Chris, pouring from a container hack. Turn the container the opposite way you showed in the video (180 degrees). It seems counterintuitive but no more gurgling and spillage.
Haha! I also replaced the stock USB thumb drive with the Sandisk 1TB SSD, in addition to the extra storage, the i can also instantly transfer the footage to my phone using a USB-C to USB-C cable.
4:15 Even if you install a bigger drive in the glovebox, Tesla won't actually make use your extra storage though, right? It still always starts overwriting after 1 hr of stored footage, no matter how big a drive you have. That's what I've seen anyway. Unless there's a way around this limitation/bug that I'm not aware of?

11. Not buying the Tesla extended warranty when the limited warranty expires. My ‘21 Model 3’s heat went out 4 days after the limited warranty expired. 🤦🏾♂️ Timing was very unfortunate.
When I use the manual door release, I get a warning on screen saying that the door trim may get damaged. Not sure why this is the case
It's because it opens the door without lowering the window so it pushes into the trim! Should be good if you do it only a few times a year
Test it manually when the window is not in the fully closed position and then it shouldn't hit the trim. Like one inch or more works.
Does Tesla will auto park to our parking spot. If we are outside the car?

on the washer fluid, I think manual says not to use the bug one. Not sure how much difference this makes

Agree on all points except the navigation one. Tesla navigation sucks compares to Google Maps navigation (yes the map is Google however routing and navigation uses Mapbox). Some of the routes it picks are just baffling sometimes.

Apple Maps seems to provide better real time traffic updates and rerouting while navigating your a destination.
Which rims/wheel covers are you using for your model Y? I have the model 3 2025 non performance and got the brake calipers painted. Wanted to show them off better

I would suggest changing out the "open frunk" from the quick shortcut icon menu. I accidentally hit this one night while in bed and had to get up, get dressed, meander downstairs and close the frunk. If I didn't live in an apartment complex I wouldn't have cared but I have some goodies in the frunk I don't want to lose.
Good point. I just bought a used Model 3 and saw the "open frunk" icon on the phone app. Handy, but until I get the brakes sorted out to my liking, my 3 is at a friend's garage 35 miles away. If I hit that icon by accident, I either have to call him or drive 35 miles to close it myself.
It makes you wonder how many folks left their Tesla in the airport parking lot and hit that icon by mistake while on vacation several states away. Oops!
My Tesla head service manager recommended not to use a 3rd party drive since it may not record all of the info. It may also messed up the sentry system and he said to monthly format the 128gb usb stick.
Hmm prob depends on which ones. Zero issues with this one since it’s faster
@ yeah I would think it is foolish of Tesla to not be able to use 3rd party external drive with their tech. I bought a 2TB Lacie drive but decided to heed the service tech recommendation for now.

My biggest mistake was not properly testing for rattles before buying the Tesla. I have two rattles that are driving me crazy, but the service team cannot locate or reproduce them during a service visit. I managed to locate one, but it is hardly reproducible, it only happens on long drives! Model Y 2024 Berlin

Thanks for the informative review. I am a fan of Tesla products, and was anticipating the launch of the Model Y refresh. Having driven my uncle's 24 Tesla Y and experienced FSD, I don't need convincing that Tesla makes the best EV products (though I question the sanity of the Cybertruck). But unlike any other EV I feel that buying a Tesla is making a political statement for two people, Musk and Trump, who seem to be making it as impossible as possible to buy an EV by limiting government support of EV infrastructure, by curtailing incentives, by discouraging alternative energy. Why should I buy a car associated with antienvironmental concerns?
Only losers on the far left AND far right think a Tesla (or any EV) is (primarily) "a political statement".

I just bought my first EV, a 2018 Model 3 LR Dual Motor on 1-30-25. I WAS glad to get the $4,000 used EV tax credit before they kill it. (Hey, I'm no dummy!) 400 HP, great AWD, a long range, and low maintenance costs were my reasons. I don't give a crap if it's "green" or not.
How about having enough guts to be your OWN person and drive whatever the Hell YOU want!? Or are you another virtue signaller or someone who has to get someone's "approval" before you act. To be clear, Elon isn’t specifically against EV subsidies, he’s against all subsidies. Even the playing field and let the market decide which they prefer. The sheer amount of oil and gas subsidies are a big part of the reason the ICE vehicle industry continues to do as well as it is.
