the thing that just makes me calm is seeing how fast the train shoots into the tophat and I see the structure wiggle a bit from the speed love seeing when people use KNEX to make roller coasters
Great Adventure is my home park, and I’ve had the privilege of riding Kingda Ka many times. It will be missed, and you have paid it a tremendous honor! I saw its blinking safety light hovering in the distance off I-195 just six days ago.
What i love about this is how we can see the forces acting on the structure while the train is crossing the top section and the twist. It makes you really appreciate the work of the structural engineers
This is amazing this is probably my favourite build you’ve made you really out done yourself I can only wonder what your neighbours see when it was fully towered up
Wow, it even derailed at the end, insane Six Flags Great Adventure realism 😂. Amazing work m8, seriously. I played with knex as a kid and never thought something like this would be possible. Sorry to hear you didn't get to ride it. I was super lucky to get on it the last weekend it was operating.. A fantastic experience for sure. The launch was the best part in my opinion so you could still experience that intamin hydraulic launch someday on a different ride :')
The most beautiful tribute to the King of coasters. I never got the opportunity to ride this either and makes me so sad that I never will, I hope they replace it with something that honors kinda ka.
Very cool!! I am building a replica of the Skyride to a T. We should all get together and build the whole entire Great Adventure on 1 acre of land. Could you imagine.
You should definitely keep the model intact to some capacity (albeit you might just want to store it in small chunks). Ka is one of the saddest a ride losses in the past few years, so good idea to immortalise it as a working model.
Hi awesome video that replica of Kingda Ka looks amazing the effort put in to build it am hoping one day to get some K'nex and make a replica of a few of the coasters here in the UK
@CoasterObsessed HA! beat you to the comments section 😂 AND got Ryan to pin my comment haha, BEAT THAT _ _ _ (enter your name here i know Ryan’s name but not you lol)
12:00 looks especially awesome at 1/4 playback speed. That must have been one heck of a bulk order from K'Nex! I have several Screamin' Serpent sets downstairs in the locker room. And a couple sets that I can recall the names of.
I hope we get some decent magnetic launch designs in the future. The catapult on the new USN carriers looks insane, maybe we could see somthing like that in the future.
Brilliant,I,m from Blackpool and I have ridden Kingda many times, every time you are waiting for that launch I shat myself every time. What did your neighbours think?
People still use knex? I remember briefly playing with that as a kid and it always felt like a bootleg of a bootleg. Though I guess the only things made out of it that ever looked decent were the roller coasters
@@TransistorBased they stopped and went bankrupt in 2008 with the crash, then basic fun a bigger toy corporation brought the brand, unfortunately they haven't invested in it in years, now the community just makes there own parts
I’m 31 years old and this was my dream as a kid to re create Stealth out of the package set coaster I had (Ripping Rocket) and then the other bits of knex kits I had around. Unfortunately I just didn’t have enough to complete it. These coasters are impressive and shows your commitment to them! Especially your Hyperia build. Do you think it’s possible to make a launch coaster without the band method you have used? Maybe magnets or the battery powered boosters? Last suggestion- what about making a new coaster, your own design? But make it realistic- proper station, brake system, lift system? One that can continuously run with out human in put other than stop and go. Anyways, videos are fantastic Keep building because you are living my childhood dreams! Have a good Christmas, hope he brings you more knex!
the Kingda Ka launch strip is significantly longer than the dragster launch strip. The reason why it’s longer is because Intamin wanted to hit the top speed long before the winch in the launch system. Cedar point didn’t want to part with iron dragon or Gemini so they gambled that the train would hit 120 just as it hit the winch. They gambled and they won. At great adventure, Ka was built over a much longer section and it hits 128 long before the winch. Hundreds of feet before the winch actually. To assure the launch system has more than enough time and space to hit 128. I feel you built this launch system a little too compact as if it was dragster. You wouldn’t have known that. The camel hill is proof of that. You had the shape correct the first time but when you made it the proper height, it lost the correct arc. You still did better than perhaps anyone else who ever attempted this with kinex.
Top Thrill Dragster is the same ride,Cedar Point Sandusky,Ohio so it looks like they have shut that down also. However they have built a new one Top Thrill 2 that is faster and taller set to open in 2025.Cedar point is the place to go.18 coasters and a massive waterpark separate admission for that set on lake erie one of the great lakes.

That looks so good! Rip kingda ka 👑
The final build was way taller than I expected, bravo
Awesome! Crazy to think this coaster is so big that scaffolding is needed, and that last turn has some nice laterals!
Always impressed at how fast you build. Excited to (hopefully) order some new colors of tubing soon. And sorry about your GoPro!
Thank you! It always feels like it takes a long time to finish my projects. But I guess it's not too long. When are you back building again?
I remember building the 2m(ish) tall blaster coaster kit years ago - this is like the extreme version of that! Love it!
RIP Kingda Ka but at least we have this amazing recreation!
Absolutely incredible build😍
Your neighbors are just wondering what you've come up with today
They love it
Nahjhhhh
it’s giving phineas and ferb 😂😂
Incredible work, thank you for sharing your passion!
Thank you very much!
Wow, VERY impressed at the height you managed to get it to let alone got it working! Nice work!
Thanks!
So glad there was a pov in this vid!
This bought so many memories back. Thanks for making my Christmas
Happy holidays!
Looks incredible 🔛🔝🔥🔥🔥
1 year from now: I‘ve built a full functioning 1:1 VelociCoaster Knex replica in my backyard 😂
The dedication you put into this is amazing!!!! 🤩

@Clyde__Frog there are 2 people working on real magnetic launches, best know I'm paying them to make me a working one when they are done 😂
Ngl that twist is a neck breaker
Good job
Make stealth or hyperia from thope park
This is dope. It goes over the top so fast that if this was the real coaster, riders would be thrown into the stratosphere 😂
Insane build, you have outdone yourself once again! (Whats the next project going to be? 👀)
this thing is just epic. your gopro might have come out better if you had been able to put the magnetic trim brake fins on the airtime hill 😂
Trop beau
Belongs in a museum
Impressive!!
Just wondering do Knexmore ship to the Uk
yes! but shipping costs outside the US can vairy depending on country, so just check the shipping page before you checkout.
This is insane

Tha ks for the comment! I've made a string and band lau ch that's similar to hydrolic before but they lack the power that's needed for a 27ft build

Wait no station or cable launch?? You should put the time in for those details to make it perfect. It’s not to difficult to make.
