I had signed up for a free Sharp tools account some time ago, but never tried to set it up, and use it before last night. Last night watching your video, "Why I need sharp tools," I was able to set it up, and make a dashboard with a few working tiles. I was really pleased that it was successful, so tonight I watched your video, "Fully Kiosk Browser on Amazon Fire Tablet & Sharp Tools Dashboard. I had to pause, and restart the video a few times, but I ended up with a fully working Kiosk Browser with Sharp Tools dashboard on my amazon fire tablet. Your video's are amazingly instructive, and easy to follow. I can't wait to show to my wife, and to friends that come by.
Awesome! Now you are using one of the best Smart Home addons! Be sure to check out the Rules Engine. In the future these rules may even run locally so not only will the be blazing fast but will work without internet if your devices are also local. The Rules Engine is also unlimited now for free! I have many more videos coming just trying to squeeze them in with family time and full time work!
Thank you for the tutorial, I have been loving mine setup on the Show Cradle. I have mine in my bedroom though and even with brightness set to 0 it still lights up the room. I was wondering if you could do a video or step by step on rooting the HD8 to be able to fully turn the screen off, or any work around other than having to lay it face down every night. I really appreciate it!
I will look into it. I think there are probably a bunch of videos out there showing you how to root a device. I don’t think I will be making those because he could potentially damage your device. There might be a way to do this using the fully kiosk browser.
@@SimplySmart123 That's cool, I understand about not wanting to do a root video, I just don't know what to do after it was rooted. I heard there's a way of doing it with fully kiosk and a normal android tablet, but just not with a typical fire setup. Thank you again!
This is really cool. Can this be used to automate timers for an indoor hydroponic garden? I need a controller for timers for lights, nutrient pumps and sensors for temperature regulating etc
Ugh. Reformatted my kindle and went through alllll this, to learn at the end that it doesn’t seem like any of this is possible without a smartthings (or another) hub.
Yes you will need a SharpTools account and a SmartThings account with a hub to connect all of your devices and control them. Check out the three simple steps to building the ultimate our home in the video description. Sharp tools as a bonus step.
Great video. Do you have a video showing how you set up the garage door status. I have MyQ for my Chamberlain door which does not work with Smartthings.
I think if you install that smart app that I suggested it will do all of that stuff for you. Not sure if it has the ability to know if the door is open or closed but you can use a Smartthings multi-purpose sensor for that. Once you installed in MyQ SmartApp you should be able to do what you want to do using SmartThings.
Justin have you done this on an iPad. Has anyone done this on an iPad. Fully isn’t available for IOS. Justin keep the videos coming, the are great. Thanks
Yea you would need another program for an iPad. You can try this one: www.kioskproapp.com/ Or you can do the the add to home screen method: ruclips.net/video/It_edEI1hBc/видео.html

I’m not sure the cost of the licenses but they are very inexpensive and it’s only a one time payment. You will need one for each device as they are linked to a device. Glad you are enjoying the channel and my content!

Yes, you can display Google Calendar (and a variety of other calendar types) in your SharpTools.io dashboard - check out the following help article for detailed instructions: help.sharptools.io/portal/kb/articles/how-to-use-google-calendar-in-calendar-tiles
For sure! I have also reached out to SharpTools to provide more information if needed. help.sharptools.io/portal/kb/articles/how-to-use-google-calendar-in-calendar-tiles
Hello thank you for the video. I am new to all this I followed all your instruction as stated in the video on two new Amazon Fire 10 HD tables. Everything worked on one of the table but one of them I am getting a Dashboard not Found message with a blinky packman ghost and under the ghost i have two small blue windows one with an arrow facing to the left side with DASHBOARD LIST and the other one said CHANGE LOGIN. I did everything exactly on both tablets. Can you help Thank you
Do you have a recommendation for a 8 tablet? I like to dedicate a tablet for wall mount but I think a 10” will be too big, so far seem I unable to find a 8 with a good resolution, under the 10 are ton of options , maybe there is no 1920 resolution for 8”?
Hello and thank you for your videos. I have two Fire tablets wall mounted and have sucessfully used the tools per your previous video to remove the Amazon apps and install Google Play store etc... Now my questions is, should I now install fully Kiosk browser and sharpytools to do my dashboard if I don't use a hub like smart things or Habitat. Right now, I just use Google home on my phones and google speakers to control everything. My main question is where should I go from here if I don't use a hub so that I can make a dashboard? Thank you in advance for your advice.
For you to use your Sharptools you will definitely have to have a hub. It will bring all of your devices together and allow you to create custom dashboards and rules. It is the second step of creating the ultimate smart home. Otherwise you might be able to use the Google app on your tablets and get some control but it will be kind of basic.
I recommend SmartThings because it is the easiest to use and what most of my videos are based on. Last I checked the hubs are available and there is a link in the video description. The hubs are now made by Aeotec.
How do i download fully kiosk browser from thier website? All i see is try from google play store. But im on a fire tablet. And no.links for the apk files. Am i missing something here?
Where did I go wrong? It is pulling up the Login page for Sharp tools. I also do not have the screen that you have at 6:08. I downloaded Fully Kiosk Browser APK ver. 1.37 (for Fire OS). I have a Fire HD 8 (8th Gen)
I think you can just turn of the screen saver and it should just stay on all of the time. Only bad thing is it could damage you display if it’s on the same thing day after day. I have a new video coming out with better settings and a really cool live screen saver.
So does this integrate SmartThings and anything that is only via echo on to a dashboard? I have some wifi devices I’d like to get on a single dashboard.
For you to use sharp tools you must have all of your devices in smart things. So this probably will not be a good solution for you because most of Wi-Fi devices do not connect to smart things.
Are you asking if you can use hands-free Alexa on your fire tablet while using SharpTools? The answer to that question is yes! Alexa Routines will not show up in SharpTools. Alexa routines are only held within Alexa.
Yes. That is why we recommend SmartThings because is more plug and play but Hubitat will be great when you get it setup. It works 100% with SharpTools so you will have the option of amazing dashboards and the Rules Engine!

Does the Fully Kiosk have a setting to don't have the battery charging all the time? just when it's need?
I don’t think that’s possible because that is a core function of the tablet 😕
How can I exit
Slide from the left to get to the menu. You should also be able to slide from the top or bottom to get to Fire Options.

where is the usage acess option in fire 7th generation
