"Kunoichi" is a general term for female ninjas in Japanese vocabulary. I am quite sure that KOEI had stated before that this Kunoichi we knew never had her real name revealed. Since she is not based on any historical characters, I believe it is up to us to imagine.
@Jonathan0Lin different characters have different path ends, they don't follow a linear storyline in this game, for example in ishida's ending both him and kato are alive.
I hate what they've done to Kunoichi. She used to be a self-sufficient and positive girl in the 1st game and now she's like a retarted pop star who's jupming up and down and doing all that kawaii stuff, grimacing and talking in horrible voice and stalking Yukimuta in vain. It's either OOC or a completely different character.

You are partly correct. Kunoichi is a combination of all the Sanada 10 put together, including Sarutobi Sasuke.

She's my fave character.
