what would be the best 3000k color h3 led? i want it to keep the pattern of an halogen bulb but to also have an resonable wattage like everything under 55w would do it
The only thing led I'm putting on my 04 Silverado is the hi beams. I do a lot of night driving in the winter and need the heat from the old bulbs to melt snow.
...so many ppl overlook this, especially in the snow belt and/or mountains. When snow/ice starts sticking to the front of the vehicle, and it's dark out, the last thing you want are caked over head/fog lights. 55w (low beam) halogen bulbs produce a significant amount of heat and 65w high beam bulbs even more so...
Thank you for the video, my car is not equipped with fog lights, I do have the led projector headlights. Are the headlights sufficient to drive in the fog? Thank you
I'm interested in upgrading my foglight bulbs, Which are h1,to the high beam and low beam bulbs, h1.. on my Honda odyssey mini van 2002,will I need a special relay for this ? Or,can it just be wired regularly ?
This would require special work and would honestly be a lot of work for a subpar result. I would recommend upgrading the fog lights with some nice LED bulbs and calling it there! www.headlightrevolution.com/s-v-4-led-headlights-h1-bulbs-HRH1V4_2
I think there's an increasing number of drivers like me who are finding it more difficult to drive at night. Low light at dusk is OK, but as the night gets darker I've noticed two conditions that are starting to feel unsafe.1) On very dark roads, especially if the road curves sharply to the right, it becomes difficult to see the right side curb or the right side edge of the lane. 2) In some cases on 2 lane roads, light glare from vehicles approaching uphill in the opposite direction overwhelm my vehicle's illumination of the right side curb or right side edge of the road. I think it would be safer (and would not affect oncoming traffic) if my vehicle could direct more light onto these right side of the road areas. So, I'm curious to know if I can accomplish this with directed fog lights, specifically aimed about 30-45 degrees to the right. Are there fog light kits that I might mount in place of my current ones that will direct their light in this way? I have two Toyota 4Runners that I would like to re-light in this way. Thanks for your very clear videos.
Most people would call this ditch lighting and is always an auxiliary light, some fogs are wider than others, for some nice wide wide fogs I would recommend the Morimoto XB LED fogs!
I highly recommend the Sealight brand for my Chevy Equinox factory projector fog lights. They are the XF1 type H11 3000K (yellow). Much, much brighter and excellent beam pattern.
Glad you like them, now you will have to try the S-V.4 Yellow LEDs, those things will blow you right out of the water! Link: www.headlightrevolution.com/s-v-4-led-fog-lights-h11-h16-bulbs-yellow-HRH11V4-FOG-Y_2?quantity=1

Very informative video. I went with the Morimoto XB LED Fogs. I recently upgraded my stock headlights to an aftermarket LEDs with black housing and the Morimoto should go well with the headlights.
Great explanation, Chris. One question though, why don't you guys like to use Diode Dynamics products in your output/performance comparison videos? For example, the SS3 fog assembly has killer output, especially compared to the Morimoto XB's (don't get me wrong, those are bright too, but SS3's in my opinion are the winner). Another great idea for a video would be to compare different fog light configurations, i.e., halogen vs. HID (35w vs. 55w.) vs. LED (2 stroke 2.0, S-V4, Ultra 2, SL-1, etc., maybe a few off-brands too) in OEM housing vs. LED assemblies like the Morimoto XB, Baha Designs, DD, etc., kind of like Diode Dynamics did in their fog light assembly shootout vid.
The reason that we do not use Diode Dynamics products here is that they are just a re-make of the Baja Designs products, and are not as bright as even those pod lights. We were just trying to pick one from each style of fog light, and the Baja Design is just the better fit for that style. Thanks for commenting, have a good one!
@@HeadlightRevolution Are the Baja Design really brighter than the SS3's? Paul seemed to prove otherwise in this fog light shootout video: ruclips.net/video/d5QAUkDtZEo/видео.html

Pls give a review for F5 led. I've been using F3 led for 2 years. And still alive. 10 hours straight driving. Now im using f5 led. I want to get your opinion in this bulb
I had LED foglights (EU) and threw them out. they were totally useless in actual bad weather. I got some new quality units from Valeo, bought a pair of yellow Halogen bulbs, now I have actual usable light for bad weather which is also legal as a welcome bonus. I'm still not sure about DOT regulations, it seems like everything is legal there.
Absoultely! The Ultra 2 has tested brighter than any LED bubl that we have tested in the past, and it comes with that lifetime warranty! You really cant beat it for the price!
Obviously there is a chance that they will not last as long if they ar splashed, they are splash resistant, not water proof. I would recommend agains purposely trying to splash them. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Same for my Focus! Osram CBB low's, White SV4's in highs, and Yellow SV4's in fogs... It just works... Though, I'm presently putting together a foglight projector retrofit to see if I can make it a bit better.
You should do a video comparing fog lights or regular headlights in a simulated fog fashion. Let people know which ones are best when the snow is pouring in the winter time.
I love your automobile tutorials on the various types of lighting you can use for the on road and off road vehicles that we drive, but my question and request is that I would like to add a rear red led fog lights to my 2018 Toyota 4runner TRD Off Road, would you have any recommendations? I live up here in Canada where our winters can be very cold and we also get extreme snow falls. I am well equipped in the light up front of my vehicle (Morimoto HID'S in my projectors, Diode dynamics SS3 Sport as fogs and Diode dynamics SL1 as my high beams) But I would really like to add for safety a pair of RED Fog LED's so I am visible from behind, thank you
I would recommend something small that will fit flush with that rear bumper, since you will have to be adding a light housing for this application. We will see what we can do, hopefully we will be able to get a video out for you! We will keep you posted!
Please can you try the Chinese brand because these most common in where we live and they are so cheap
Like 360 brand or aux beam or whatever
We will look into those, and see if we can get a video going for them! Thanks for reaching out!
Is the extra $100 for the gtr ultra 2.0 worth it over the hikara ultra?
Absoultely! The Ultra 2 has tested brighter than any LED bubl that we have tested in the past, and it comes with that lifetime warranty! You really cant beat it for the price!
Hikari Ultra dims once it starts getting hot. You need: not only a bright led but one with good heat management.
Does LED last longer if they get splashed?
Obviously there is a chance that they will not last as long if they ar splashed, they are splash resistant, not water proof. I would recommend agains purposely trying to splash them. Let us know if you have any other questions!
You can get a hid off road spotlight is it better than the led ones
As far a spot lights go, that may be true, but this video was just for the fog lights! Thanks for commenting!
@@HeadlightRevolution your welcome
I have 3000k led fogs and white headlights in my sierra and it looks great
Glad they are working for you, that is probably one of the most usable pairs of bulb setups! Let us know if you need anything else!
Same for my Focus! Osram CBB low's, White SV4's in highs, and Yellow SV4's in fogs... It just works... Though, I'm presently putting together a foglight projector retrofit to see if I can make it a bit better.
My low beams are the Sv.4 bulbs. Been running great for almost a year now.
@@Blue84Stang the rich yellow fog beam on the bottom just really fills in your 0-15ft vision and the side of the road.
@@HeadlightRevolution you guys should look into carrying the Sylvania Zevo bulbs because they are fantastic for reflector style swaps
You should do a video comparing fog lights or regular headlights in a simulated fog fashion. Let people know which ones are best when the snow is pouring in the winter time.
Sure!
I tried 8000k bulbs they were bright when looked at but for me didn't light up the road very well
8000k is going to actually be less bright, 4300-5500k would be the most desirable color temps!
@@HeadlightRevolution yup that's what I'm running now
I love your automobile tutorials on the various types of lighting you can use for the on road and off road vehicles that we drive, but my question and request is that I would like to add a rear red led fog lights to my 2018 Toyota 4runner TRD Off Road, would you have any recommendations?
I live up here in Canada where our winters can be very cold and we also get extreme snow falls. I am well equipped in the light up front of my vehicle (Morimoto HID'S in my projectors, Diode dynamics SS3 Sport as fogs and Diode dynamics SL1 as my high beams) But I would really like to add for safety a pair of RED Fog LED's so I am visible from behind, thank you
I would recommend something small that will fit flush with that rear bumper, since you will have to be adding a light housing for this application. I would recommend going with the Baja Designs S1 Flush Mount Pod LEDs, although they will not be red, they are the best option for what you are looking for! I have linked those for you here: www.headlightrevolution.com/Baja-Designs-S1-LED-Pods-Flush-Mount_2?quantity=1
If you have any other questions, shoot us an email and we will get you taken care of! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
Thank you for your quick reply, I will check out what you recommended..
Right on, glad we could help you out here! If you need anything else just let us know! Have a good one!
HID burned the plastic on my expedition fog light
So sorry to hear about that, did you use the 55W ballasts? If you did, that could be the cause of that, we would recommend LED over HID for the fog lights for that reason. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you, we are here to help!
I was not aware HIDs get that hot at the bulb itself.
👍🏼
As far as headlights you mean high and low beam
Skoda octavia 1.6 from 2013
I am sorry to say that we do not have that vehicle information on hand, but if you get me the bulb size for that vehicle I would be happy to get you a bulb recommendation!
Thanks for the information on the question about tail light#629546
No problem! I let Aaron know!
So wats a good led bulb?? Dis intro gone have me late for work
GTR Ultra 2.0!

LEDs do work better in some applications, thats for sure! Thanks for commenting, have a good one!
