Was nice to see Bugatti in F1
The fact that it cooled of that quick is amazing
Well if you drive like +100km/h its pretty windy
well, the speed was also not small, it also extinguished the brake discs
they had a cooler next to it of course... even in normal driving it gets cooled by the wind

In the real world at high speeds air will be flowing over it so it won't get anywhere near as hot
@@trigger8221 Indeed. The wind plus the weight of the car will prevent it from even reaching such speeds (edit: reaching top speed so quickly). Race cars can combust due to unforeseen circumstances though.
@@kenzito101 What do you mean with "prevent it from even reaching such speeds"? Did you mean to say temperatures?
@@kenzito101 you were half right though, they can reach those speeds just not at the same acceleration, there'd be a good minute of acceleration with 250km/h airflow over the brakes in between each attempt. But still surprising to see that both the caliper and the disc stay intact for the final run... I sure that something was gonna give and had money on the disc shattering.

I worked in a brake shop and those have got to be the most beautiful brake calipers I've ever seen. Obviously designed to not trap heat around the rotor, seeing as how it covers such large part of it.
We've come a long way ftom Fred Flintstone jamming his soles into the pavement to to stop.

technically the truth

Yes
Not really, This is just stopping the rotor. In a real situation you would have 4 of theese. add tires, wind resistance, weight of the car etc. ull be stopping alot faster, ofc the brakes would be hot tho. but you wouldnt slam the brakes at top speed. that shit would be dangerous :D
just to think. these brakes will be stopping a car from 304.77mph in about 10 months
