I'm not sure how many of your viewers can appreciate the difficulty of that one legged full ground squat at the 6:12 Mark You made it look casual, but I can testify that that's no simple feat.
Man with the fall coming I wound love to see some fall jacket reviews, literally my favorite part of the fall, maybe a brave star denim jacket with the Sherpa 👀👀
Another nice review Nick. The Tanuki jeans look they are high quality. A lot of attention to detail with the multicolor thread used throughout production. If I were in the market for some jeans, I’d consider giving them a shot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...Ed..PS: I do really enjoy the new format of your videos. Great work!
Any plans to do the following like you do with boots? 1. Denim comparison or faceoff 2. Denim Care 101 3. Denim do's and don'ts? Like initial soak, cuffing, do you wear them for six months and then wash, etc
It's hard to denim comparisons since every company has a billion types of denim, but maybe if I got two brands with the same ounces, similar construction... Definitely planning on a '7 reasons why Japanese denim is so expensive' video soon, I do want to do a 'how to get the best fades' video and I'm trying to convince a company to give me some $700 jeans so I can do a WHY WOULD YOU PAY THIS video haha
They are a good price point and I have one of their denim jackets and two pairs of their denim trousers . Wee bit of quality control issues - however for the price not too shabby .
HI,....what are your thoughts on Blue Owl/Tanuki's jean collaborations.....ZBT "Yogiri" 14oz Selvedge Denim - Tapered Fit???? Looks nice but less details??
Awesome video. I’d love to try a pair of japanese selvedge jeans, but most of them looks a little baggy for my taste. Can anyone recommend me a pair of selvedge that has similar fit/silhouette as 512 levi’s?
@@Stridewise I would say so, especially the stretch. First time buying Japanese jeans I bought these and a pair of Momotaros in my American size 36. The Tanukis stretched out in a day's wear while I couldn't even close the waist of the Momotaros so I returned those. I think the sizing on the Denimio site said the Momotaros were larger based on the measurements, oddly enough. Having put on some weight I'm closer to 40" now and the Tanukis stretched to match. I would definitely recommend anyone interested to just get the Tanukis in whatever your American jean size is. Washing may change that though I haven't gotten that far yet.
Always enjoy your videos… do you have my reviews on Kato? They are made here in Ca and are sold at Nordstrom. Jackets and jeans (blade jacket and Pen Slim jeans are my fav)…… Any thoughts and recommendations would be great appreciated.
I’m curious, are you buying jeans with extra length for purpose folds or do you get just about the right length and fold it? I usually wear 32/32 with the length perfect my height I suppose (5’10). But looking at your jeans, it looks like I could wear 32/34 and just fold the length
Oh I order them unhemmed in case I need to return them, then I sometimes don't get around to hemming them. I should have gotten these hemmed! I say if you *can* get them the right length (while they're still returnable/unaltered) then do it but if you like to cuff!
Great video as usual. Very interesting jeans. I like thing with a story behind them. I just wonder if the Japanese ‘flag’ on the back pocket could be have them mistaken for a cheap pair of rip off Tommy jeans.
I am in my first Edwin 55's 14oz selvedged denim and can totally recommend them, the are very good quality! Also have a pair of Iron Hearts 888 21oz jeans and I feel the Edwins are close that quality, however Im kinda new to the selvedged denim scene so I only speak my own opinion :)
If you are into low rise jeans give them a try, they have nice discounts on their EU site as well. Quality was actually quite good for the price I've got them (ed-55 for 105€) but the rise was way too low for me so had to return them. Fortunately they covered the return shipping.
I think I found your fen lbs😕 They look nice but a little rich for my wallet. Rather have the boot you had on. Which boots are they? Cool info. Keep up the great work.
Stridewise Size 32 according to the fit chart is 86cm or 33.86” at the waist. So you measured them at 34” at the waist so that means they didn’t stretch much at all. If you’re waist was 33-34” when you bought these jeans, then the correct size would have been 30-31. All denim stretches so the waist measurement of the jeans generally should be 1” smaller than what you are. For example my raw jeans vanity size 30, it measures 33” at the waist. I am a 34” waist and they stretched perfectly to fit me.
Great video per the usual! I would love to see a $1000 challenge video from you! If you have $1000 to put together a solid everyday outfit (accessories count!) of high quality stuff like this... what would you do?
@@mtmatt6111 Yeah it takes a while. Lowering down from standing is helpful as you build up to it! Spending time sitting in a deep squat is also good for that hip/ankle flexibility
I wouldn’t recommend buying from Tanuki direct from the website. I contacted them to organise a return and they initially agreed to create a returns label to help. Then they ignored my emails. I ended up posting back at great expense. Very expensive lesson learned. They did offer a ‘gift’ on my next purchase. Hopefully they will refund the cost of the items minus the postage promptly.

Haha thanks man. The benefits of spending most of my 20s too broke to afford a gym membership, made me get pretty good at bodyweight stuff!
Love the slight change in video format you've made. Super professional and seamless.
Thanks so much! I have an old video coming out this week but after that it's back to the new format haha
Man with the fall coming I wound love to see some fall jacket reviews, literally my favorite part of the fall, maybe a brave star denim jacket with the Sherpa 👀👀
Haha I just did a waxed jacket review from Flint and Tinder that's going up soon. I might do Taylor Stitch's Ojai jacket.
Stridewise man that flint and tinder jacket I have been eyeing for a while too, did you get the lined or unlined one ?
Thanks so much for all details 🙏❤❤❤

Thanks Ed! I just went full time on Stridewise and decided they needed an upgrade :)
Stridewise Congratulations Nick! If anyone deserves continued success, it’s you!...All the best, Ed...
Damn Tanuki's color is so vivid in all the right ways but Momotaro has the accents that call out to me.
“My butt is very tall, and it also has a very nice taper going down it as well.” LOL 6:04. Noted!
HA it's a frankenbutt
Those are some nice looking jeans...thanks Nick!
Glad you like them!
Just my preference, I prefer this type of fit for my jeans and it looks great on you too
Please review their zetto b jacket 😭🙏🙏

Hey man, What brand of henley are you wearing?
That is a very vibrant color.
Faded but not at all faded. It's so interesting
@@Stridewise Exactly, I kinda love it.
Love the reviews! Any chance of seeing some reviews on USA made denim? Rogue Territory, 3sixteen, Railcar?
I'll give ya Bravestar!

Yeah Tanuki!!!
Had trouble catching the name of your third source, what was it?
"Lost weight during lockdown" what dark magic is this?
Joking aside enjoying these videos. Can't seem to find a local uk source.
Yo I bought the same jeans!
The actual jeans were much darker blue than the pictures on the website.
I was pretty OK with the color! What did you think of the video, does it reflect your opinion?

Maybe! They're pretty cheap, but I'm doing a bunch of leather bags this fall

Also whats that nice blue jacket you wear throughout the video?
Looks a bit like the flint and tinder unlined trucker?
What an eye, Gary! Yes, that's the Flint and Tinder Waxed Jacket. It's unlined, I'm doing a review on it soon!
Thanks guys!
@@Stridewise looking forward to it. Is it the same cut as the flannel lined version?
@@garymagill85 I think so, but I haven't tried that one

Can I ask what belt you are wearing.
What is your opinion on Edwin denim or does anyone else have a pair or had a pair i was thinking of buying a pair

What’s your height/weight? Usually I only see 32 waists on little guys, good for you!
What belt and boots are you wearing towards of the end? Thanks
Thursday's heritage belt and Grant Stone's Chelseas! I did a video on the chelseas ruclips.net/video/dfCmAsCiRbA/видео.html
@@Stridewise Great.....review on the belt? Would definitely be interested and there ARENT any online video reviews on the belts. Thanks!
Woudn't you have them taylored to fit now that they have stretched?

Grant Stone's Chelseas. Review next week! Glad you liked the video man
@@Stridewise Mountain Khaki paints are comfortable. Can get under $100 I know that might be lowering your standards😁 Thanks for the reply.
Did you use the fit guide? Because size 31 is a 33” waist.
Well when I got them I was a 33" or 34" waist. And the jeans also stretched a ton

How am I gonna buy a pair and size 2 inches down when I can’t even wear it? 😭
Tanuki was created by ONI and Denimio …
Nothing new sneakers! Yaaasssss queen lol but for reals those chelsea boots look like the mark albert ones, can you confirm this Nick? Lol
Grant Stone Earth Chelsea's
Thanks man!
You look like you’ve been squatting SUVs in the parking lot while the gyms have been closed. Looks like it’s the regular straight fit for me.
Haha you don't want to look like a quadzilla?
I’ll try the pistol squats but It will take a while before I have the hip flexibility to actually be able to do one.
