WOW 37 comments already - people definitely have opinions about this. Not to throw another wrench in there but there is also Wonderland 222 who also use TRP. I'm old so my FOMO is basically dead and buried and I have TOO many 2024 planners that I never even cracked open including a Sterling Ink and a Take A Note. This video was really fun to watch as this is my heavy workload day and I took a short break - it made me smile, laugh out loud and released a LOT of tension so THANK YOU! Enjoy your 2025 planner journey 😊
Oh my gosh the Wonderland 222, how could I forget! My current list of planner contenders is getting sooo long hahah! I am looking at the Take A Note as well ... where does it end?! 🤣 I am so so happy that this video brought you some levity during a stressful work day 💞 If there is ever a video you'd like to see, let me know! ☺
Going to get another Jibun Techo DAYS. It's just too comfy for me to let go of. I had no idea about the Kokuyo PAL planner! Thanks for bringing it up, I would have never seen it. I've been wanting a more horizontal design from them. That Yoseka site says they are going to be up for pre-order in August and I think I'm gunna grab one!
@@lillabjornstationery This year, I have a B6 slim. Last year's was the A5 slim. I like both but I am finding the B6 a little more confining against my comfort. Some days has me wishing for more room from the A5 slim.
Me too! Started with a Hon for an all comprehensive planner for a couple months. I knew I liked midori and campus’ paper much better than hobonichi. Let alone the tote bag they sent me had HOBO printed on there😭 so I switched to job jibun techo. Have been in it ever since! So in to tal 6 months, which covers both my school, work, admin, and all other stuff. My setup is a A5 lite weekly pink cover + diary b6? Yellow cover. I do weekly planing and monitor and modify my appointments and events along the way, and each day I copy the tasks and events into diary and also fill in for daily planning. I also do a rough monthly planning as well. I do set up habit trackers, but never use them.
I won't get the Sterling Ink, Papertess Designs, or others that are fabric bound with tons of pages, because they don't lay flat and don't have inner margins. That's a dealbreaker for me (as is TN). I wanted to try a weeks-style last year but I don't like cream paper and quotes, so I went with the Kinbor weekly which is the same size as Hobonichi Weeks and has the same basic layout. (It has a more usable calendar/index at the front with the 12 months over 6 pages instead of crammed on 2 pages.) I like the paper but it's not the same as either the tomoe river old or new sanzen style. It does take gel pen and fountain pen very well and dries quickly.
I absolutely LOVE the Kinbor weeks! Such great paper (better than TRP, IMO), no quotes, great layout and CHEAP! The only downside is I never like the covers.
@@scf7334 Yeah, the designs aren't as eyecatching as Hobonichi and fewer options. They usually have a couple of neutrals. For 2025 I like the bamboo cover with gold foil accents a lot.
I watched your other video on the paper, and I wanted to share that none of my Sterling Ink planners that also use the new paper have that problem. I'm wondering if it's possibly an issue with Hobonichi's paper specifically, as I've always heard they have a slightly different 'special' formula than 'regular' Sanzen TR. I've absolutely globbed ink and paint onto some pages and there's zero bleedthrough.
Your comment has me shook (in a good way) right now! I always assumed that if I disliked the new TRP from Hobonichi, that I would dislike it across the board. Your comment has given me hope that I can try a new brand and enjoy the TRP 😊💗
2024, I had too much going on With multiple planner brands and getting too caught up in the planner hype by buying and overconsumption . I will do Jibun Techo Days & Biz with all Jibun companion items. This will cost me less and simply gets the job done. No more and no less. Go A5 size! If it’s too much space, toss some stickers in it!
I too get caught up in the planner hype - especially when there seems to be new planner companies popping up all the time! It sounds like you have a really good plan heading into 2025. Also, I think you might be right regarding purchasing the A5 haha 😆
@@user-qk5od5fq1j Thank you for this comment! I completely forgot about the Nolty, but it is also a planner I was considering! What has been your experience with the Nolty so far?
@@lillabjornstationery It'll be my first time next year if I go for it xD TRP-S is beautiful and the Hobonichi layout is pretty, but it's lacking the memo pages that I need for my trackers. I might really go for the 6323!
I don't personally, but I've seen so many videos on the Sterling Ink planners and they look lovely! But they also use the new Tomoe River S paper which you might not like
I have a sterling ink 5 year and I love the feel of the paper. But I don't really know the difference in the tomoe river paper before and after. I think the weeks I bought (a 2023) was the old paper and I didn't care for the feel of it. I like the kokuyo papers... The sterling ink is maybe a touch thinner than the kokuyo paper and I love it.
PAL is a great planner. But another option for a portable planner is the Creffective Paper weeks size planner which is lovely with marshmallow paper. Another option is the A6 TAN which is half page per day with a horizontal weekly overview on it. It’s a week on 4 pages and it’s 68gsm TRP. If you don’t like the Sanzen TRP you wouldn’t be interested in Sterling ink, Papertess or mine. 🫥
Thank you for those amazing suggestions! Your planner looks lovely 🥰 I am thinking of giving the Sanzen another go; I heard recently that Hobonichi's Sanzen paper is slightly different than others (the comment mentioned that they coat it in something), and I think that could be a reason why I did not like it. I will also take a look at the Creffective weeks, thank you 💓💓
Glad you posted this. It's always fun seeing people think (aloud) which planners worked and which didn't and what they want to buy for next year.
What a sweet comment! I am so happy you enjoyed this video ☺💞
Thank you for doing this. It was the best one I have watched while waiting on my payday to purchase my new planner for 2025.
So happy to hear you enjoyed! 🥰

The Sterling Ink and Papertess doesn't lay flat? 🥲🥲 Thank you for letting me know, there's so much to consider haha!
@@lillabjornstationery I mean, they say they do, but because the books are 400-500 pages thick, it's not as truly flat as a daily or weekly planner.

A Nolty Ecri A5 Memo, a Nolty Business Basic Diary, or a Hobonochi Cousin Avec. I only need one.
