      Yes, you'd think they would clear a parade route of vehicles, like we do here in the US.

    • @nordiskkatt
      @nordiskkatt Год назад +8

      @@donbrynelsen2157 It's not really a parade in the usual sense of the word - it's a changing of the royal guard, and the new shift walks through the public streets from the barracks to the palace. It happens every day in summer, and the streets are in constant use since it's right in the middle of the city centre. The guards would make themselves very unpopular very quickly if their presence required the city to stop its usual life!

      @@janhansen554 sure, watch the cymbalist at 13:17 and on... what he is doing is called 'twirl doubles' ....the twirling rudiment is artful in that it requires a particular skill and precision to do that, AND march, AND keep in time all while playing the song. He is meticulously counting, and listening, and marching, and reciting, and performing.... and is he hella-good at it! That entire drum routine is drilled-down hard.

    The Turks know us and the Swedes,
    And the light is known about us,
    On battles, on victories
    We are always led by the King himself.
    He shares His work with us,
    He is in front of us in battles;
    Every one of us considers happiness
    To die in His eyes.
    Our grandfathers were glorious, -
    both the Swede and Lyakh remember them;
    The eagle of victory soared them
    On the Poltava fields.
    The banner of their regiment captivates
    The Russian bayonet is our fighting one;
    He reminds us too,
    How the grandfathers went into battle!
    Our faceted bayonet is still firm,
    The voice of honor has not stopped.
    How will we go forward gloriously,
    Forward, glorious Russian regiment.
    To the Sovereigns by oath
    Our regiment has always been loyal, -
    In the field of battle, without being timid,
    Breast serves always.
    As before - dashing,
    We are glad to amuse the Tsar,
    And the soldiers are fighting
    They will be glorious forever, hooray!
    1800s March of the Preobrazhensky Regiment
    The Great Russian Empire

    George Gordon Byron Mazepa
    I
    He died - Poltava terrible battle,
    When the Swede was thrown with happiness;
    Around the shelves lie a ridge:
    They have no more battles and blood.
    Victorious Laurel and the power of war
    (That they lie like their slave, man)
    They went to the King, and were saved
    Shafts of Moscow… But not forever:
    Until the day that is more bitter and gloomy,
    Up to a year, all other black,
    When power will be replaced by shame
    The strongest enemy, the most glorious leader,
    And the thunder of the crash, the glory of the sunset,
    Having crushed one, they will strike the world with lightning!
    II
    The game of fate! Karl day and night,
    Wounded, must rush away
    Through the waters of rivers and the breadth of fields, -
    In the blood of his subjects and in his own:
    The whole regiment, who broke the way, died,
    And yet there was no reproach
    To the vain man - in the hour when he fell
    And he did not frighten the truth with the power.
    Gieta gave in to Karl
    Horse - and Russian captivity dragged,
    And died. That horse, many leagues
    Rushing briskly, suddenly drooped
    And fell. In the wilderness, where the darkness
    Wrapped around the pursuer-the enemy
    Ring of sentry lights,
    Exhausted, the king stuck.
    Here is the laurel! Here's a rest! - And for them
    Do nations endure oppression and pain?
    Exhausted to the point of death,
    Under the wild oak he lies down;
    There is blood on the wounds, and ice in the veins;
    The damp darkness floats above him;
    Chills that shook the body,
    I didn 't give you a chance to eat with sleep
    And yet, as kings should,
    Charles endured everything, harsh and straight,
    And in extreme troubles, beyond strength,
    Suffering - he subordinated to the will,
    And they submitted in full,
    How the tribes submitted!
    III
    Where are the generals? Not enough of them
    Gone from the fight! A handful of the living
    Remained, knightly honor
    Keeping it as before, with him -
    And everyone is in a hurry to sit down on the ground
    Around the king with his horse:
    Animals and people always
    Trouble makes friends.
    Mazeppa is also here. Ancient oak,
    As he himself is old, harsh and rude,
    Gave him shelter; calm, brave,
    The Prince of Ukraine did not want
    Lie down, even though I was doubly exhausted,
    Without taking care of the horse:
    Cossack Hetman unsaddled
    I combed his mane too,
    And cleaned, and laid
    He leaves, and I'm glad that he
    He began to eat grass, but first he
    He was afraid that he would scare away
    Horse dewy grass;
    But, like himself, unpretentious
    There was a horse both to the bed and to the food;
    Always obedient, though playful,
    He was ready for anything, everywhere;
    Quite a "Tatar" - fast, strong,
    Shaggy - Mazeppa everywhere he is
    Wore; knew the voice: went to the call,
    Recognizing among thousands of voices;
    Be the night starless around, -
    He was racing towards a familiar sound;
    He's from dusk to dawn
    I would have run after the kid!
    IV
    Having done everything, Mazeppa's cloak is his own
    Postlal; a spear about a steep oak
    Operat; checked - is it good
    The road was taken out by a pistol,
    And is there gunpowder under the trigger,
    And does the clamp hold tight
    Flint, and is the sheath strong
    Fixed on the belt;
    Then only this gray-haired man
    Took out of the bag behind the saddle
    Your dinner, meager and simple;
    He offers the king
    And to all who are near, eat your
    More worthy than a courtesan,
    By whom the holiday in honor of the monarch is given.
    And Karl takes it with a smile
    A piece of his poor - and gives
    To understand that he is stronger in soul
    And wounds, and their troubles.
    He said, "Every one of us has revealed
    A lot of valor and strength
    In battles and in marches; but he could
    Give less words and more deeds
    Only you, Mazeppa! Sharp eyes
    From the days of Alexander until now
    I wouldn 't have found such a good pair,
    Than you and this Bucephalus.
    You have eclipsed all the Scythians, horse
    Driving through the beams and fields." -
    "Damn my school,
    Where did I learn to ride!" -
    "But why,- Karl said, -
    Since you have become so skilled?" -
    In response Mazepa: "A long tale;
    There is still a long way waiting for us,
    Where, every step, the enemy lurks, -
    There are five rubaks per one;
    Horses and we are not afraid of captivity,
    Let's just go beyond Borysthenes.
    And you are tired; everyone is at peace
    Needed; as a sentry
    I will be with you." - "No; please
    Tell us," said the king, -
    Your story in full;
    Perhaps she will also fall asleep
    She would have helped me, but now
    I cannot close my eyes with drowsiness."
    "If so, my lord, I am ready
    Shake up all the seventies,
    What I remember. Twenty years old to me... yes…
    So, so... was the king then
    Jan Kazimir. And I'm with him
    He was a page from childhood.
    Monarch he was a scientist, - well…
    But I am not like you, Sire:
    He did not lead wars, foreign lands
    I did not take them, so that they would not be repulsed;
    And (if you don't count the Sejm)
    An obscene grace
    I was with him. And he knew the sorrow:
    He adored muses and women,
    And those are sometimes obnoxious so,
    What about the war sighed the poor man,
    But the anger subsided - and suddenly new
    He was looking for books, looking for girlfriends.
    He gave balls without end,
    And all of Warsaw is at the palace
    Converged - to admire there
    To a magnificent host of princes and ladies.
    How the Polish Solomon is sung
    He was; there was still a poet
    Without pension: he 's at the end
    He scribbled satire as a "non-flatterer.
    " Well, the yard! Pyramus - lost account;
    Any court rhymer;
    I composed poems myself - piit! -
    Giving the signature "Woeful Tirsit".
    There was a certain count there, all the others
    were more ancient and noble,
    Richer than salt mines
    Or silver ones. Mine
    He was proud of his nobility so,
    As if the sky had a brother - in - law;
    He was reputed to be so noble and rich,
    Who could claim the throne;
    For so long he fixed his gaze
    On the charter, on the brilliance of the Chambers,
    So far, all the exploits of the family,
    In a half-crazed oblivion,
    He did not consider them his own.
    His wife did not agree with him:
    Thirty years younger than him,
    She languished hourly
    Under the yoke of her husband; passions in her
    They were boiling every day, stronger;
    Hope... fear... and now a tear
    She said goodbye to purity:
    A dream, another; the tenderness of the look
    Yuntsov varshavsky, serenade,
    Languid dance is all that is needed,
    To the coldest wife
    She became tender to her husband,
    Giving him a wonderful title,
    What introduces you to the Angelic Chapter;
    But it's strange: very rarely that,
    Whoever deserves it will brag.
    V
    "I was very handsome then;
    Now over seventy years old
    Stepped, - should I be afraid of words?
    A few husbands and youngsters, -
    Vassals, knights, -
    beauty could argue with me.
    I was frisky, young and strong,
    Not like today - not bent,
    Not worn out in the change of years,
    Worries and wars that have erased the trace
    My soul from the face; me
    Relatives would not be able to admit it,
    Meet me and compare
    Both past and present days.
    Besides , it wasn 't old age that chose
    The smoothness of the brow with its page;
    Not to cope as long as she
    With my mind and with my cheerfulness, -
    Otherwise it would be at this late hour
    Could I drive for you
    Under the black sky is my story.
    But then... the shadow of Teresa - here:
    There, behind the nut bush that,
    How would she be floating now -
    So clear in memory!
    And yet there are no words, no strength
    To describe the one I loved!
    There was the gaze of her Asian eyes
    (Turkish blood with Polish blood here
    Sometimes it gives such a mixture)
    Darker than the sky at this hour,
    But a gentle light flowed in it,
    Like the moonlight in the forest at night.
    Wide, dark, moist, - he
    He was dissolved in his rays,
    All sadness and flame, like a gaze
    At the martyrs, what, at the stake
    Having ascended, they look at the sky like this,
    It's like they're thanking death.
    His forehead was as clear as a summer pond,
    The beam penetrated to the bottom,
    When the waves do not splash,
    And the height of the heavens is reflected.
    Face and mouth… But what to talk about?
    I love her as much as I loved her!
    People like me, love fervor
    Does not get tired of tormenting all his life,
    Through pain and anger - we love!
    And the ghost of the past from the darkness
    Comes to us in the declining years,
    And - after Mazepa wanders after.

    Found it by chance.
    I knew the Norwegian Guards are as good as the British at ceremonial duty. The British never have obstacles. Additional scores British: 0 Norwegian: 1
    Music is a draw. Norwegian are as great as British. British have a advantage: Pipes!. On the other hand: Pipes for not Scott Units is …Norway use Horns. It fits for Infantry specially for Light.
    Drum sound for march is awesome.
    Another thump up for the spectaculars: An example for all.
    Quality of recording is superior! Video and Sound is excellent. No idea how it was possible. 10+ Stars!
    I need to see this personal

    I can appreciate their hard work, but the effect is somewhat lessened by the need to separate onto the sidewalk and back again.
