  • It's good to know which fret you're on, but carving numbers into the fretboard isn't always a great idea.

    I’m always amazed at the variety of instruments that land on your workbench. Thanks for the morning dose of all things guitar.

    It's funny how varied Ted's playing is at the end depending on the instrument. One day its blues, the next day jazz, and the next some rock solo

    I found the re-strining advice particularly interesting having, as I do, a modern Triolian Polychrome and a slot-headed Yairi NY0021. Thanks

    Once again a great job. All I can say is... you just get to the point where you think you might finally have all the types of Guitars you need... and then you hear one of these. Oh well... here I go, searching for another Guitar. Sheesh...

    I keep wondering how you can match colors this well and how you could have such still and dexterous hands, then I remembered you said you went to art school? Are you a painter as well as a master luthier? In any case it's a joy to watch you work. Thanks.

    This might be a long shot of you answering this but here we go. What would you use to clean the body of a triolian or a resonator that is painted?

    Part of me feels like I would have left the numbers since they're part of the instruments history

    I wrap my strings the same way you do and wish I had a nickel for every time I was told I'm doing it wrong.

    I wish my national from that era had that much paint. Sadly it's coverage is more like those patchy inside the cone cavity, only not so bright and shiny. It is due for a refret, but in almost 60 years ofl doing the work I've never done bar frets. Any hints or have you done a vid on it?

    • @twoodfrd
      @twoodfrd  2 года назад

      I've never seen an early National with bar frets. The ones I've refretted are from 1931 and 1935. They were original frets, and they were the regular t-shaped ones.
