    I have very confusing about the current flow...
    Say, (omit the d2 for now), if d1 is in the conducting mode, does that means current is flowing from Vin through d1 through 1kohm resistor and then enters into the positive side of the 1v battery????
    I'm really confused how the current flows and enters into the positive side of 1v battery? In simple way, does a current coming from higher voltage say 12v can go enter into lower voltage say 5v?
    Please explain clearly about the flow of current from higher positive voltage to lower positive side of another source.

      Yes, current flows from higher potential to lower potential. If Vin is higher than 1V, the D1 will conduct and current will flow from Vin to 1V through diode and 1k resistor.

      @@allaboutelectronics-quizokay but still some confusion....
      Still ignoring d2... say now if the Vin is lower than the 2nd source voltage say Vin is 5V, and second voltage is 12V instead of 1V.
      I want to know how the circuit behaves especially the flow of current, and most importantly what's the voltage at Vout when Vin is lower than the 2nd source voltage?

    Hello, may I know on D2, how did input Voltage

      As I have explained at 2:17, for D2 diode the voltage at Anode is 1V. So, Va > 0.7 + Vk. Here, the voltage at the cathode is Vin. So, we can say that, Va > Vin + 0.7. And since, Va = 1V, so, 1>0.7 + Vin. Or in other words, Vin < 0.3V. I hope, it will clear your doubt.

    how at initially voltage at D1's cathode is 1v when D2 is off( are you taking both diode as off for considerations of transfer characterisitics)

    will there be no potential drop across the 1k resistor?how will it be 1v?

    • @allaboutelectronics-quiz
      @allaboutelectronics-quiz  Год назад

      To have some drop across 1k resistor, there has to have flow of current in the circuit. When both diodes are OFF, then 1V source with resistor is disconnected from the other circuit. (Both diodes are open). Therefore, Vo = 1V

      Once you are saying that D1 is in ON state then current will flow through D1 towards 1v then how you still take 1v at the output of D1. you are not taking drop across 1kohm. Condition is D1 is ON
