I think that as well. Schmidt's character is just brilliant and he plays it so well. He is hilarious! He said he got lucky to get the part of Schmidt...He did get lucky, but the show got lucky finding him for the part. I might have to watch New Girl all over again now I've finished watching it on Netflix.

The context around that situation was even worse and it felt more gross and convoluted and I just plain lost respect for Ross as a man, and never really found it again. In Schmidt's case, he was still an absolute inconsiderate coward about his situation, but the difference in my opinion is that he agreed it was an idiot move and acknowledged it was wrong, eventually accepted it was all his own fault, and grew over time. That's the other thing, too; if there hadn't been enough distance in time and in their own individual relational pursuits, I would have been disappointed with Cece's character for just settling. Their ultimate pathway to getting back together was by being actual good friends, and knowing themselves WAY better than before all the chaos. New girl is the “Friends” of my generation. It’s utterly perfect in every way. Even a little bit older coworker that I thought would not be the demographic absolutely loves this show. It’s the characters and how good the writing is for those characters.

Honestly one of my favorite characters ever . He makes you cringe he makes you laugh and you just can’t for the life of you help but love him . Such a fun loving character with how neurotic he is and how detailed he is. Such a unique and special character.

No single, individual character was the show. Each character played off the other and it was an ensemble cast. If any one character carries the show, they would’ve easily attempted a spin-off.
So good on new girl, played the role so good. Miss the show. Wish season 7 wasnt rushed and was longer. Just didnt seem like enough. Max is great on the neighborhood as well. Glad he found a new show to do.

So yeah, I sort of live in this weirdly large apartment for LA with these incredibly well written people, and hell yeah I’ve taken the character quiz and am a total Jess.BOOM!
