Did you have an kind of rattle from the compressor before you replaced the bearing? My G8 compressor has a rattle when starting the AC then smooths out after it runs for a few seconds. Trying to narrow down whether the compressor is failing or just the bearing.
do you do the reverse and turn the ratchet counterclockwise to tighten the hub over the pulley, when reinstalling the pulley/bearing/hub? and any idea how tight it should be? thanks
This compressor is variable displacement. It uses a swash plate to adjust the displacement. The HVAC control module sends a PWM signal to a control valve on the compressor that adjusts the ratio of head pressure to case pressure. That ratio of pressure will determine the pitch of the swash plate.
Great video. Thanks. My BMW E61 from 2005 has the same pulley design.
Can you do this with a charged system with the compressor in car?
Do you have a part # for the pulley? Picked up a G8 recently that had shot the belt & chewed the edges of the pulley off. Thanks in advance!
thank you it's helpful for me
What's the pulley part # . Where can I order one?
Is this the same ac pump on a ve commodore?

Was yours doing this when cold starting your car? And if so how did you fix it?

How's does the compressor engage and disengage if there's no clutch?

where do you find a replacement bearing?
I wish it would be that easy. I stripped the shaft with 7mm head. Before that soaked in WD40 - didn't help.
