    Let me tell you about my spinal fusions. That looks so painful to me! But, I was a baseball pitcher for years and my college coach (back in the mid 80's) asked me if I wanted to throw the ball harder. I said "hell yeah!". He replied, "Then throw it harder!!!". This reminds me of that :) Did I tell you about my Tommy John surgery?

    It's going fast in the right part of the swing most people swing fast early. Think the step drill is key to swinging fast at the right time💪💪

    Excellent video as always Milo. Thanks a lot.
    To help higher handicappers see better the difference between swinging the wrong way (ie throwing the hands alone down as fast as possible) and the way you recommend, could you please demonstrate the speeds generated by each to highlight how badly doing the wrong thing affects the outcome. Thanks Regards Ian
    PS Speed sticks are great as long as you don’t have arthritis in hands as an older golfer-they are difficult to hold well enough to generate speed

    How can this post only have 11K hits?? This is one of the best illustrations of power I've ever seen anywhere. You can feel the effort, yet it's combined with solid warnings about "tension"--the speed killer in most of us amateurs. I compare the "experience" of this lesson with being 10 feet from the 11th tee at the Riviera CC (LA Open) last year, and watching Luke List bomb a 340 yd drive. It's a violent event that shakes your soul. Thank you for letting us know what to do with our juniors, and how it's a lot of hard work that leads to that kind of speed gain. I'm trying to reach 100 MPH...I've been at 90-95 most of my life. Awesome post.

    Big fan of the super speed system. Love the content. Id be curious to see you do the same thing, except instead of swinging the sticks, do 20-30 jumping jacks. Ive found raising your speed “floor” is developed in the gym over a few weeks. Being able to hit the “ceiling” is a matter of proper warm up and increasing heart rate. However if you maintain your heartrate high, your body goes into “stamina” mode. Like a long distance runner. Ive found success treating a tee shot like a 1 rep max heavy lift. Those guys are trying to get their heart rate up to push max weight.

      It's an amazing show of force for someone not in his 20s anymore....and I think by 'old' you mean anything approaching 40. BTW, the lesson works, I've done it, and the injury warning is real. What happens is then when you swing normally you've got more speed than your previous normal. Not that much more for me...maybe 3mph or so...I'm up to about a 255 drive when I hit it solid. 2c.

    Milo....when you review your swing at 6.35 to 6.45 in slow motion it seems that you hardly applied any significant force to the club until around somewhere between left arm parallel and club shaft parallel in downswing and that everything in downswing that happened prior to that was the athletic transition move which you have talked about in several wonderful videos. Would you agree that you didn't really "turn it on" with your arms until that part of the downswing? When I have swung an alignment stick to get speed it ALMOST seems that if I have loaded properly and "waited" that the "swing" itself is coming unbelievably late in downswing, almost feeling like near impact itself. Is this "feeling" or the intent appropriate or accurate to max speed? Thanks so much

    Fast twitch muscles slow down fast after teeing up three off the tee!! Find your maximum swing speed in balance then use 85-90% of that speed! If you want to be a golfer, if you want compete in long drive competition follow his every word! IMO

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  5 лет назад

      Garth Downton you are correct but 85% of a faster max speed = a faster controllable speed. It’s no accident that the top players on tour happen to be some of the longest on tour as well.

    Please explain why baseball players swing a very heavy weighted bat before they step into the batters box and not a 5 ounce stick.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  5 лет назад

      They are just loosening up not doing speed training in the batters box. When the speed train they use fan bats or heavy bats coupled with a light weight bat. Same concepts as sprinters pulling parachutes and sprinting down hills

      @@sir_nicks_allot_8902 Years ago my brother was a really good baseball player and at home he would swing a weighted bat for hours and while it's not scientific with radar guns, etc. you could definitely hear his playing bat make a much louder sound right after he finished a workout than before he started it - MUCH LOUDER - in fact, before he went through his weighted bat routine, you could barely hear his playing bat at all.

    • @bitario723
