Jack Linde that’s my guess as well. If I were the crappy dealer where “it’s a beautiful day in sunny Sylvania”, I’d be falling over myself to get that 2004 Mercedes SL 500 fixed, and like yesterday. Making the need to put up a video about getting a repair done on their flagship product would seem to me a no-brainer. This is especially true where the repair is unquestionably a severely safety-oriented issue that’s been covered under class action lawsuit. Yes, Mercedes looks bad for making a product with such widespread failure of a critical safety system (this isn’t a climate control system or radio with intermittent failure). But the dealer looks worse, and the dealer is the face of Mercedes Benz. To put it another way, I couldn’t tell you what shoes Pogo the Clown wore, but I sure can describe his face.
My guess is that it actually was a battery problem like the merc dealer in the video yesterday morning said and then all the other videos came off as just rude... lol. Could be wrong though.
Will Yates that could very well be true, but that makes the dealership look worse. And to be honest, though I don’t know Casey, it would very much surprise me if he took down the videos for that reason. On the very video where he talks about “manning up”, it would be atypically hypocritical. The major reason it being the battery would surprise me is that the problem resolved itself without battery replacement (and I’m thinking the second battery was not replaced is that no mention was ever made at the first dealership whose name I won’t mention, nor was Casey charged for that battery being replaced).
@@cjswag My mom has a 2005 E500 4-Matic and these cars do weird things. A battery would actually explain the issue especially if the car isn't driven all the time. My mom's will have random codes pop up and weird stuff happen and then magically fix itself. Really odd electronics in these cars. (Hers had the brake failure a few years ago but she took it to a certified Benz shop and it was repaired under warranty and she bought it used without a car warranty.) So the problem could be multiple things lol.
Many people live in the prison of their own mind and punish themselves by pushing away people who could help them get through their struggles. Stay honest, be a good friend, it’s all you can really do in this world. I look forward to hearing how the dealer had the videos pulled down. I’m guessing you live in a 2 party state. Can be a generational issue as well. You give good advice. I have friends that I only see every 5 years, but we pick up right where we left off. Everyone has circumstances

Came here for the car content long ago, but I really do enjoy these types of videos. Even as an older person this kind of stuff can help you out, even when the topic isn't something that will directly help me I still love that someone is saying it, getting out there and helping others. In 2019 there are very few people on RUclips that are like you Casey, who honestly don't want the spotlight for stupid reasons. You putting yourself out there and basically just "doing you" is greatly appreciated weather you know it or not.

Had a difficult time and didnt feel like "bothering" my friends with my problems (anxiety related also) ,so I took a step back and when too many questions came, I started avoiding them. Dang. That is spot on for me. I am in my early 30's and don't really have close friends right now. I do tend to push people away specifically because i don't want to bother others with my issues. They have their life and their own issues and i feel that they don't need my baggage.
I am old man and I've always been a kind of a loner and some of this makes sense to me, but I have found over many years that I tend to move away from people who don't have my values or who won't respect my values th My values (sense of honor) mean a whole lot to me and I would rather be alone then deal with toxic people. if that's ghosting I'm guilty.
I'm glad i saw the videos before you took them down. I hate how large pockets hide truth. However this means they have admitted guilt regardless of what they might be saying which is a win. Thankyou Casey this helped me a lot I actually am going through something like this right now. I have always been the type to forget and forgive and get over things. I hardly ever let things bother me and rarely get mad or angry. With the situation I have going on I have felt hurt because this person was my best friend and practically my brother growing up. It’s a form of depression and guilt for me. I have done it mainly because I cannot stand the feeling of someone not liking me. I have severe anger issues so I do my best to keep people happy. I wish I could change.

I’m very antisocial and many people do not take hints when I’m saying I’m just not in a social place. Sometimes ghosting is the best way to protect your own mental health. Only the people who are mad after you explain are the people who don’t need to be in your life anyways. My best friend since I was like 6 doesn’t text me back for months and we have never made it a personal thing. It’s easy to be busy

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this matter. Ghosting really has become an epidemic these days for such a multitude of different reasons. It seems the more "connected" we all are via technology, the more disconnected we become in day to day actual life. But also, like you mentioned, a lot of us are so busy anymore these days that it really has become a "rat race" for so many of us, and we all lose touch with our people from time to time, and it really sucks. We only have so much time here, and tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

I struggle with social anxiety but I'm for one a pretty loyal person for the most part when it comes to committing to plans with friends.I had dealt with very sketchy and poor business practices from people who didn't want to work with me or anyone else. Lesson learned, so I moved on, and left that job. I couldn't take the dysfunctional communication and poor business practices. What are your thoughts on the peter principle? Just curious. 556m4 where does Casey live? Living in Texas is wonderful for the single party laws in regards to recording. I can record any conversation I want to and legally post that conversation but not all states are like that . Some require both parties to agree to being recorded. It was definitely the dealer. What scumbags.
Fake copy write strike would be the easiest way to get the vids down, or advice from a lawyer while a case is prepared, I'm sure it's all under control though, Casey is pretty on the ball it seems.

I had a friend disappear on me. I was at a bad time in my life and I vented my frustration of losing a job in an email with a “friend” and then later sent an apology about being course with him. Then nothing. No more responses and no more phone calls. It’s been about 15 years and that’s it. I know he’s alive as I’ve looked him up through his profession but I guess that’s it. We went to school together and afterwards we’d go hang out and I traveled to see him and vice versa, but now nothing.
My gut tells me with MB, is the “it’s a beautiful day...", they are calling a copyright infringement as their excuse to not have bad critiques against them. Good Ghosting advise Casey... When it comes to ghosting there are many reasons, besides what you described. Ghosting can also be to avoid confrontation, in particular when you know that things will escalate to a bad level. When ghosted the best advise is to just hang loose, and not let it affect your life to the negative. Be introspective, continue ways to improve yourself as a person. But unfortunately, it is a fact of life.
Being ghosted by someone or a group because of a misunderstanding or a difference of opinions hurts. It's sad that people intentionally do this to others.
I've personally dropped "friends" that were more a less an exercise in tolerance on my part. One way street emotionally, so I just wrote them off. There would not have been any better "closure" trying to explain the situation to them than it would be for them to look back and see the people they now call friends. When you end up tolerating people, who then feel enlightened enough to start lecturing you, and telling you what's wrong about you, and they are the ones who have had issues their entire life, the hypocrisy was too much. IMHO
Wow! I just saw this in the que and although I haven't watched it yet I was struck by your surroundings. It looks like you have a bunch of my stuff behind you! Wooden shafted clubs and rapiers are not something most people keep or collect let alone have in the same room if they do happen to have more than one of both. My dad was a golf fanatic and I grew up in a house with a bent grass lawn and a 9 hole practice green in back. He gave me my first putter- an old wooden shafted Otie Crismon putter with a brass head. Gorgeous putter that all my friends called "the Billie Baroole" from Caddyshack. And I'm the CES fencing instructor at Schoolcraft Community College and have been collecting rapiers for about 30 years or so. I have to cringe when I see them resting on their points- until I notice it's carpet! The two cup hit rapiers don't look like replicas. I have a swept hilt just like the one shown behind you but mine is a replica. Just from seeing these cool things among your stuff my respect for you, which was already very high for your hard work & philanthropy, has grown even more! lol... I guess I'm easy to impress.
I might have been Ghosted by many but it freed up so much time that I saw it as a blessing. Now I don't have to waste my time replying to them anymore.

We all need to go into the desert for 40 days to clear our heads. As a general rule, I find Ghosting speaks more about the size of their bollocks than anything else. Maybe they are a coward. Maybe they are busy, in my experience most of the time but NOT always - the reason is cowardice I find.
I’ve ghosted people. The people I’ve ghosted were just no longer people I felt I had a connection with or wanted to even talk to because personality reasons. I always respond back to people who I feel deserve an answer. Which is most people.
Hmmm..... I can’t wait to hear if the “offended party” is a crappy MB dealer where it’s a “beautiful sunny day in Sylvania” or MB themselves. I’m hoping, incidentally, that particular dealer has come to the realization that smart buyers avoid buying an expensive depreciating asset at a dealer that approaches service the way they did here. I will never buy a car in good times anywhere that would jerk you around like they did in bad times. I’m amazed anywhere that ranked “in the top 10 nationwide in customer satisfaction” seemed immune to that point. But, to quote Douglas Adams, “Human brings, who are nearly unique in their ability to learn from the mistakes of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”

Two years ago I ghosted a girl pretty hard. I was really good friends with her since highschool. We talked and got together a good bit as friends. I don't think i really had actual feelings with her till around the last bit during the time. I knew she had a thing for jumping through relationships quickly. She was a "single" mother and had some issues that I completely understood. During the time she was in a pretty rough relationship with a guy. He was emotionally abusive and a deadbeat that took her money. I tryed my best to support her during this time in terms of helping with the kid. The dude finally broke it off with her and within the exact 3 minutes of that happening (we were out doing something together) she throws out that she has always had a thing for me and said she loved me. Now this hit a bit different. I sat on it for a couple days and just felt abit angry and upset. I felt like i was trying to be used and it felt like i was nothing more than a second choice to her. I stayed for a bit because i had doubts and maybe thought it would work out. Tryed to do more stuff with her in attempt to maybe pursue a relationship with her but she then began to push me away. So my response was to do it first. So i got rid of every contact i had with her. Completely vanishing, the only thing she could contact me with was my cell number. She never did, so i continued with my life and haven't heard anything from her for two years. I do feel guilty on how i did it and wish I personally talked to her instead. I don't know if it would be right or not to try to go back to her and apologize/explain. I know this shit has effected me my other relationships to the point that i feel like I have some trust issues now.
Speaking from a female perspective here - I'd say you dodged a bullet. Don't let that girl affect your other relationships. She was just a low-level gold digger. Who knows if it's even true that she actually loved you? I think she loved the money you were throwing at her. That kid was not your biological child, and this single mother was manipulating you to use your money and resources to take care of someone else's kid. You ghosted this girl for a reason. Don't second-guess your instincts, and don't feel guilty. You don't owe her anything.

I’ve been ghosted by the same girl three times this semester, idk why I keep giving her chances. Every time we talked she seemed really into me and every time- the day of our date- she wouldn’t say a thing all day and then she would cancel on our plans... so annoying. I’m young, so I have plenty of time. But I’ve also been an only child with a single mother my whole life. I’ve seen my mother date several several men throughout the 21 years of my existence. She’s still single to this day. What scares me is how I don’t even know what a relationship looks like. I never had a marriage between my parents to look up to. I’ve had a couple girlfriends through high school, but nothing that lasted longer than a month . After high school I went to college and I’ve been single for the past 4 years here. I’m not saying I’m giving up on looking for the girl of my dreams, but it’s hard to just keep your head up. I’ve talked to plenty of very pretty girls in college, but it always ends the same way. I guess someone out there was better for them than I was.
Just stay true to yourself and learn about who you are in life. Don't worry about going after them. I had two girls that was interested in me but pushed me aside. It also taught me a valuable lesson about people's character. If you are a loyal person, then the right people who are loyal and meant for you will come at the right time if you are willing to be patient. Don't be afraid to choose wisely, because if you have a set plan in life, you need to right people that fit. Good luck.

The whole nightmare MB repair situation is like Pogo the Clown: I can’t tell you what shoes he wore, but I sure can describe and recognize his face. Yes, MB designed and built a product with critical safety deficiencies (as evidenced by the class action lawsuit), but the dealer is the face of that product. My guess is that’s why Pogo, errrr, that dealer with the “beautiful day is sunny Sylvania” would have motivation to have the videos removed if it was indeed them.

Well, problem is that people have 300-1000 “friends” . No human can keep up with that. People inevitably fall to the wayside. A man should be able to count his friends on one hand.
I think with no explanation it is wrong to ghost someone. But once I have told you I am not interested after giving you more than once chance that in reality you did not deserve or should have got. If you don't hear I do not want to be with you, not interested in working with you, directly and you refuse to hear what you have been told face to face and over the telephone. Sorry I will ghost you after that and block you because you refuse to accept or listen to what I have told you adult to adult. At that point I don't feel guilty and it is not because I am horrible it is the fact I want you to leave me the heck alone. I think if someone have ghosted you, move on. Stop chasing people that don't want to be chased, live your life. They will explain if they went AOL. If you messed up and don't hear the words they told you. It is time to self reflect. I have done it in the past and it’s because the communication style is poor from the man. Therefore, if you don’t have common courtesy to respond in a timely manner or engage with me then it gives impression you’re not that into it. I would not recommend this if you are in a serious relationship.
I had one friend that I would talk to about Facebook and he was always negative about Facebook. I finally unfriended him. Several months later, he was like, hey man, why did you unfriend me. I have deleted my Facebook account now.

You’d think after a class action lawsuit this would be a mandatory recall. Just more proof they don’t have a solution and expect their customers to accept that the OEM in any form doesn’t care.
Take a look at the Mercedes dealership reviews (Vin Devers Autohaus of Sylvania ) you can see a few people who saw the video wrote some negative reviews. Funny how those negative reviews got buried by some 5 star ones all put up today...
I like what this man does. i wish i was more into his builds and understood them better. i enjoy these types of vids more lol. if i had some money i def help fund is school. love the program. sadly our schools for the last 30+ years in the usa are all about making kids dumber, taking away our enginuity, and making us want to just be followers. they are honest to god indoctrinating the kids to be slaves to government and banks. so sad.....
LOL Mercedes got butt hurt..now fix the car. Ghosting, been on both sides, sometimes people are just going in two different directions, sometimes it is a personality conflict, either way I never had animosity just kept on my path.

I'm guessing it was more of a quid pro quo.. also assuming the Merc is currently being fixed.. exposure does amazing things at times..

I’m very antisocial and many people do not take hints when I’m saying I’m just not in a social place. Sometimes ghosting is the best way to protect your own mental health. Only the people who are mad after you explain are the people who don’t need to be in your life anyways. My best friend since I was like 6 doesn’t text me back for months and we have never made it a personal thing. It’s easy to be busy

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this matter. Ghosting really has become an epidemic these days for such a multitude of different reasons. It seems the more "connected" we all are via technology, the more disconnected we become in day to day actual life. But also, like you mentioned, a lot of us are so busy anymore these days that it really has become a "rat race" for so many of us, and we all lose touch with our people from time to time, and it really sucks. We only have so much time here, and tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
You're preaching to the choir on this one Casey. I struggle with social anxiety but I'm for one a pretty loyal person for the most part when it comes to committing to plans with friends.I had dealt with very sketchy and poor business practices from people who didn't want to work with me or anyone else. Lesson learned, so I moved on, and left that job. I couldn't take the dysfunctional communication and poor business practices. What are your thoughts on the peter principle? Just curious. 556m4 where does Casey live? Living in Texas is wonderful for the single party laws in regards to recording. I can record any conversation I want to and legally post that conversation but not all states are like that . Some require both parties to agree to being recorded.

Fake copy write strike would be the easiest way to get the vids down, or advice from a lawyer while a case is prepared, I'm sure it's all under control though, Casey is pretty on the ball it seems.

I had a friend disappear on me. I was at a bad time in my life and I vented my frustration of losing a job in an email with a “friend” and then later sent an apology about being course with him. Then nothing. No more responses and no more phone calls. It’s been about 15 years and that’s it. I know he’s alive as I’ve looked him up through his profession but I guess that’s it. We went to school together and afterwards we’d go hang out and I traveled to see him and vice versa, but now nothing.

My gut tells me with MB, is the “it’s a beautiful day...", they are calling a copyright infringement as their excuse to not have bad critiques against them.
Good Ghosting advise Casey... When it comes to ghosting there are many reasons, besides what you described. Ghosting can also be to avoid confrontation, in particular when you know that things will escalate to a bad level.
When ghosted the best advise is to just hang loose, and not let it affect your life to the negative. Be introspective, continue ways to improve yourself as a person. But unfortunately, it is a fact of life.

Being ghosted by someone or a group because of a misunderstanding or a difference of opinions hurts. It's sad that people intentionally do this to others.
I've personally dropped "friends" that were more a less an exercise in tolerance on my part. One way street emotionally, so I just wrote them off. There would not have been any better "closure" trying to explain the situation to them than it would be for them to look back and see the people they now call friends. When you end up tolerating people, who then feel enlightened enough to start lecturing you, and telling you what's wrong about you, and they are the ones who have had issues their entire life, the hypocrisy was too much. IMHO
Wow! I just saw this in the que and although I haven't watched it yet I was struck by your surroundings. It looks like you have a bunch of my stuff behind you! Wooden shafted clubs and rapiers are not something most people keep or collect let alone have in the same room if they do happen to have more than one of both. My dad was a golf fanatic and I grew up in a house with a bent grass lawn and a 9 hole practice green in back. He gave me my first putter- an old wooden shafted Otie Crismon putter with a brass head. Gorgeous putter that all my friends called "the Billie Baroole" from Caddyshack. And I'm the CES fencing instructor at Schoolcraft Community College and have been collecting rapiers for about 30 years or so. I have to cringe when I see them resting on their points- until I notice it's carpet! The two cup hit rapiers don't look like replicas. I have a swept hilt just like the one shown behind you but mine is a replica. Just from seeing these cool things among your stuff my respect for you, which was already very high for your hard work & philanthropy, has grown even more! lol... I guess I'm easy to impress.
I might have been Ghosted by many but it freed up so much time that I saw it as a blessing. Now I don't have to waste my time replying to them anymore.

We all need to go into the desert for 40 days to clear our heads. On a daily basis, when I notice good people are having a hard time that day, I tell myself and others, "to give them the "free space" on the Bingo card that day. Eh? Cheers ! As a general rule, I find Ghosting speaks more about the size of their bollocks than anything else.
Maybe they are a coward.
Maybe they are busy, in my experience most of the time but NOT always - the reason is cowardice I find.
I’ve ghosted people. The people I’ve ghosted were just no longer people I felt I had a connection with or wanted to even talk to because personality reasons. I always respond back to people who I feel deserve an answer. Which is most people.

Hmmm..... I can’t wait to hear if the “offended party” is a crappy MB dealer where it’s a “beautiful sunny day in Sylvania” or MB themselves. I’m hoping, incidentally, that particular dealer has come to the realization that smart buyers avoid buying an expensive depreciating asset at a dealer that approaches service the way they did here. I will never buy a car in good times anywhere that would jerk you around like they did in bad times. I’m amazed anywhere that ranked “in the top 10 nationwide in customer satisfaction” seemed immune to that point.

Chris Johnson That’s a great quote. I try to avoid doing that. It has been difficult for me at times. Especially when I was younger.
Michael Meyers that’s my favorite quote, and by my favorite author. He also wrote in one of his novels (and I’m paraphrasing here as the gist is right but the exact phrasing may be off), “There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. Two years ago I ghosted a girl pretty hard. I was really good friends with her since highschool. We talked and got together a good bit as friends. I don't think i really had actual feelings with her till around the last bit during the time. I knew she had a thing for jumping through relationships quickly. She was a "single" mother and had some issues that I completely understood. During the time she was in a pretty rough relationship with a guy. He was emotionally abusive and a deadbeat that took her money. I tryed my best to support her during this time in terms of helping with the kid. The dude finally broke it off with her and within the exact 3 minutes of that happening (we were out doing something together) she throws out that she has always had a thing for me and said she loved me. Now this hit a bit different. I sat on it for a couple days and just felt abit angry and upset. I felt like i was trying to be used and it felt like i was nothing more than a second choice to her. I stayed for a bit because i had doubts and maybe thought it would work out. Tryed to do more stuff with her in attempt to maybe pursue a relationship with her but she then began to push me away. So my response was to do it first. So i got rid of every contact i had with her. Completely vanishing, the only thing she could contact me with was my cell number. She never did, so i continued with my life and haven't heard anything from her for two years. I do feel guilty on how i did it and wish I personally talked to her instead. I don't know if it would be right or not to try to go back to her and apologize/explain. I know this shit has effected me my other relationships to the point that i feel like I have some trust issues now.

Speaking from a female perspective here - I'd say you dodged a bullet. Don't let that girl affect your other relationships. She was just a low-level gold digger. Who knows if it's even true that she actually loved you? I think she loved the money you were throwing at her. That kid was not your biological child, and this single mother was manipulating you to use your money and resources to take care of someone else's kid. You ghosted this girl for a reason. Don't second-guess your instincts, and don't feel guilty. You don't owe her anything.

I think a good topic to discuss would be the issues of living vicariously through others on social media. I see people doing all the time especially when it comes to the car community and a lot of these RUclipsrs and Instagramers.

I’ve been ghosted by the same girl three times this semester, idk why I keep giving her chances. Every time we talked she seemed really into me and every time- the day of our date- she wouldn’t say a thing all day and then she would cancel on our plans... so annoying. I’m young, so I have plenty of time. But I’ve also been an only child with a single mother my whole life. I’ve seen my mother date several several men throughout the 21 years of my existence. She’s still single to this day. What scares me is how I don’t even know what a relationship looks like. I never had a marriage between my parents to look up to. I’ve had a couple girlfriends through high school, but nothing that lasted longer than a month . After high school I went to college and I’ve been single for the past 4 years here. I’m not saying I’m giving up on looking for the girl of my dreams, but it’s hard to just keep your head up. I’ve talked to plenty of very pretty girls in college, but it always ends the same way. I guess someone out there was better for them than I was.
Just stay true to yourself and learn about who you are in life. Don't worry about going after them. I had two girls that was interested in me but pushed me aside. It also taught me a valuable lesson about people's character. If you are a loyal person, then the right people who are loyal and meant for you will come at the right time if you are willing to be patient. Don't be afraid to choose wisely, because if you have a set plan in life, you need to right people that fit. Good luck.

The whole nightmare MB repair situation is like Pogo the Clown: I can’t tell you what shoes he wore, but I sure can describe and recognize his face. Yes, MB designed and built a product with critical safety deficiencies (as evidenced by the class action lawsuit), but the dealer is the face of that product. My guess is that’s why Pogo, errrr, that dealer with the “beautiful day is sunny Sylvania” would have motivation to have the videos removed if it was indeed them.

Well, problem is that people have 300-1000 “friends” . No human can keep up with that. People inevitably fall to the wayside. A man should be able to count his friends on one hand.
I think with no explanation it is wrong to ghost someone. But once I have told you I am not interested after giving you more than once chance that in reality you did not deserve or should have got. If you don't hear I do not want to be with you, not interested in working with you, directly and you refuse to hear what you have been told face to face and over the telephone. Sorry I will ghost you after that and block you because you refuse to accept or listen to what I have told you adult to adult. At that point I don't feel guilty and it is not because I am horrible it is the fact I want you to leave me the heck alone.
I think if someone have ghosted you, move on. Stop chasing people that don't want to be chased, live your life. They will explain if they went AOL. If you messed up and don't hear the words they told you. It is time to self reflect.
Most of what you shared was indeed spot on in regards to ghosting, but I just had to offer a different perspective as to why it can also happen as it is not always black and white.
I have done it in the past and it’s because the communication style is poor from the man. Therefore, if you don’t have common courtesy to respond in a timely manner or engage with me then it gives impression you’re not that into it. I would not recommend this if you are in a serious relationship.
I had one friend that I would talk to about Facebook and he was always negative about Facebook. I finally unfriended him. Several months later, he was like, hey man, why did you unfriend me. I have deleted my Facebook account now.

You seem highly confident in social interactions and I’m an introvert. To get to the point I feel like our friendship wouldn’t work out. Ghosting, been on both sides, sometimes people are just going in two different directions, sometimes it is a personality conflict, either way I never had animosity just kept on my path.
People ghost because they don't care about the other person... simple.
