I literally started to tear up at this. Because I could've used this message over a decade ago. I'd second guess myself. I'd stress over how I could be a better mom for my kids. I'd pray to God for the wisdom and guidance to be the mom they needed. And STILL, every night, I'd go over the day and think of how I could have been better at this or that thing. Being a mom was my dream job. Literally it's all I wanted to be growing up. I wanted to be a mom and raise happy, healthy kids. My kids are mostly all out of the house now, and I think I did do my best. Especially as even my 17yo loves to hang out with me and I get compliments on what great people they are. And yet I still second guess myself. Thank you. I'm going to start having a mantra of "It's ok. You're normal."
I've just had my second baby nearly two weeks and a five year old starting school in less then a week for her first year and watching this made me so happy thank you! I'm freakin normal!

Last Saturday, I was at a local college, attending a one-day writer's workshop. While I was waiting to register, a mother dropped off her teen to attend a comicbook workshop in the same building. As she was leaving the building, I suggested an upcoming comics arts festival that the teen might enjoy and get encouragement from (since many of the vendors were New Adults making comics in college). I ended the conversation by telling her she was doing a good job as a mom, because moms (and dads) never hear that enough.
yes! mom of four girls here, 6,5,3, and 1 years old. All are very emotional, the older two are starting to have some major attitude, the three year old is right on the edge of being potty trained but im still finding wet spots and clothes full of poop thrown random places and im more likely to find the one year old on the top of her sister bunk bed, the table, or the keyboard on her dads desk than the floor. oh and last night she came strolling out of her room at 10pm, i think great she can climb out now. no she didnt climb out the top, in 2 hours she somehow managed to turn a tiny 1/4 inch tear in the side of the playpen into a hole big enough for her and her blankets to crawl through... but i love them more than life and like you said wouldnt trade it for anything, but pray for me. lol

I think I have family members that expect my brain to function the same but they don't realize it's smashed half the time like that egg lol My memory sucks a lot bc I only have so much brain power and I need to save that memory for most important things.
