Someone please tell me how the hell has it taken a Television advert EE to get me to hear this deliciously haunting 17 year old track??? just pure fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍😍
No, 00s were futuristic, that's why is the real millennial era. Kids in these days wouldn't appreciate masterpieces created by 80s babies, music created by 90s babies is garbage compared with elder millennials talent.
Used to be a huge Klaxons fan back in the day. Forgot about them until many years later when I heard this song on an EE advert. Now I’ve fallen back into the Klaxons rabbit hole.
This song is giving me major nostalgia for when I was little. Hot damn my dad had a good taste in music. I'm gonna go cry in a corner now because I miss my childhood house.
@@BubbleFergusson Holy shit, I NEVER knew this was a cover... I would have lived my life not knowing. Now I love BOTH VERSIONS as I always thought this was a beautiful song.
OH MY GOD IT TOOK ME OVER AN HOUR TO FIND THIS, AND IF I HAD STOPPED LOOKING 10 MINUTES AGO I PROBABLY WOULDNT'VE FOUND THIS MASTERPIECE!!!! I'M SO HAPPY THAT I FOUND THIS, THIS SONG HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD FOR YEARS!
My siblings introduced me to this band, I remember seeing them on the telly every morning when they’d play music vids before skewel, always had this track particularly stuck in my head all these years until about 2017 when I rediscovered them
It's impossible to overstate how successful and popular the Klaxons were in the UK between 2006-2010. They were the figureheads of a youth movement which replicated the values of indie kids-turned-ravers perfectly. This album was played at every house party, every bar, every club, every festival.
@@Starkweather133I remember these from the time. Golden Skans reminds me of the early heatwave of spring ‘07, while this reminds me of the miserably wet summer.
There’s always been two parts of this song I’ve been obsessed with. That harmony of the very first note of the song, and the ending starting at 3:04. Those last desperate throws, so insanely good ugh.
whenever i listen to this song (or the same space) i feel like a rock has been dropped on my body. it’s harder to breath for whatever reason, maybe because i just love this too much
October 8th 2024: Early-80s-born people: are you there?? This song from our late university years. Those British rock years, my God, pure gold. Abrazo a todos los crecidos y formados en los 90s/00s.
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Placebo used this song as a ritual before getting on stage. They referred to a group full of shouts, and shouting is a circumstance you run into when you have to play in front of millions of people. What a great song"
I have heard this many times on the radio and enjoyed it without knowing the group thanks to cable tv pop anthems have now identified this distinctive and catchy song several years later.
The track tells a story about a protagonist who is still holding on to a relationship even though it has fallen apart, and the other person may have moved on. The lyrics suggest that the protagonist is still deeply in love with this person, willing to do anything for them, and willing to change themselves to be what the other person wants. The lines "I'll live for you, I'd die for you" and "Do what you want me to" demonstrate this level of devotion. The chorus, repeating "It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet" along with the lines "You still want me, don't you? Cause I can see through you," reveals the protagonist's desire to hold onto the relationship and their belief that the other person still wants them back. However, this could also be interpreted as a form of denial or wishful thinking on the part of the protagonist. The lines "Don't let me down, don't make a sound, don't throw it all away, Remember me so tenderly" demonstrate the protagonist's fear of losing the relationship and pleading with the other person not to end it completely. The lyrics "My tears will show that I can't let you go" reveal the protagonist's emotional turmoil and struggle with moving on. Overall, the song portrays the desperate attempt of a protagonist to hold onto a love that has faded away, with a sense of hope that it's not over yet, despite the reality of the situation.
I'm the same - I spent a futile hour or two ruling out Bloc Party, The Chainsmokers etc before my mate in Brighton pointed me in the right direction. The siren like riff has been scratching my brain like a pleasant itch since I first saw the ee advert. Thank god I found this and can scratch it

You realise it's a cover song right?
It's a cover but it's better than the original. Also is very different sounding if you ask me. I prefer this one.
@MarkRobbz in your opinion it is, personally I think the original is better, despite not being a dance fan.
