So sad to see all of the empty spaces in the Illinois Center Pedway now. I used to work at 303 E Wacker from 2012-2016 and it was always so busy down there, and no vacancies in the Illinois Center. Great video showcasing the Pedway! I miss it.
Although it's not comparable with others underground cities, like Toronto PATH or Montreal RESO, Chicago Pedway is a very beautiful and useful underground walkway network.
I have 7 years away from my wonderful city of Chicago, now when I have the chance to visit I will go as a turist since I do not know any of these underground places. 😊
If you take a left in City Hall and go across Washington Street there's another pedway South ,parallel to LaSalle Street That I used to take to get to my high school central YMCA At 19 South LaSalle
How was this facility financed? Through taxes, local merchants, or charging folks who use the walkways? A combination of such things? It's a great idea, as shelter from the weather and overall motor traffic might encourage more people to walk rather than drive to work or to shop.
I've been to Chicago many times and had no idea that this existed. Cool.
I didn’t know either, until now. Very cool

I used to explore the Pedway as a kid back in the early nineties. I was always fascinated by how far you could walk without going outside.
Nice walk 👍

This just feels like backrooms irl
Nice video, never walked the Pedway from Lake St. to the Radisson Blue. You basically ended your tour just a few blocks away from where you started.
This is helpful. Thanks!
A lot like Canary Wharf in london, now I know where they got there idea from, but not as big
The World Trade Center also has this feature.

Building owners built portions in different segments. It’s almost entirely privately owned segments
Just a bunch of different buildings participating in the maze.
Why are the security questioning you? Are people not allowed film the Pedway?
does union station connect to the pedway?
No, from Millenium Station both the #151 Westbound CTA bus or ride the CTA green line westbound from Washington & Wabash to Clinton for Union Station.
Cook county building then City hall your detour Cook county administration building. I worked there for 30 years.
Thanks for the video. What time of day was it filmed?
Anybody want to play the subway drinking game?
When the people got off the train they were watching their backs hard. Nice tour!
Thanks!
