Nice video! I just completed my bootcamp and not being able to land a job made me thought I should get a masters before getting real world experience. Now I can prioritize my needs. Thank you!
Kevin here (the one you bumped into at all those HKSA events at BU) Most likely not the target audience here - but it's dope that you started content creation. Hope you connect with and help like-minded folks and good luck! :)
Hey Kevin, thanks for reaching out! I hope you're doing well and I appreciate the kind words. Content creation is still very new to me, but I'm learning a lot and am hoping to help as many designers as I can moving forward!
Very informative and comprehensive! I’ve been trying to find thoughts on getting a masters in ux or not and this has helped a lot compared to a lot of other info out there. Thanks!
I’m Japanese and My personality is the opposite of “super smart study Japanese boy” I’m already stupid in Japan but study this in Canada…. So challenging…. But I think I wanna try so first I’ll go to college in here. Then maybe transfer to university to get bachelor of marketing, programming, HCI or something then maybe I can decide if I wanna get master of UX. I came here without knowing how to spell hello and my Eng is like 5.5 in IELTS… I have to get 6.5 in 2months and go to college…… I barely graduate high school in Canada 😂pls wish me luck….

I'm currently in the process of pursuing a degree in Computer Science but I don't really like to code so I am interested in UX. However I don't have much knowledge in this field and I'm not sure if it's something I can teach myself well enough to be able to get a job in it after my bachelors. Would you recommend me going after a Master's in it?
Same. I'm a CS Engineer too and currently working. But I don't enjoy the coding part. I'm more of a designing person. I'm so so confused if I should go gor Master's, and where do I do it.

And right now I am studying in the Master of Interaction design program at the University of Queensland. It is a great program, But due to border closing, I am thinking about deferring the program to the next intake. If you have any doubts just let me know

I'm an Architect based out of India by profession, I'm totally fed up with my job and I'd like to switch to UX, do you recommend master's program and can i be able to land a job in US as an entry level designer with good project's and a worthy portfolio and no experience in UX before.
Hey! I am pursuing B.E. in ECE. I am planning for masters in UI/UX, or master's in human factors..... Will I be able to get admission in the universities after coming from an ECE background...which is completely a different field
Of course you can most HCI master's take students from different disciplines. I started applying for the fall and I got accepted for all universities that I applied for. I had a prior Sociology degree.
Can you tell me what is the eligibility criteria for getting into Master's in UX Design ? I am B.Sc. (Computer Applications) student, can I pursue it ? Please reply.
Yes, you should be qualified for a Master's in UX if you have a Bachelor's. Some programs are more stringent with requirements but you should be able to apply to most programs. Check the eligibility criteria for each program to make sure, but if you are uncertain, the best is to check with the program directors.
@@DesigningWithDerek I have no prior experience in UX, should I complete a bootcamp first and get some knowledge and then apply or I should apply straight ? Just curious
@@Rushil_333 Typically Master's programs do not require that you have previous experience with UX. Some might require a portfolio (namely programs like MIT Media Lab's program) but you should confirm the requirements in case.
