This is great. I didn't realise you could still access the streaming apps even if you didn't have sky. I have now tv so don't intend on signing up the entertainment subscription (although i'm guessing you can't get now tv through this) but didn't just want to stick a fire stick in the back either.
Thank you for this. I’ve moved back to sky q but I’m giving my sky glass to my parents for exactly what you said about the sound. I did give them a soundbar but they found it over complicated. My stepdad is same age as you and is struggling with voice via a tv nowadays. I’ll just plug in their Virgin box into the sky glass as they know how to use that. I’ve read elsewhere that it’s because they don’t really bother to do stereo downcoding in the same way as they used to because they assume everyone has a sound system!
@@coveryoureyesmedia they want sky channels. It was more they needed a new TV and need a soundbar due to hearing so giving them my 43 inch glass was a perfect solution.
I’m currently sky glass with virgin, the only annoying thing is that u can only access the Dolby Atmos through sky as an add on. This is not currently supported by Virgin annoying right?? Do you know anything more than that as the Atmos sound is absolutely amazing.?
@@coveryoureyesmedia no I’m afraid I’m not sure. When I had the sky glass without subscription I mainly used the apps via the sky glass which worked fine.
If watching Netflix and you press the home button do you still have the mini display in the corner and does it show in continue watching like when having a subscription?
@@GADHobby You can still attach a normal digital roof ariel and or free sat, Sky HD or Sky Q with the correct dish etc. It does support Digital freeview.
You know that you do have aerial input it becomes available when you have no BB all you need to do is put in av aerial lead and tune in free Vue. You new have all live channels

Just a digital Ariel will get the free view channels if wired directly.

Just what I wanted to know thanks you
Thank you for this video. Does Apple TV box work fine on the Sky Glass? What do you use it for? Can you cast?
Yes it does and yes you can get all your library and cast.
Actually not a bad idea and if you want live tv there is. Freesat.
If watching Netflix and you press the home button do you still have the mini display in the corner and does it show in continue watching like when having a subscription?
Can I only get a Netflix subscription with sky glass, or do I have to get a sky tv subscription?
Ydes you can still have a Netflix sub without a Sky sub but will need to pay the monthly £4.99
You have the Sky Q satellite still? There is one freesat box that is compatible with this

Can you add any other apps?
@@fair_weather_biker not as far as I know, only the ones already on TV

We don’t have an ariel or satellite dish.
How do you tune in free view
Can you pause TV without a sky package?
Not live TV. But streamed TV yes on most apps. Haven't found it an issue at all. Now we are used to it I don't miss Sky. Hope this helps.
@@pindiddle thank you 👍🏻
