I love Jimmie, but Matt's always struck me as a stand-up kind of guy throughout his whole career as well. One class act in the sport opening up about another class act in the sport.

Kenseth is the underrated one. His championship points lead in 2003 was so dominant that NASCAR changed the points system for the first time in over 30 years.

Kenseth, outside of Harvick, imo may be one of the 3-5 best 1 time Champions ever. He happened to race in his prime against Gordon, Stewart and Johnson. You drop Matt in the 90s, Gordon still wins 4 championships and all those faces, but Matt probably wins 2 titles and would have been the second best, imo. Same with Smoke. With the right situation, Tony wins 3 titles in the 90s.

In 1994, Matt Kenseth was 19, and won the hardest race in the Midwest, Miller Genuine Draft Nationals it was called. 250 laps at MIR and 250 at Slinger. He beat out Ken Schroeder, Rich Bickle, Scott Hansen, Joe Shear, Robbie Reiser and more. I was a kid, probably 8 9, running around and to see someone come from nowhere, literally, he barely became where he ended up, to see what he has done, is man, something else.
