alot of LOTR fans want to collect The One Ring cards. If it gets banned I am going in and scooping The One Rings variants I do not have in my collection. I don't play the game, so I don't care about cards getting banned and I would bet this set has more collectors than pretty much any modern set.
It’s only expensive because ALL Modern format decks need 4 copies. A modern ban will tank the price and will happen because it’s in ALL decks. Lord of the Rings is just a story about walking and its fans are not responsible for shit in MTG.
Those CZX Middle Earth cards are only going to go up in value as well, especially the Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, John Rhys Davies, and Orlando Bloom autograph cards. The LOTR Trilogy continues to age like fine wine, and the cards will only continue to rise in value.
Problem as well is dropshippers who buy in bulk when it's affordable. And drive the price up when it's convenient for them.

Except the one ring will get banned and value drop by 50% sell now while you can.

@alexandercastleberry480 lotr is a story about walking?
With such a narrow view like that it's surprising you can see at all.
Why did you buy the fake? It’s in elvish so it’s shit as a proxy.
