Yup, that's right. I love that story. The Philippines was never conquered through battle but it was subdued by treachery and deceit. Take the case of Spaniards and Americans. They used religion and gold to subjugate us. Although the Japanese initially won the first few years of the war. They were not very successful on holding control of our provinces. Thanks to our brave guerrillas. There will always be armed and stiff resistance from Filipinos. We were born as free men and we will die as free men.
