I just got back from Japan and will post some of the climbing I did there on my RUclips (in a few weeks)
wish there was some interviews with the local japanese people, would be insightful into a different culture
Good luck finding someone willing to participate in an interview in this different culture

Ha, my local gym! I remember that yellow holds / silver tape problem very well. Took me more tries than I'm willing to admit.

Are you allowed to use the climbing walls there if you have tattoos? I went a few years ago to Japan and couldn’t use normal gyms with tattoos showing. I guess just incase I was a 6’3 blonde English yakuza?

I spent most of my time at the climbing gyms in Japan working out the routes 😂 the smaller gyms routes are packed so close.
B pump Tokyo was the easiest for westerners. But I found the gyms didn’t do day passes so I spent lots of money on signing up!! 😅
Their lead routes were incredible! And for those mentioning masks…relax you’re not forced to wear one whilst watching this video 😅😂
May I ask what you mean by easiest for westerners? Do you mean the sign up process or the actual climbing. And if its the actual climbing is it the setting style or do you consider it softer in the grades? I am planning on traveling to japan soon and I would love to check out B pump ogikubo because, well, its like the most famous bouldering gym ever lol.
@@mrmonsterhunter808 so it’s easy to sign in, the people are friendly and helpful and the grades/routes are easy to understand too. It’s most like the gyms we have here in the UK too.
The B pump Akihabara is the easiest, I also went to Ogikubo one too and was more comp style

@@mrmonsterhunter808 b pump is everything other than soft dont worry, the grades are like two grades harder than in the west at least in my experience

@@abelabel3664 I don't care if people wear masks, I just find it fascinating that people still require it, hence it is still an issue for some and not a "non-issue" like you suggest.
@@senorblondie It is like assuming requiring people to wear something more than underwear in public is an "issue". Different cultures have different hygiene standards and habits.
What is "fascinating" about it? What makes that more relevant than every other aspect of the video?

@@Greesher getting bent out of shape? btw. it is not "a person" all of them are wearing masks. I am questioning why, the pandemic is over my friend.
@@Intrud0r Unfortunately, the pandemic isn't over; there's an ongoing wave of infections in China and much of Asia; and masks are an effective public policy to limit spread of infectious virions and protect individuals. It's become a weird political thing in the US, but it's still seen as a reasonable tool everywhere else. Hope that helps.
@@thesii213 Unfortunately it's been studied thoroughly since C19 and proven masking did nothing to stop or reduce the spread, especially since C19 and it's variants are spread by aerosols which easily escape masks widely used in general populations.
