Great vieeo! I'm not 100% its my blower motor but my AC makes like this high pitch annoying noise when on the lower settings but it does work. I asked a mechanic and he said he thinks it's the blower motor, but he didnt really look. You think that is what's the issue? Sounds like from inside the cabin cant hear it outside. Gives me a headache after like 30 mins of it.

Make sure the cover for the cabin air filter is on all the way, I’ve seen them not installed right and cause a whistle like you are describing

Just wanted to say thank you. I replaced the blower motor and regulator today on my 2012 GLK350. Pretty easy to get the motor off, but sliding the new one into the right spot was very frustrating. Your video helped.

Thanks for this! Another thing to note - you may need to remove all three of the accessible screws for the glove box. On my 2013, I needed to do this in order to allow just enough room for the inlet bracket to clear the glove box/dash trim once the part housing has been rotated so the motor could drop.

What was the symptom before you replaced this, was it dead or something else? We just got a 2013 and at early idle and especially when the front defogger is on it is really REALLY loud. But AC & heat are both performing perfectly. So I don't know if it's this blower showing its age or if there's a belt issue deeper in.

This one was completely dead with open circuit faults stored in hvac control unit

What does a blower motor do exactly ? My AC sometimes doesn’t turn on and I’m wondering if this would fix it

It’s responsible for moving air out of your interior vents

Ok so pulling it out isn’t too bad but putting it back in sucks! Unless you remove the right hand side glove box screw which is closest to the passenger door frame. It will allow it to be pulled back far enough to get the motor in place. Otherwise there just isn’t enough room
