- The CHIRON Super Sport - BUGATTI’s ultimate Grand Tourisme - came and it conquered, producing an awe-inspiring 1,618 PS on the dynamometer - more power than BUGATTI initially stated. Yet, it cannot be measured by any ordinary dynamometer - its strength is too great.
It necessitates the use of a high-performance all-wheel single-roller dynamometer that can handle its immense power and top speed of 440 km/h. The CHIRON Super Sport is the only production vehicle that can push the dynamometer’s 3.5-ton roller set to its limits.

uh no... they did it with a gutted non production prototype, the ford gt was the first car to break the 300mph barrier. the ssc tuatara is the current record holder of the fastest car in the world with a 282mph average
A modified Ford GT already broke 300mph before the Chiron, so it's not the first car and the Chiron was a prototype, not a stock production car.

@@yessuhyessuh2100 I never said it wasn't but in order for a top speed record to be considered for production car category, a manufacturer needs to produce a certain number of production units within a period of one year time starting from the day of the record, otherwise the record isn't considered for production car category. The Tuatara's record was in January 2021, now it's May 2022 and more than a year has passed without any updates on its production.

But I guess for a Bugatti fan boy 3 years is "a lot", just look at how long it took them to make the Chiron. Köenigsegg is doing bits compared to Bugatti, making a hybrid 4 seater with an inline 3 producing a total of 1700 bhp and a top speed north of 400 kph.

And yes the Regera took a few years, but only because its gearbox is a 1 speed. The same about the Freevalve engine in the Gemera. It's revolution it takes time to develop stuff like that.
