- This short documentary follows Quebec band Harmonium as they tour California in the mid-'70s with then-Premier René Lévesque in an effort to promote the province as well as introduce the group to the world's biggest music market. Here, we follow the ups and downs of Harmonium's promotional efforts and hear some of their music.
Directed by Robert Fortier - 1979
Les Cinq Saisons is one of the best records ever recorded.
I don't understand the lyrics but holy shit this music is amazing
I was unware of their music until 1988, when my francophone girlfriend at the time introduced them to me. Blew my mind. To this day, their music still brings tears to my eyes.
what a gem, I love Harmonium 70s stuff, great find.
As an American I can truly say it was our loss that this wonderful music wasn’t better known.
wow these guys are great
Never heard of these guys before, so I’m happy to have found this. Too bad the group didn’t last.
Thans for uploading this in english.
I do not understand a word, but after 30+ years I looked again , and found them in Utube....a bit sad, that still Quebec culture is not fully apriciated....
@Adolf Hitler Interesting name choice
Serge Fiori quit the band shortly after this…I wonder if he was unhappy that the US tour didn’t materialize…there was probably a lot of pressure to anglicize the lyrics, which he seemed unwilling to do.
I must say/ je dois vous dire. This vedeo needs an adequate translaton./Ce vidéo à besoin d'une translation adequate.
Too much curious to see questions like "oh, how do you think that americans will react when they listen a music in other language?"
Until today, nothing changed.
Americans, in general, forggoten that there is other countries in the world and others languages. Seems that they are very ignorant.
French music except for Bayou was never MY taste, even after all these years. Piaf was an exception. Many are listening to Mongolian and Tuvan now. I prefer those. It seems some French are still very rude.
Harmonium no es música francesa!!😉
Kinda pathetic...aged badly...NFB was always dorky...what an embarrassment, really. Too bad for this great band ( Rene Leveque reminds me of my grandpa...
