  • @davidzaharik5408
    @davidzaharik5408 8 месяцев назад +223

That interview was BRILLIANT! Lee, "I'm only a window cleaner" was so articulate and well spoken! Informative and educational.
In 2010 I had my first attack of diverticulitis. I had always been an athlete and thought my diet was perfect... mostly whole organic foods, not heavy one way or another... what I would have called balanced. My breakfasts at the time was muesli... basically granola in yogurt. When the attack happened I had to be lifted out of my seat and taken to the hospital. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis and given the dietary advice of ensuring I had a high fibre diet. Being super disciplined I did... I followed the recommendations perfectly. For 10 years I had at least one if not two attacks, some hospitalizing me, all putting me on antibiotics.
In 2020 I had had enough. The attacks were more frequent and I went to have the pouches of diverticulum removed. Little did I know how severely the pouches had spread. The one or two were no dozens and the surgeon ended up removing 8 inches of my colon then miraculously redirecting it from the hepatic flexure under my right rib cage diagonally down to the bottom of the sigmoid colon. He told me that there were still many many pouches but if he removed more I would have ended up with a colostomy and he knew I would have lost my mind.
So... my point... while laying in the hospital recovering I was reading Dr Paul Saladino's book The Carnivore Code. In the book there were (I think 13) references to published medical articles regarding the cause and care for diverticulitis. Although not conclusive, the articles published between 2013 and 2017 are suggested a high fibre diet was the WORST thing a patient could be eating! I was horrified!
When I addressed this to the surgeon he embarrassedly admitted he had not read anything, no research in his field at all since he graduated. He also did not show any interest in learning.
That was 3 years and 3 months ago... I have been carnivore since and not a single twitch in the intestines since... I don't know if they pouches have healed or whether the diet just does not affect them... I don't care. I have lost 25 pounds, I exercise daily and feel great!

I had ulcerative colitis back when I was doing vegetable juicing, artificial sweeteners, and just a lot of junk and carbohydrates. I was diagnosed by mayo clinic and under the care of Mayo clinic. They stated that they did not know what caused my adult onset of ulcerative colitis, and never did a historical profile of my diet to my amazement, I ended up being on a biologic called Entyvio, which worked fantastic, but like any infusion it was a pain and inconvenient once every two months. I decided that I would go strictly Whole Foods and cut out all packaged foods, all artificial sweeteners and all sugar/carbs. I slowly ended up just eating meats and to my amazement, I completely healed myself of UC. I’ve been on strict carnivore for a year and a half and have permanently healed myself.

One of the most powerful carnivore stories I've heard, and I've heard many 100s. As in Lee's case, he can physically see and feel the result of his digested foods. The bloating (air) from fiberous plants, the fruits and nuts in the same form as it was swallowed, and how meat never retained its shape no matter the number of chews or chunk sizes. The visual description is like no other evidence for those who experience gut and digestive issues. This video alone can prevent so much suffering of others.

She wouldn't listen about trying carnivore for even a few days, said she'd only listen to her doctors. Eventually they let her out (not any better still - I think they thought she'd just pass away), but not processed, home cooked foods at least helped her as they were heavier in meat. Had been dealing with UC for over 20 years. At its worst I was going to the bathroom 18 times a day, bloody stools, bloating, gut pain, sometimes a fever. Had to know where every bathroom was in a 10 mile radius. Gi doctor either changed meds or increased dosage, which only helped for a while. In the fall of 2022 I had a flare up that encouraged me to do my own research. On 10 January 2023 I started the ketovore eating plan. In less than a month my symptoms disappeared. It is now almost a year later, still no UC symptoms, I lost 45 lbs, off all meds including 2 bp meds (my Gi Dr was amazed I did it by just changing my diet), my eye sight also improved! My wife joined me in this journey and has lost 81 lbs! We now coach others.

I have had Microscopic Collegenous/Lymphcytic Colitis for 10 years. Off and on steroids with each flare. In 2022 I had a deep, enduring flare, nothing helped. List 60 lbs and severely burned underweight. Went 100% Carnivore 12 months ago. Helped tremendously. Weight loss stopped, my hair started growing back, severe dehydration gone, bowel movements went from over 20 a day to 6 a day, pain and vomiting with bowel movements gone!!!! I could go on. I was housebound. Unfortunately, even after 12 months strict carnivore, I’ve had to go on Remicade infusions to help me gain back weight and stabilize fully. This man is spot on. I've been fighting Crohn's for 24 years and my GI doctor told me to eat whatever I want not to worry about it. I got to the point he talk to me about removing my colon. I said no because I was trying all kinds of thing and felt like something can make this right. Sad many scammers out on the web. I seen DR Berry one day about a year ago and had all but given up but he talked about the carnivore lifestyle so I said why not try it I've tried many other things. I'm still dealing with it but much better. I had blood work by my GP Doctor and he said I was a walking heart attack with high LDL. I can only say if you have GI problems what do you have to lose? I'd give it a try and it may take longer then the 90 day trial. When I first started for a few months even I was low energy and felt a little worse but I went into it cold turkey from a high carb diet to no carbs or sugar. I wanted to feel better more then eating those things but you may need to go slower into the change to carnivore.

I think with most eating changes it's best to go slowly. Lots of systems have to adjust their operations to handle it. I'm not saying your doc is wrong but LDL is best interpreted in context of other markers, so with any luck, you're metabolically healthy with low inflammation 🤔

Yes, it works the easiest when you first go on low carbs, then on Keto at which time I eliminated all starchy veggies, and then carnivore every other day, finally you do carnivore on more days then not. I've been on 90-95-100% carnivore for a year now and I feel so good. The 10-5% is maybe some parsley, or a cooking onion, or a cucumber or tomato. Most days it's just meat! I love it.

yes, LDL without a particle size test is irrelevant. you may have large fluffy LDL, not small dense, and this will not damage arteries in the least- anyway cholesterol is a "transporter". if you totally cut it out your body will make it on demand, to patch up anything needed like a sticking plaster. in fact given your diet id say this is highly likely. also, here it is done only via a calculation, not even a measurement, deduced from total cholesterol and hdl.

Not true, for me red meat especially steak makes me worse. It not about what you eat it’s about what your body can digest. There is no specific diet that fits all. If you have a leaky gut and damaged colon you should only be having broths and easy to digest food or steamed soluble fibre vegetables.
But once it’s healed having fibre is also important to add as this would improve your microbiome and your gut ability to digest foods better and remove all the bad bacteria and parasite causing the inflammation

I see my unchewed food come out as swallowed. I have the same experience with meat and fat where there is virtually no output, which to me says it was mostly digested. So I am getting the nutrients I need from meat and eggs. The thing I always wonder about is what nutrition are people really getting from plant based diet. Perhaps other people chew their food down to a mush and they might be getting the advertised nutrition listed on the label but I doubt it.

All along (60 years Dx with UC, 73 now) I knew food was at the bottom of my gut health. What a struggle, bits and pieces of key information here and there. I have been successful at keeping my chronic UC from taking me out. Last year discovered the benefits of Keto / Carnivore on the advice of my gut specific functional nutritionist. Within a couple of weeks I felt a lightness of being and no longer a constant worry about what will happen next. There’s so much I’d like to share about UC but I’ll stay on topic for this post. Thanks for your honest share, Lee!

From Australia. 63, carnivore for a year. I had 50yrs of ibs, gastric reflux, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhoea. Exhausting. Everything normalised in the first week of carnivore. You mentioned a lightness of being. A core benefit of carnivore eaters is complete removal of depression and anxiety. Hormones and brain chemistry is made in the gut. It stands to reason that mental health heals as gut health heals. Good luck to you, hope you are doing well.

I can’t thank you both enough for this video. Lee; your courage is amazing. I’m so sorry you had to go through all of this. I have to believe you are putting your experience to the best use, helping others. I am about to start my journey. I looked this up because my husband has a 45+ year history of colitis. He believes he’s doing well because he takes no meds. But I “hear” what he isn’t telling me. And I see weird lesions on his legs. Even though I was a nurse years ago, he doesn’t want interference. I know the best approach is to show him by my example. This video showed me that it could, in fact, work for him. Just another motivator for me! Well done to you both.

I have always had stomach and bowl issues all my life (I’m 63) since being on almost all carnivore.. I still eat nuts and cheese, I have never felt better.. I think cheese causes me some issues but I love it so much I’m willing to put up with the very small issues I have with it. Just recently switched to parmesan Reggiano and I seem to have almost no bad side effects from it.. I can definitely eat like this for the rest of my life. Ground meat is my new friend for life!

I am surprised by the fact that in an autoimmune disease they do not look at how to ignite the autoimmune system. Instead, drugs paralyze the autoimmune system. This medication makes me very nauseous.
As if it were the most normal thing in the world, my doctor told me: 'medicines have side effects' That was the deciding factor for me to self-examine after which I ended up with the carnivore diet. Immediately, the bleeding and nocturnal regurgitation stopped.
Thank you both for this great interview!
    Blessings from the Netherlands

Oh wow my stool test came back with blood. I had diarrhoea for over a month. I put myself on carnivore by myself and the inflammation stopped & so too the diahorrea. My gastroenterologist is on Christmas break until the end of Jan so it’s a nail biting wait to see him for the diagnosis for what’s going on down there. I am nervous and l am sticking to carnivore.

So interested to hear Lee mention the FODMAPS diet. I was introduced to that by an NHS Dietician and discovered that meat, fish and eggs all created no gut issues for me, but the plants created varying problems. I stopped seeing the dietician when they insisted that I reintroduce plants a little at a time. Now I’m full Carnivore and have no gut pain at all. It’s like a miracle.

What a great video! God bless you both!! So clearly explained and easy to understand. I’ve had autoimmune gut problems for three years now and no one has been able to diagnose it as anything other than non specific autoimmune IBD. I’ve tried carnivore a few times for a month or two and had good results but I always felt like I could eat this or try this now. Now I know this is just what I have to do and instead of feeling bummed about it I’m relieved to hear this testimony and Dr Berrys experienced explanation!
