I sold a couple of keyboards to justify buying the Sonnet in this configuration. I built one last November and can still remember how impressed I was from the unboxing experience, how easy/straightforward it was to put together, and the sound. I went back and forth since then on buying one, and finally pulled the trigger. The green is such a nice color, and it pairs very well with the multicolor accent and copper bottom. Unboxing this and building it still left me just as impressed as I was 5 months ago; I regret not getting this sooner. Originally, I was going to build this with Pink Robins; however, I figured I would try good old MX Blacks on Alu. It sounds pretty good, and the spacebar is nice and crisp. There is some hollowness/pinging in the alphas; however, it's not really noticeable in person as compared to in the video. It is very noticeable at the modifiers though. I'm not spamming those during normal typing, so I don't really care too much about that. I guess it might be more acceptable if I paid for the cheapest, base configuration; however, at almost $700 for this configuration, the pinging/hollowness might make you feel irritated. Nonetheless, I still love this board. The fact that it's in stock, and that there are several options for you to customize the board to your liking, is awesome. I really wish this was around when I first got into the hobby. Mode Designs is doing great things in this hobby, and I'm happy to support their business. Last time, I said that I would be happy with the Sonnet as my only keyboard. I think that comment still stands true for me.
Anyways, I'll try stack mount at a later point (which should remove the hollowness/pinging), and then try the Pink Robins.

    top row sounds hollow?

Nice! Yep there's also some hollowness in my alphas as well, even with the plate foam and pom plate. You can refer to my vid but the mic does not really pick it up. The classic mx blacks on alu sounds super crisp here, think I'll rebuild with an alu plate as well.
Side note i saw you have a kohaku in your prev vid, would you say mx blacks on alu is still the best config? I won r2 so just thinking of what to get

Congrats on the W! Yeah, imo MX Blacks on Alu was the best configuration. The OP blacks on Alu build is a surprising close second. I also tried Pink Robins on Alu for a little bit and that wasn't too bad either.

Will a stack mount fix the hollowness/ping?

Yep. I have another video uploaded with stack mount if you want to compare.

Pretty nice sounding Sonnet overall, usually I'll just rub off some of the resonance as having character. I kind of did not expect the copper bottom to still be this resonant. I ran my sonnet with DMK Astronauts, iso top mounted alu plate with gateron milky top browns... and I think it didn't have that much resonance. Although i still do pick up some resonance in the alphas, and even more in the enter key too. You can peep my sound test if you want to. I ran it with PVD alu bottom and black alu weight.

Your's sounds pretty good! I'll have to maybe think about picking up an aluminum bottom and weight to see how big of a change there is.

@@MadCao888 Yes you can try, since there's another re-stock coming soon! Also I was under the impression that the alu bottom / weight isn't doing much and was quite resonant too, and there were talks going around on how the brass / copper bottom actually helped with the resonance. It's really hard to gauge. Could it be how the screws are tightened?

@@Ray.F Yeah I'm not 100% what it could be. The video the Mode put out comparing the sound using all different bottoms imo showed not too much difference... maybe the brass and copper were lower in tone. How much I tightened to screws maybe could have effected it? I didn't think I overtightened the case screws but I'll have to double check.
And yes! I'm excited for the restock, so I'll think about picking one up :)
