@@bogdanadzic9305 Clearly a comment from someone who hasn't watched much tennis. There have been many Alkaraz style players over the years. He's the best of his peer group and a stunning player but nothing new. Plus, players have started to read his game. At the present time, he simply can't find the physical and more importantly, the mental strength to cope with the huge and ridiculous expectations put on his shoulders. Plus, it makes other players feel slighted for being overlooked, and therefore try much harder when playing him. Before Zverev's injury, he hammered Alcaraz because he was so pumped and incensed with reporters asking about 'Alkaraz' during his post match press conference and phenomenal win, prior to beating Alcaraz. He retorted and I'm paraphrasing "I'm here you know and won't be ignored as a contender!". He was hacked off, as imagine other players are too. Cry more and more, the same justifications that Novak won the 2014 ATP World Tour Finals due to Federer's walkover, but the next year Federer attended the final of 2015 ATP World Tour Final and received his usual defeat from Djokovic, with a result 3-6, 4-6 . As for Alcaraz, whom you describe that he is in his prime, His case will be exactly like that of Tsitsipas, Alcaraz and Djokovic met once, and those who are salty with Novak consider this match as a measure of Alcaraz's superiority, which is very stupid. Tsitsipas in the first 3 meetings with Novak had the advantage 2-1, but because Novak is Novak, he was able to dig the way Tsitsipas played and so defeated him 8 consecutive meetings so far, and the same is the case with Medvedev after the 2021 US Open final. And I'm sure Novak will put Alcaraz in his pocket if he meets him more than once again. The evidence for not taking one match as a criterion is that Alcaraz defeated Zverev in the final of Madrid. Two weeks later, Zverev was the one who defeated Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros because Zverev was more experienced and decisive that time

Can't believe he only won 1 master. On the other hand, Delpo hit many good forehands here and still Novak defended them all. Wow.

@@JonathanSTW I'm not going to write down his medical history because you can look it up, but he did deal with injuries/illness over that time of year for 4 years in a row. Most times it seemed more down to fatigue tbh. With how close the Finals always is to Paris, I think if you've had a successful indoor season it's easy to be fatigued for the WTF. Obviously in his youth we'd see Djokovic do the Shanghai/Paris/WTF triple multiple times , but since young guys like Zverev, Tsitsipas and Medvedev have come along the Finals have been super competitive. This tournament is a young man's game, playing 5 matches against the top 8 back to back at the end of a long season. This year it could be said that his forced inactivity helped him for the indoor swing, as he was able to win two tournaments and go the distance in Paris and still be relatively fresh.
