Sorry, but I really can't understand, how did you apply the cellular map to the box, I didn't see that? I tried to put the cellular map in the displace slot but nothing happened.
I have the same question, I put the cellular in displacement and changed size to 13, but the render result just had a bit of change, tiny bump, can't like 9:50. Could you help me?
Hey, thanks thanks thanks for your very good tutorial, but I don't know at 8:15, you didn't put cellular in displacement, why the render result changed?
The rug in the picture is a shugy rug while the image you chose as a texture is a much denser Persian style rug. Theu have different types of piles (hair). They dont match :)
It is really helfull thanks a lot. But in the case you want to make a round carpet, how would you make it? because using a cylinder and a circle (spline) I think makes error in vraydisplacementdmod. Thanks!
thank you so much its very helpful and am really happy with the result ! now i want to try your other video ( the vray fur ) i hope its easy too :D Thanks again :))
Hi Sry if only i could send a picture here, but my rug did not turn out round and soft looking, instead its sharp pointy teeth. Any idea how i can fix this ?
What i can do File e:\download\layali's.max was saved by a newer version of 3ds Max and cannot be loaded. File save version number: 23000 3ds Max version number: 22000
Hi, You mention at 7:19 that black color in a displacement map is leaving the model unaltered. afaik black is actually pushing down. So white is pushing up, black down and grey is between. Correct me if i'm wrong.
You are 100% right. 128 Gray makes it so it's neutral, black pushes down and white pushes up. So anything between 0-128 is pushing down anything between 128-256 is pushing up
Hi Denis, Please help me out. Is this possible to render with scanline render only. because my vray render show complete black output. and in scanline there's no changes in rugs after vraydisplacementmod. Please suggest.
Excellent video. I was trying to figure this out the other day when doing some hobby modeling. The only thing I don't know is tassels and how to make them? Those little bundle of strings coming off the edges of the rug. Edit: I just realized v ray is a 3rd party program that costs money for a subscription. Is there any kind of displacement map in 3ds max native?
Can you explain to me how to make VRay render with the shadows and whatnot. Like on yours. For me it's messed up, shows more of a gradient colored picture. Your looks realistic almost. Gray background with shadows. Can you tell me what options I should use?
Honestly my way of thinking is that when you buy an Alienware you are basically paying 30% more because you are buying a brand. Plus if you want to model 3d models you want to have a big screen PC, or two or maybe even three. Me personally i use 2 x 24" monitors and i have been thinking about upgrading to a 2x27" or a 3x24"
Denis Keman wow first person to recommend gtx 1080 vs a workstation graphics card such as quadro. Quadros are like 2000-6000 price range lol that's why I also went with the gtx 1080 and I still get great performance in all my programs coupled with i7 6700k.
Hey Denis, thanks for this tutorial man!!! Quick question, what would you recommend for something like this: www.gibsonliving.com/Theodore-Airplane-Kids-Rocker-with-Music_p_200.html Which method can be more accurate, the "displacement method" or "VRayFur"?
+David Arredondo Ahh the link that you placed in your comment is basically showing a plushy toy like object. So i wouldn't use a Displacement or Fur modifier for it, i would rather go over and deal with it with a material setting
+David Arredondo That's the general idea. Basically a velvet material and you can mix up two materials with different falloff curve and mix them with a procedural map
What a great opportunity to learn one new thing every day. Thank you for this lesson, sir
really appreciate you posting these Quality tutorials Denis, mucho thanks
+Emi Gin Every positive comment and every like means a lot, thanks
Thanks!! This one is better for me cause Vray Fur takes a life to render in my machine!! Great Tutorial!!
I'm guessing this is... A person
Motivational quote of the day
Many, many thanks for your tutorials! God bless you!

you can't render scanline and use Vray displacement

what is the difference between 2d mapping and 3d mapping?
Thank you very much. This was very helpful!
Cheers buddy
Thank you very much sir
Does Corona Render have some analog of this option?

i.imgur.com/ZBU4rsi.png This is the result I get.
Use a Pysical camera to deal with the exposure of the light
Liked and subscribed :) God bless you!
Cheers and Thank you :)
thank you very much that was helpful
Great..its really helpful..
Thank you!
The cellular texture to map for displacement v ray doesnt work
Love it
Can you tell me the specs of your system please so that I can get an idea of what to buy
i7 CPU
32-64GB RAM
1060-1080 GTX
Aim for that
Denis Keman how about an alienware 17 r4 with 16 gig of ram will that do. I mostly wanna make models to import it in unity
Honestly my way of thinking is that when you buy an Alienware you are basically paying 30% more because you are buying a brand. Denis Keman I'll keep it in mind and thanks for the tips :D

Hi: Denis.. Can you teach us how to make High and Low pile by using 3D MAx? it will be very helpful if you can teach us about it.
What do you mean high and low pile ?
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you

I've been thinking maybe using a falloff material in the diffuse and playing with procedurals in the bump slot too.

عمل رائع
Google translate FTW :) Cheers mate عمل رائع to you too
he says: great work XD
I liked it ***
Sir this thing us taking too much time to render 😥😓
2 mins for a carpet render? Why do people put up with vray?

I guess that was a person :) (kidding)
thank you so much
