Phase 2 too soon. Only 10% at max level Even if we don’t count the accounts that quit the game. 10% at max level still seems far too low. We need 4 or 6 months in each phase, not just about 2 months. What percentage of accounts have one character max level of 25, that actually played at least twice a week? Is it just 15%? Rushing through each phase, by making them only 2 months is too fast based on the player stats. From the stats we can see we are: making casual players not able to keep up in this casual mode. SOD is amazing for new players, so let’s make each phase 4 or 6 months to not gatekeep casual players from the casual mode of SOD. Preferably 6 months per phase while adding new simple things half way through each phase to help keep phase feeling fresh. Preferably 6 months, but least compromise on 3-4 months for each phase due to the evidence. P.S. Sounds like it would be interesting but I just can't bring myself to support Activision Blizzard these days. It's just too late for them to redeem themselves at this point. Supporting censorship, showcasing monstrous amounts of greed, and not listening to players/assuming you know what they want instead of catering to them for many years is not how you run a business. Imagine if I had a Mexican restaurant and refused to serve burritos because I personally didn't like them so I only sold tacos and despite people not caring for my places lack of options I blamed my declining sales on their stupidity instead of my own ignorance. That is not how you run a successful business. I get that they have the IP value but there is a reason many private servers have higher numbers of active players than the official ones and it isn't solely due to the paltry $15 a month. The hype around the "Season of Discovery" is there currently but only because retail WoW is a shadow of it's former self and the game is basically a glorified single-player experience at this point where you can nearly roll your head on your keyboard and still manage to hit the level cap.

I don’t understand why people say it’s casual It’s the opposite I play both, but mostly classic right now, and retail is way more casual. It’s way easier, and you can get to max lvl in a day. Gearing takes way less time than leveling too Meanwhile Classic you’re against the clock. If you don’t keep with the pace of others leveling you’ll miss out on raiding.

Just put dual talent spec.. makes the game x100000 more fun and it is also another much needed gold sink. Also, i really hope they nerf engineer and sappers to the ground for next phase..
Actually pretty great point regarding goblin engineering, I’ll make my paladin the sapper bot so I can actually use the fun stuff in gnomish eng on my feral Druid.
This was also my biggest takeaway. My main is a gnome warlock, so I'm ready for engineering there, but needing a goblin engineering alt had not occurred to me, so my shadow priest alt will now be doing that.
I hope that we will see plenty new recipes with the coming phases. It would be nice if one profession could craft bows, like Blacksmithing or Leatherworking. And as a Hunter player I hope we will be able to tame new exciting pets with new pet abilities.
Been getting super lucky farming the elite dwarves and them dropping blues selling from 50g - 100g per piece. Also made a "phase 2 bank supplies" alt and literally just funneled him all bunch of white items that may get used in phase 2 like fish oil did in phase 1.
Everyone keeps saying seasonal server ..... didn't blizzard confirm that all SoD toons will live on SOMEWHERE??? I swear I remember hearing that in one vid

Its going to be fun and all sure. .. but its such a shame bots, goldbuyers, and gdkps are ruining this game slowly but surely. Ill still enjoy raiding and pvp with my friends and all, but a ton of other fun aspects of this game are dead unfortunately due to bots and bad players
I started playing classic when it released, gave up after seeing tons of mages flyhacking ZG. Came back later on cuase i enjoyed the game.. In WOTLK Classic P1-> P2 Prices increased 10 times over due to DK bots being rampant in botanica. This will be the reality people are facing, yet they do nothing to make sure Blizzard actually does anything. The same issues that were reality in 2019, is happening over again.. nothing has changed and people thinking it has are delusional. I quit after LK HC died the first time, not wasting my life away playing a game where devs care more about profit than fun.
Yeh it sucks. I have not tried SOD because i know it Will be Just as awefull as wotlk was. Needing to outgear everything or buy gold to do shit was not fun. I started late in woltk but still got declined for naxx runs Even tho i could join gamma dungeons for example.
I got an addont to ignore gdkp, gold sellers and other spammers, so i dont even see them. Its the best addon i have tried out in SoD. GDKP spammers ruined my experiance in Era.
I just play with my guild, i rly dont give a flying fuck about aboutside of raids & pvp fun with my guild/friends. Economy is already rly bad. it only gets WAY worse. and i couldnt care less :)
Just do the weekly ashenvale quest. Gives 1k rep so will still take 21 weeks to make it till exalted without wsg farm but atleast ull get it eventually
We dont know what lvl 40 brings maybe Gnomeregan has better blue Items then the wsg rewards or the PvP Event has a new faction with better rewards.. I wont spend so much time in wsg

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind armor class tokens if there’s another set like BFD had because the loot has been terrible. It’ll be even worse with plate at 40.
I imagine blizz will do something to even out the advantage of the 240 engi scope, so horde can get something on the same level without having to buy it on the neutral AH.
@@WillEmmo what makes you think Blizzard will allow us to specialize in gnomish/goblin engineering? blizzard limited us to 150/150 in phase one and i doubt they're gonna allow engineers to roam free destroying the game with sappers and death rays, forcing everyone to pick it up or get fucked in pvp. my guess is that they will delay our ability to specialize our engineering until phase 3. you'll be able to level it to 225/225 like every other profession sure, but i think they're gonna make a special exception for engineering, and honestly i hope they do because sappers completely trivialize all pve content even at 60!... if this is the case and horde cannot access the best stuff in engi, they will definitely not allow alliance to either.

Ive restarted so many times in SoD at this point, havent even done BFD! Failing at finding a "home" aka a guild, but having fun nonetheless when I do pop on. Hope I stick to Phase 2 a bit harder.

What i'm really concerned about will be the shift in PvP meta if following things wont be adressed: Gnomish Mind Control Cap and Gnomish Deathray, as only Gnomes will be able to craft them (which would actually fit RP ironically, lol). These 2 items are a game changer even at lvl 60 and if they stay in their current state, they're just plain nuts! So either if you want to stay true to RP, they need to be heavily nerfed, as in damage from deathray and stuntime from helmet, or they need to be craftable at 245 (which btw Goblin Rocket Helmet is already), so nobody will get access to them. Otherwise you will see Gnome Rogues camping Flags left and right in AB and WSG and oneshotting everyone in their way with cold blood evisc and deathray.
As a veteran of classic I think I like the idea of blizzard minimising the importance of gold by methods they have used in SoD as opposed to legalising the sale of gold as a method of combating bots and illegal RMT. But the existence of GDKPs will always drive up the need and price of gold. To me I really just cbf'd dealing with another "classic" like economy which only got worse as the expansions went on. I think Back in 2004 the crafting systems in place etc allowed for good fun gameplay in terms of managing and mining gold. Today I think I would enjoy playing an MMO which just straight up didn't have a resource that was so heavily necessary and so easily bought and sold with real world money. I only want to play the game, I don't want to pay to win.
So you basically prepare yourself for the big raid by doing dungeons and getting some blue gear, whats so crazy about it ? Half of the fun in WoW is getting the loot you need, then trying it in pve or pvp.
@@qlida4465 we have no such problem on living flame. all the bots have been eradicated and the server is locked, the economy is stable and things are affordable and sellable af. its great. hope they never open it. for example, a fap is about 29-30 silver, a shadow prot pot is about 20 silver or less, and these are the most expensive consumables there is, so i'd say we're blessed. totally worth sitting in the queue on launch day. we had a lot of bots the first 2 weeks, but now they've all been shadowrealmed and are campaigning on the forums for living flame to open so "they can play with their frensss". get fucked.

For that matter though, I’ve got about 10 days of played time across 8 characters on Crusader strike and lone wolf. I’ve not come across bots in SoD NEARLY at the rate I encountered botting in TBC Classic at its launch. Just don’t think it’s the issue people think it is.
I know tribal leatherworking isn’t available at 40 due to the crafts requiring 230 LW. But I believe elemental LW should be available, and then you can use the book in Tanaris to change your profession mastery to Tribal. I’ve tried to research this concept, and from what I know to change your profession mastery, you don’t need to hand in the craftables if you do it through this method. I assume cause the handin quests aren’t repeatable so you could theoretically soft lock your character from a specialisation if they required you to recomplete the quest. Does anyone else know if my theory will or won’t work? I’m stacking materials to relearn LW so I can try it, but it would be nice to get confirmation.
@@iamshawbam1874 huh, looking it up, there are sources saying that you don't need tribal leatherworking to craft the helm. It was changed in TBC but I can't find anything to support it was changed in classic. I guess I'll check when P2 launches, whether I can just learn the recipe from the tribal vendor without specialising. And if not, go through with my plan to swap to tribal leatherworking. I'm hoping it does require the swap because I want to try make a living off selling the helmets in the first couple of weeks where they will be at their highest in value.

so genuine question. i started off playing wow on the re release in 2019, and quite frankly i HATE the leveling in the game but enjoy the endgame a crap ton... ive been avoiding SOD since lvl 25 raiding sounds like ass to me but would 40 be worth investing my time into the game now rather than waiting for the cap to hit 60?
I mean if you have the time to blast 1-60 when last phase launches go for it. I'm loving the phases approach since I can't invest hours every single day.

@@sensainarutoable just invest in each phase. 1-25 is done in about 24h played ... easy time. 25-40 will be like 2 days of played i guess. so if you want to spend 7-8 days at once when 60 arrives, you are welcome. but now you could just do it prior
I really wish/hope that blizz sort out paladin buffs, please make our rais buffs 30 min 😢 i stopped playing as raiding is just no fun having to buff every 5 minutes (sure fix shammy totems too)
1# warrior with good gear,they become unslowable/unrootable with warbringer and berserker rage to get out of fears(fears are actually #1 counter to warriors atm lol),stuns are really not stopping a warrior since we do burst instead of constant dmg,enjoy windfury sweeping strikes mortal strike cleave charging around entire battlefield. #2 warlock,they will be unkillable and will drainmana everyone,50% cast speed slow from curse of tongues making everyone spam decurse/not able to cast,and dot everyone from 30 yard range,while also having deathcoil,fear and howl of fear. #3 can be anyone really, hunter pubstomp with unccable pet which is going to be even tankier with imp mend pet and spiritbond, rogue unkillable in 1v1 with double blind,double vanish,kidney+cs+new rune with prep,just hope they dont get clos, could even be mage or hpala/disc priest

Every single phase that gets released inflation will be wild, as it is already an established economy being overflodded with even higher amounts of gold will mean to massive inflation. they need to figure out the sniper scope schematic. As it stand now (yes people have it in game ty to fishing) only gnomes will be able to craft it. With a 225 skill cap and the recipe being 240 to learn, only gnomes will be able to make them. A solution to this would be drop learn skill level to 225 so both factions can have it or bump the learn level to 245. Outside of SOD this was never an issue due to being able to level skills to 300 at lv 35. Needs to be addressed. Before anyone starts bitching well then make a gnome... I will if I have to and since this is an extremely rare recipe right now be prepared to pas 150G plus per scope... and thats alliance side. imagine the nuetral ah prices these will get to for horde side
Didn’t stop people from getting Humberts helm horde only drop through the neutral ah. Horde will just have to pay the 65g+ for a scope that alliance had to pay for the helm.

its still classic, not everyone has the same things, horde had rend buff and wf in classic and alliance had palys and not so many degens. why do you want everything to be the same everywhere? that would just be retail and that sucks.
Is it just me, or does this make anyone else already feel defeated? I'm a very casual player at this point (playing since 2005) and whenever I log on, I am woefully undergeared compared to anyone else in the group. This whole game has just become a race to the top and being elitist on nearly every front.
But classic wow was also elitist. I remember being part of a guild where I never got into MC because I didn't play enough hours in the week. My first raid was Karazhan in TBC, and it was the only raid because our guild was too small to do the 25 man raids. In WOTLK I took a break, came back with ICC, and couldn't join because I had no Ulduar/TOC gear.
Sad that no matter how different they make this season, the players will without fail devolve it into the crappy classic we already remember, only difference so far...... We get a boon right away.
@@wickeddrac7489 Private servers aren't as profitable as the offical ones. And they surely can fix the bot problems. But it means you lose freedom by either them locking down ways bots can trade and farm, which will affect players as well, or increase warden's intrusivness so it can preform better detection and auto ban bots. Are you willing to accept some lock downs in game or blizzard deeper access into your PC to stop botting?

I have never understood why players can’t just use grenade, sappers and stuff It does not make any sense. IRL engineers invent and craft but all people using bombs aren’t even close to engineers 🤣 Blizzard, will you be making some engineers craft like dynamite, sappers etc available for non-engineers to balance out this overpowered profession (bis in pve) I thought that SOD, was a way for you to lure people into focusing more on their professions like blacksmith etc. Another option would be to create an equivalent for every professions because I do not intend to drop mining or skinning for my blacksmith or leatherworker respectively

im hearing they adding a lvl 40 2h sword to blacksmithing... not many swords available at that lvl.. its all axes.
Expectations: Every class is op
Reality: Physical classes and especially Warrior are op
PVE only. But in PVP - Priests, Warlocks, Druids are very strong.

I got an addont to ignore gdkp, gold sellers and other spammers, so i dont even see them. Its the best addon i have tried out in SoD. GDKP spammers ruined my experiance in Era.
I just play with my guild, i rly dont give a flying fuck about aboutside of raids & pvp fun with my guild/friends.
Economy is already rly bad. it only gets WAY worse. and i couldnt care less :)

Just do the weekly ashenvale quest. Gives 1k rep so will still take 21 weeks to make it till exalted without wsg farm but atleast ull get it eventually
We dont know what lvl 40 brings maybe Gnomeregan has better blue Items then the wsg rewards or the PvP Event has a new faction with better rewards.. I wont spend so much time in wsg

You will not be able to learn gnom8sh/goblin engineering as it requires to become an artisian in engineering to start the quest
The quest should pop up with 200 skill + level 30 despite us not being able to advance to artisan
@@WillEmmo what makes you think Blizzard will allow us to specialize in gnomish/goblin engineering? blizzard limited us to 150/150 in phase one and i doubt they're gonna allow engineers to roam free destroying the game with sappers and death rays, forcing everyone to pick it up or get fucked in pvp.
my guess is that they will delay our ability to specialize our engineering until phase 3. you'll be able to level it to 225/225 like every other profession sure, but i think they're gonna make a special exception for engineering, and honestly i hope they do because sappers completely trivialize all pve content even at 60!... if this is the case and horde cannot access the best stuff in engi, they will definitely not allow alliance to either.
Rogues and Warriors will do even more damage (Warriors can already crit for almost 1k).
So expect some hunter nerfs.

Ive restarted so many times in SoD at this point, havent even done BFD! Failing at finding a "home" aka a guild, but having fun nonetheless when I do pop on. Hope I stick to Phase 2 a bit harder.
You do not need a guild for BFD I’ve pugged with randoms every lock out and never not got 7/7.

What i'm really concerned about will be the shift in PvP meta if following things wont be adressed: Gnomish Mind Control Cap and Gnomish Deathray, as only Gnomes will be able to craft them (which would actually fit RP ironically, lol). These 2 items are a game changer even at lvl 60 and if they stay in their current state, they're just plain nuts!
So either if you want to stay true to RP, they need to be heavily nerfed, as in damage from deathray and stuntime from helmet, or they need to be craftable at 245 (which btw Goblin Rocket Helmet is already), so nobody will get access to them.
Otherwise you will see Gnome Rogues camping Flags left and right in AB and WSG and oneshotting everyone in their way with cold blood evisc and deathray.

If they do the first ban wave (3 months for bots) and still let the full servers locked, a high number of bots will be gone
As a veteran of classic I think I like the idea of blizzard minimising the importance of gold by methods they have used in SoD as opposed to legalising the sale of gold as a method of combating bots and illegal RMT. But the existence of GDKPs will always drive up the need and price of gold. To me I really just cbf'd dealing with another "classic" like economy which only got worse as the expansions went on. I think Back in 2004 the crafting systems in place etc allowed for good fun gameplay in terms of managing and mining gold. Today I think I would enjoy playing an MMO which just straight up didn't have a resource that was so heavily necessary and so easily bought and sold with real world money.
I only want to play the game, I don't want to pay to win.

for example, a fap is about 29-30 silver, a shadow prot pot is about 20 silver or less, and these are the most expensive consumables there is, so i'd say we're blessed.

For that matter though, I’ve got about 10 days of played time across 8 characters on Crusader strike and lone wolf. I’ve not come across bots in SoD NEARLY at the rate I encountered botting in TBC Classic at its launch. Just don’t think it’s the issue people think it is.

I know tribal leatherworking isn’t available at 40 due to the crafts requiring 230 LW. But I believe elemental LW should be available, and then you can use the book in Tanaris to change your profession mastery to Tribal. I’ve tried to research this concept, and from what I know to change your profession mastery, you don’t need to hand in the craftables if you do it through this method. I assume cause the handin quests aren’t repeatable so you could theoretically soft lock your character from a specialisation if they required you to recomplete the quest.
Does anyone else know if my theory will or won’t work? I’m stacking materials to relearn LW so I can try it, but it would be nice to get confirmation.

@@iamshawbam1874 huh, looking it up, there are sources saying that you don't need tribal leatherworking to craft the helm. It was changed in TBC but I can't find anything to support it was changed in classic. I guess I'll check when P2 launches, whether I can just learn the recipe from the tribal vendor without specialising. And if not, go through with my plan to swap to tribal leatherworking.
I'm hoping it does require the swap because I want to try make a living off selling the helmets in the first couple of weeks where they will be at their highest in value.
From looking into this it seems the alliance quest requires different mats, which are lower LW reqs.

so genuine question. i started off playing wow on the re release in 2019, and quite frankly i HATE the leveling in the game but enjoy the endgame a crap ton... ive been avoiding SOD since lvl 25 raiding sounds like ass to me but would 40 be worth investing my time into the game now rather than waiting for the cap to hit 60?
I mean if you have the time to blast 1-60 when last phase launches go for it. I'm loving the phases approach since I can't invest hours every single day.

I wouldn't say lvl 25 raiding has been bad at all considering most classes have a more complex rotation than they did at lvl 60 in classic.

I think it's highly dependent on new runes but I could see meta locks with soul link being an absolute pain in the ass in 1v1s

1# warrior with good gear,they become unslowable/unrootable with warbringer and berserker rage to get out of fears(fears are actually #1 counter to warriors atm lol),stuns are really not stopping a warrior since we do burst instead of constant dmg,enjoy windfury sweeping strikes mortal strike cleave charging around entire battlefield.
#2 warlock,they will be unkillable and will drainmana everyone,50% cast speed slow from curse of tongues making everyone spam decurse/not able to cast,and dot everyone from 30 yard range,while also having deathcoil,fear and howl of fear.
#3 can be anyone really, hunter pubstomp with unccable pet which is going to be even tankier with imp mend pet and spiritbond, rogue unkillable in 1v1 with double blind,double vanish,kidney+cs+new rune with prep,just hope they dont get clos, could even be mage or hpala/disc priest

Every single phase that gets released inflation will be wild, as it is already an established economy being overflodded with even higher amounts of gold will mean to massive inflation. they need to figure out the sniper scope schematic. As it stand now (yes people have it in game ty to fishing) only gnomes will be able to craft it. With a 225 skill cap and the recipe being 240 to learn, only gnomes will be able to make them. A solution to this would be drop learn skill level to 225 so both factions can have it or bump the learn level to 245. Outside of SOD this was never an issue due to being able to level skills to 300 at lv 35. Needs to be addressed. Before anyone starts bitching well then make a gnome... I will if I have to and since this is an extremely rare recipe right now be prepared to pas 150G plus per scope... and thats alliance side. imagine the nuetral ah prices these will get to for horde side
Didn’t stop people from getting Humberts helm horde only drop through the neutral ah. Horde will just have to pay the 65g+ for a scope that alliance had to pay for the helm.

its still classic, not everyone has the same things, horde had rend buff and wf in classic and alliance had palys and not so many degens. why do you want everything to be the same everywhere? that would just be retail and that sucks.
Is it just me, or does this make anyone else already feel defeated? I'm a very casual player at this point (playing since 2005) and whenever I log on, I am woefully undergeared compared to anyone else in the group. This whole game has just become a race to the top and being elitist on nearly every front.

you can clear the raid in dungeon blues, so you're worried about the wrong things
But classic wow was also elitist. I remember being part of a guild where I never got into MC because I didn't play enough hours in the week. My first raid was Karazhan in TBC, and it was the only raid because our guild was too small to do the 25 man raids. In WOTLK I took a break, came back with ICC, and couldn't join because I had no Ulduar/TOC gear.
Sad that no matter how different they make this season, the players will without fail devolve it into the crappy classic we already remember, only difference so far...... We get a boon right away.

But it means you lose freedom by either them locking down ways bots can trade and farm, which will affect players as well, or increase warden's intrusivness so it can preform better detection and auto ban bots.
Are you willing to accept some lock downs in game or blizzard deeper access into your PC to stop botting?

Blizzard, will you be making some engineers craft like dynamite, sappers etc available for non-engineers to balance out this overpowered profession (bis in pve) I thought that SOD, was a way for you to lure people into focusing more on their professions like blacksmith etc.
Another option would be to create an equivalent for every professions because I do not intend to drop mining or skinning for my blacksmith or leatherworker respectively

Sappers won't be as good due to the hp scaling on mobs at that level. Engineering has been overall nerfed by the hp increase in SoD.
Recipes are locked at 150 right now though, so gnomes most likely won't be able to learn 225 or higher recipes.

I'm on living flame and chaos bolt and gdkps are not very common. Pugs and guild runs are more common
