Another great episode and funny, you’ve mentioned the Flag-„thingy“; I’ve lived in Canada for 15years, in the USA for 10 and as a German (now living back home - unfortunately 😢), I totally admire the patriotism and American pride! In Germany there are not one flag-design for cross-stitch and matter of fact, National Pride is here considered with being a Nazi and flags are barely displayed! (Since I have children in Canada and in the USA - I proudly stitch patriotic designs ….and despite me, missing my kids, I thank God daily, that they live in a free country! 💞

Have a great visit with family! At least you have a lot finished, even if not fully finished. Me, I kit stuff up ready to go...then I end up doing something totally different...I only work part-time now, and I'm off for the summer so I hope I am able to get some stitching done! I'm one of your Canadian fans...and you're right; we're much quieter about our allegiance to Canada. That said, I enjoyed your talking about the stitching in "Grand Old Flag" -- first the clarification of Weeks "old" linen and Zweigart. I already knew about it but some might not -- and I've used both bases and had no problem with either. And second, that interesting stitch pattern created in both the roof and the walls of the house. I think that would be challenging -- to get it right, that is. One thread off either way and...!!! But the roof rather resembles the colour (and appearance) of the new shingles I had put on my wee house a year ago. Very realistic! Love it! I mean, yes; that tree in the other piece -- and all those wild flowers -- are "beasts" but that house in GOF -- Whoa! I admire your persistence!

Can’t wait to finally see you in person! I will be driving and plan on arriving Wednesday afternoon. I’m hoping there may be some antique shops nearby! @@saltboxstitcher I can’t tell you how many times a day I have a word fly out of my head. I always tell my husband to give me a minute & it will come to me. I tell people it’s chemo brain, although June will mark 8 years ago that I went through 5 months of chemo, so I may need to revise my excuse.

I prefer Zweigart, the old Weeks to me has a weird weave on the lower counts for me. Agree, you need to finish those soon. I stopped the video & subscribed to Mr. Saltbox :) Great Flag Parade! TY

Love all the patriotic pieces. I have done about all you showed except the big ones. I did american eagle and put my husband name and years of service. He retired as Colonel with 29 years in the air force and I framed alot of my pieces. When you showed City stitcher another time. I got it and it hangs on my wall. I decorate my house with red white abd blue. I did home of brave too. My favorite red is 221. Also schoolgirl sampler.

Carol, I could get lost in your Kitted Project for DAYS!!! So much fun to see all the joy that lies ahead. I have always been pretty much a monogamous stiticher but I am thinking if someone (hint, hint) would start a BBD rotation, I might be able to allow myself 3 or 4 WiPs at a time so I could get all the Blackbird projects started/finished while I'm still here! Hello from NC Carol…the same thing happened to me with the old Weeks linen..I almost trashed it, it was also Tin Roof. I was stitching the Blackbird Design “Strawberry Fields”…I put it down for a short time and came back to it, and finished and had it framed. I love it, but did not like stitching on the old Weeks linen. Please give a big thank you to Mr. Saltbox on the stills…fabulous! The stitching and the beautiful thread colors are so fun to take in slowly. Have fun with your sister, can’t wait to hear about your trip! Love patriotic stitching! God Bless the USA!

I did not know that counts of linen fabric have names, that is so cool! So I looked up 46ct Bergen and 56ct White Kingston. Thanks for the info! Also I agree I like to take my time and “slow poke” lol 😂 and when working on higher counts like 40,46,56 you’ll be stitching for hours then look at it as a whole and think “hmmm where’d the time go?”

Love your patriotic parade! Don't be so hard on yourself, Carol, about all the projects you want to stitch but haven't yet. We do have to sleep, prepare meals, keep our house somewhat clean, have time with family and friends, and in your case, work at your quilting business. There is only so much time in the day! Have so much fun with your sister. How fun that you share the love of stitching.
As one of nine, living near each other is the best. I could not imagine not seeing them so infrequently. Does she share your love of cross stitch? I have not done patriotic stitching yet but just love seeing it. It is still cool in Boston so please send us some warm weather. Have a nice trip.
My sister does stitch but it’s not her crazy passion like me, she’s more well rounded in her interests.
I always love to see your sewing, patterns and stash. I know nothing about woodwork but will give Mr Saltbox a watch. I don’t know why he hasn’t framed all those beautiful small samplers 🤔. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.

What i really came on here to say, and this is unusual for me because i seriously rarely notice one’s clothing, hair, makeup etc. I am a very plain jane 😂😂. But, i just want to say that the blouse you are wearing is perfect on you!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I love your blouse, especially the sleeves! I don’t know what it is that caught my attention other than the fact that you look very lovely today ❤️. You always look lovely, it is just something about this blouse that suits you to a T. Okay, I will hush now that I have probably made you extremely uncomfortable, which was not my intention at all. I am a tshirt and blue jeans shorts kind of ol redneck gal. That is 99.9% of my attire. If i have to “dress up” I get very uncomfortable and feel so totally out of place. I just wanted to compliment you on your attire.
