Thanks for including us again Maddie! So jealous of your beach adventures! 😁 If it’s not inconvenient would love to see more of the similar shells side by side to compare again, like you did with the wentletraps in your video. ❤ 🐚 😊
G'day Sherrie 👋🏻🏖️ I'm so glad that you like the big beach adventures, even if they make you a bit jealous 😂! Huh, I should compare more side by side like them...when I remember 🥲. Which shells would you liked to see compared with each other. In my eyes, I usually know the difference so I forget to compare them... Maybe conical moon snails vs Sordid moon snails 🐌 or perhaps the Nerites? The Wentletraps really helped me to see the difference between the species, so I'd like to share the experience more when I think of it, so let me know! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and for waiting so long for my reply after a long weekend away 🙏🏻
G'day Green Thumb Gardener 👋🏻☘️❤️ Oh wow, those Top Shells hardly ever get a mention! I'm pleased you liked them, along with the scallops as well 😁 Thank you so much for watching the big adventure today 🥰
Good morning Maddie What an amazing video. I like so many of the shells. I really enjoy all of the videos you put out. The shells are so beautiful. I can't wait to be able to travel so maybe I can go shelling somewhere. Thank you for another wonderful shelling adventure. Have a wonderful day Maddie
G'day Toni~ Wow, I'm so glad that you checked out this big mangrove episodes; there was a lot to enjoy in this one :D Scallops, nerites, land snails, wentletraps and more... it makes me want to go back again soon! I hope you can also go back to the beach soon too; any idea what kind of timeframe that will be, or is it too soon to tell? Thanks for watching, and take care of yourself
Hello Maddie, oooh the sea looked lovely.🥰 The cockle was pretty. Cute nutmeg shell.😂 can’t beat a stinky strombus! Love a carrier shell.🐚 cute small propeller shell. Oh to live in the sland and live with the snail people, love it! 😂 The thorny oyster was so perfect. Turkey wings very nice. Beautiful display ❤. Thank you Maddie. Xxxx
G'day Melissa 👋🏻💖 The Banded Snail is a cutie... this might actually be the first one of them to go into my cabinet; it's a really nice one!! Hehe, so we both liked that Thorny Oyster 🦪 it was such a sneaky one; trying to hide like that! I feel really lucky to have spotted it under the leaf litter 😂 Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Guadalupe 👋🏻💖 The Scaly Scallop was a really nice one; it had lovely textures on its reddish shell 🐚 Ohhh and the Dog Whelk gets a mention as well 🤩 Thanks for watching the big adventure 🥰
Okay Maddie you have made it impossible to choose a favorite today. Every time you pick one up i think ooooooh i like that 😂. Enjoyed the hunt very much today. Thank you for the video as always. G’day🐚☀️
G’day Mary Ann 👋🏻💖 Hehehe, it really was a day with so many shells!! I know there was a bunch that I liked as well, but I don’t think my favourites have changed much since filming them 😁 it sure was hard to pick though 😂 I’m glad that you enjoyed this super big video today; I needed something big to make up for the shorter ones lately 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
My goodness. What a great beachcomb today! How can I even start to pick a favorite??? But I do adore the small spiny oyster. Thanks again for sharing your adventures. ❤
G'day Alisha 👋🏻🐚 It was a fantastic big beachcombing adventure this time 🤩 Hehe, I don't think I could pick a single favourite either, but that small Long-spined Thorny Oyster is probably one of the tippy top picks!! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
Okay Wentletrap witch, lol Loving all the scallops and thorny oyster of course. That marsh snail is very pretty. It's so strange how many different shells you can find on different beaches. That sweet little violet nerites. I find the Hercules club very interesting and lovely. Some of those bladder moons you find are so full of colors. Those darn jingles are so big compared to Florida's jingles. Thanks again Maddie. I haven't commented for awhile. So thought I'd say hi and Thank you for sharing.
G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 Hahaha, I think this was my most numerous Wentletrap haul to date! Oh yes, the shells are really different at this beach compared to the ones closer to home; they are very different environments after all. Mud flats, mangroves, offshore reefs, kelp beds, and rocky headlands; they all have their own wildlife and shells that wash ashore! Those Violet Nerites always surprise me though; how are they so purple?? What makes them purple? I cannot think of anything in the mangroves that should turn them that colour 💜 the moon snails make a little bit more sense to me, but they're still crazy with their colours 😁 Ohhh yes, the jingles here are quite large, aren't they! I think they can get bigger still! As always Roberta, thank you so much for watching 🥰 and for saying hi~
Maddie! This was a great video!!!! ❤ I had so many favorites, the thorny oyster, that spindle, spiney murex, every single wentletrap, especially the Arabic and precious wentletrap. the freak baler, the carrier shell, the violet nerite, that stark white dog jeweled whelk. But I guess the best of the best is the thorny oyster!
G'day Lindsay 👋🏻💖 Hehe it was a big video was a lot of fun shells to find, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!! I think your called out pretty much all of the most amazing shells; the Arabic Wentletrap I think is my best one so far for a nearly intact point on it?? The Thorny Oyster was the same; this is definitely the best condition one I've ever come across 🤩 Looking back, I loved collecting all of the shells and minis from the mangroves, but that freak Baler is probably my favourite... Freak shells are so rare and unusual, so I don't know if I'll ever find another one quite like that? Super cool and unique! Ahhh you got me gushing about the shells 😅 sorry about that! Thanks for watching 🥰
Wow Maddie early today. 7 instead of 9. Love all the Wentletraps. Favorite the Long Spined Thorny Oyster. The Vitate Conch. Getting ready to sell seashells privately I cannot send you. Very large ones, etc. Also Fossils. Minerals and Crystals. A great video. Take care. Much 💘 TRUDY
G’day Trudy 👋🏻💖 Yes, I decided to try something different with the release time, though I’m not sure if it will have any kind of effect 😅 it was a spontaneous decision really, but anyway!! The shells were calling for me to share them sooner than normal 😂 That Long-Spined Thorny Oyster was really nice, and the wentletraps too!! Oh wow, and the Vitate Conch at the end is also a favourite? It was quite lovely with the yellowish colour; I think it was another one influenced by the mangroves. Already time for the sale, you’ve been moving very quickly with all of this. I thought you’d be preparing for months more! Don’t overwork yourself; your health comes first. Give Bearsy an extra few minutes of walkies for me 🐕 Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Susan 👋🏻💖 It's too bad that I don't find cone shells at Hervey Bay! Ahhh it's nice to shake things up though, that Thorny Oyster was a real little beauty 🐚 Thanks for watching 🥰
Hello Classic 👋🏻🐚 Oh wow, I'm so glad that you liked the Commercial Scallops today 😀 I'm not quite sure which one is at 12:11, but there were a lot of fantastic scallops to see this time...I was spoiled by the beach!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Leslie 👋🏻🏖️ I think you picked some beauties to mention; those Murexes are fabulous! I especially liked that dark land snail this time too; the colour was fantastic on that one! Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰
G’day Nikoleta 👋🏻💖 The beach is soooo long; just from the car park to the mangroves, then back again, is something like 4km? The whole beach is maybe more than 10km long, I think, and most of it has a few wrack lines of shells! As always, thank you so very much for watching 🥰
G'day Johann 👋🏻💖 Ohhh the Blotched Nerite is maybe from the microshelling video today? I'm not sure if the video skipped another one while you wrote your comment; it happens to be sometimes too! This one had Lined and Violet Nerites from the Hervey Bay mangroves... The Blotched Nerite that I'm thinking of is an orange and black one is the thick black swirl, like a Nightmare Before Christmas mountain 😂 I hope you know this movie; it's a bit of an old one!! Maybe I'm just making wrong guesses here, so please excuse me if I have 😅 But!!! I'm so glad that someone else liked the Blotched Nerites too; they are such an underrated shell and shell species. Did you know that there wasn't a single Nerite to see at the Yeppoon shell show, or the shell world?!! I sometimes wonder if the shelling world forgets about these awesome little shells 🐚 Once again Johann, thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures OMG that’s just exactly what happened lol , silly me . The pattern on the Bloched Nerite is super cool lol thanks for replying and letting me know I ended up in the wrong thread , keep on shelling …
@@johannaandrews I think it happens more often than anyone realizes; it's not anything you did, it's that silly RUclips video player 😉 Thanks Johanna 🐚 I'm always shelling!!
@@johannaandrews Silly me, I wrote Johann instead of Johanna! Sorry about that 😅 the RUclips handles squash together the first name and surnames without spacing (at least it does on my side of things), so I overlooked the "a" at the end of your name, and the start of your surname 😓 Thanks again, Johanna!
Carrier shells are neat-amazing critters attaching all the other shells to them. I’ve only found a few and never have they had any shells on them. I’ve seen some at shell shows covered in shells-wow! Those Short-spined Murexes are like our Cabrit Murex, (Vokesimurex cabritii) that is still on my bucket list ❤ The wentletraps I think are my favorite besides the flats…well that thorny oyster was spectacular. You just found the motherload Maddie! All fantastic finds in such a great area; I’d be out there for hours too lol!
G'day Roxann 👋🏻🏖️ I like what someone else said about Carrier Shells; they're the shellers of the snail world 🐌🤣!! They're really incredible, and wow; you've gotten some too! I hope you get one that's loaded with goodies one day! Ohh yes, the Short-spined Murexes look a lot like your Cabrit's Murexes over there 🤔 we even have another murex species that looks even more like it with the Tweed Murex (Haustellum tweedianum). I digress 😅 But yes, this beach usually has a lot to find on it; I'm still always surprised by the Wentletraps though!! Thank you so, so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures oh the Tweed Murex is kinda like (but seems a bit bigger) our Rose Murex, Vokesimurex rubidus. I really like the murexes! Yes, your show I get the most excited about each week. I really love your area and your personality/humor and dedication to share with us !
G'day Judi 👋🏻🏖️ It was a really big adventure, so I'm glad you liked it!! There was a crazy amount of shells to show this time, but yes; the Wentletrap and Thorny Oyster really stole the stage 🤩 Thanks for watching 🥰
G’day Donna 👋🏻💖 Oh my gosh, Mother Nature can be a bit freaky sometimes 😂 ahhh, sorry, I suddenly thought about those Creatures of the Deep documentaries. But yesss, love the spikes on that thorny oyster!! Thank you so much for coming along on an extra big beach adventure 🥰
G’day Kitchen Tales 👋🏻 I nearly missed you message 😉 If you have something seashell-related that you’d like to share with me, you can head over to my Facebook page: link is in the video description 🐚 Thanks for watching 🥰
Mmm. Think I would have needed to pitch a tent to pick up all the ones you deemed “not worthy” of the video! 😂 GREAT HAUL! Fantastic variety. I agree with your top favs, but I think I would have been mooning over many of your finds this episode Brava!🎉
G'day Hilary 👋🏻🏖️ Haha you probably would need to pitch a tent and stay out there for weeks to collect all of the rejects 😂 (I don't think you can legally camp on this beach) but yes, there is so many unworthy ones hahahaa!!!! And so many worthy ones too; it was a really amazing haul from the mangroves! Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰
Hi Maddie! 👋🏼 the shells are so clean at Hervey Bay today, and the curved commercial scallops are just beautiful the Wentle traps are one of my favorites today! The Violet Nerites are adorable, and my favorite color!! 😂 The tannish Short Spined Murex is another pick of this hunt.. Very nice 😊 The Swollen Wide-Mouthed Top Shell (aka elf hat 🤭) is another fave that caught my eye… The Thorny Oyster 🦪 is my last pick of the day!! So so many great finds!! Shoutout to all of the mangrove Welks today. Those swirly guys are always so nice looking!! Thanks for taking us along!! Take Care! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤
G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 The shells are never too dirty here...or maybe I only want to collect the nicest ones 😂 Those wentletraps are really nice, but gosh, I still love those Violet Nerites...I don't know why they're purple?? I mean, nothing they eat should make them purple! 💜 Oh the tan coloured murex was a nice one, but if course, the Thorny Oyster is hand down the best shell of the day!! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you again 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
G'day Selena 👋🏻🏖️ Ohh yes! I misspoke that time, is a Spotted Strawberry Top Shell 😁 I forgot the Spotted part! Aww, you are always good with words 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Lee would have to drag me off that beach with so many beautiful and interesting shells! 🐚🐚🐚 You had a great day finding wentletraps and murexes. I love all the land snails 🐌🐌🐌 and mangrove snails. Love the violet nerites. 💜💜💜 You know many of my favorites, turkey wings, flats and Venus shells. My favorite today was the thorny oyster. 🦪🦪🦪 The freak baler was really cool too! That was a wow video Maddie! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Haha, probably! I need to spend about 6 hours here for a video (or two) but I only explore half of the entire beach if I'm lucky! Not to mention the other beaches within a 10 minute drive that I just don't have time to visit as well! I would need to spend half a week in Hervey Bay to feel like I've searched through all of the accessible places 😂 Ahhh the mangrove section really is the most bountiful section; I LOVE those Violet Nerites...I have no idea what makes them that colour though, it's really crazy to me 😲! I'm glad I got some nice Turkey Wings at the end, and a really pretty Flat as well 🤩 but yesss that Thorny Oyster and handful of Wentletraps were amazing as well. Looking back, I think that freak Baler was the most exciting and unique; I might never find another shell like that due to the rarity of these occurrences! Ahh anyway! I'm glad I can bring these adventures to you, and that you don't need to upset Lee by not leaving the beach before nightfall 🤣 Thank you so much for joining me on these big beachcombing trips 🥰
G’day Hurriyet 👋🏻🏖️❤️ Hehe, the four different species of wentletraps were nice, weren’t they!! I was really spoiled by the beach 🏝️ Thank you so much for coming along on such a big adventure 🥰
Hey Danielle 👋🏻🐚 Oh yes, there is plenty to find up there, though some days are definitely better than others! I put the beach location into each video so it’s no secret, but this one is Dundowran specifically. The other neighbouring beaches have shells sometimes too, but I like this one because I know where all the toilets are 😂 It’s a really big day so prepare yourself… this 30 minutes video of shell finds is in reality at least 5-6 hours of seeking and collecting 😲! Thank you so much for watching the big adventure!
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻🏖️ There was a lot of fun shell finds this time 🤩 I loved arranging them all at the end; I kind of forget which ones I'd collected earlier in the day 😂 so it was like I rediscovered them! Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰
G’day Sheila 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness, you were able to narrow down the favourites from a huuuuge selection, well done!! Hehe, I agree with that Banded Land Snail, but wow; the naked Carrier Shell caught your eye too?! Ohh the scallops were lovely today as well. Thank you so much for watching 🥰

I can’t believe the bounty of gorgeous shells you found in that trip. SUCH a variety. What a day! Alllllll the wentletraps, OMG❣️
G’day friend 👋🏻🐚 Hehehe, I gathered up a bunch this time! Don’t get me wrong, it was almost a whole half a day of searching, but it sure turned up a lot of lovely shells 🤩 allll the wentletraps! Thank you so much for joining me on such a big adventure 🥰
Hey Maddie, so many shells today! I'm getting jealous over here, particularly with the amount of scallop shells this episode. (PS: I messaged you about those)... I'm going to have to get back up to HB asap before it gets freezing cold!
G'day Lauren 👋🏻🏖️ There was a tonne of shells, I think they really love to group up behind the mangroves like that!! I finally found your message and sent one back, I'm sorry about the wait on that 😅 it was hiding from me! Yessss get back up to Hervey Bay...but I don't think it will ever be freezing cold there; that beach always feels much warmer than it should! And gosh, summer is intense; I went on a 34 degree day and I nearly melted (but it was worth it) winter is the better time to go to Hervey Bay for shelling!! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures I am sea shell collector from Tamilnadu, India. I like your cowris collections. I am expected your giveaway video soon maddie sea shell friend.
Oh wow, hello to you in India! Do you find a lot of shells and cowries on your beaches over there? Ahhh, I didn't have any plans for a giveaway this year...I gave away a lot of my extra shells to finds over the last year, so I don't have many extras right now 😅 maybe in 2025.
Very impressed that you give the scientific names along with your common names, because as you know, common names change from one County to another, much less one country to another! The only way for someone in the United States to be able to look up and research a shell that they are not familiar with is if you give the scientific name when you find it, so thanks for that!
G'day Deborah 👋🏻🐚 Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the kind words 🙏🏻 It certainly takes extra effort to find the names, and then set the time for them to appear/disappear in the video, so it's always gratifying to know it's appreciated 🤩 Oh, it's not just the United States, these scientific names are used globally, so they are naturally more useful than the common English names 😲 However, I do try to use the common English names...those scientific Latin ones are real tongue twisters; they're far less approachable for anyone who just likes shelling as a hobby! The hardcore collectors though, oh boy, be prepared to say some Latin words! I digress 😅 but I'm very glad that I could help with research!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Nati 👋🏻🏖️ Oh trust me, Australian land snails can still get a little bigger than these medium sized ones!! Ahhh alas no; I don't sell any shells for various reasons 😅 I'll let everyone know if that ever changes, as a few people have expressed interest. If you'd like, I can recommend some Australian shell sellers (they ship internationally) that you might like to try?
@@ShellingAdventures Hi Maddy.... still bigger than that.? 🥰wow! That's amazing! I 'd really love to have some of these 😋 ours here are lovely and very special, too but way smaller unfortunately. Yeah, would be great if you could give me some adresses, thank you very much! Have a lovely evening. 🥂
@@nati5064 Sure thing! Here we go: I would like to mention two sellers that I generally think of as cheap and/or good value (I usually recommend these two for their ability to ship internationally, too), but also remember that you can sometimes find people selling shells on Facebook Marketplace too, but that's going to be cash and door to door pick up only. First is Naturally Wild: natwild.com.au/collections/seashells-natural I have been meaning to do a buy and rate video for this store... I don't actually know the quality of the shells, but I've only heard good things so far. Plus, I met the owner at the Brisbane Shell Show (he had a store there) and the shells looked good - he is also the biggest supplier of goods to museum gifts stores within Australia. The prices are very cheap; I believe he buys them wholesale from outside of Australia in those countries that eat the snails and discard the shells. Someone must have a deal to vendor the shells to people like Naturally Wild. Also, the owner at the shell show said that you can message them and ask for a specific shell if you don't see it, but remember that some species can become very expensive very quickly. Second (and last) is She Sells Shells: www.she-sells-shells.com.au/ She also has an eBay store that you can look for, but prices on her website are a little better, but I think the stock is sometimes a little different between the website and the eBay, so I will link both: www.ebay.com.au/str/shesellsshellscaloundra The prices are more in line with what I typically think they should be while still being affordable for what they are, and the best part about this store is that you're getting the EXACT shell pictured in the photo, not just a generic shop photo like on Naturally Wild. Less guesswork, but you pay a little more for it. Also, the store restocks quite slowly because of the time needed to photograph the shells (the owner mentioned this recently on her Instagram). I will also mention that you can buy many shells from eBay too, though the postage can become quite large, especially if you buy from overseas. Hopefully this will give you something to look at! Also, if there are any souvenir stores around you, then you might be surprised that some could stock shells! Anyhoo, good luck!!

Sorry about that 😅 the RUclips handles squash together the first name and surnames without spacing (at least it does on my side of things), so I overlooked the "a" at the end of your name, and the start of your surname 😓 Thanks again, Johanna!
and oh my gosh;;;that thorny oyster is amazing
Hehehe, It really was a lucky shell find! I can't believe I found one in such nice condition!! Thanks again for watching 🥰
I really enjoyed today's video ,all the shells were amazing!!:the thorny oyster was gorgeous and all the wentle traps were amazing
G'day Judi 👋🏻🏖️ It was a really big adventure, so I'm glad you liked it!! There was a crazy amount of shells to show this time, but yes; the Wentletrap and Thorny Oyster really stole the stage 🤩 Thanks for watching 🥰
The thorny oyster was exquisite! Mother Nature is mad scientist!
Love the beach walks
Thank you
G’day Donna 👋🏻💖 Oh my gosh, Mother Nature can be a bit freaky sometimes 😂 ahhh, sorry, I suddenly thought about those Creatures of the Deep documentaries. But yesss, love the spikes on that thorny oyster!! Thank you so much for coming along on an extra big beach adventure 🥰
Can i send you a photo
G’day Kitchen Tales 👋🏻 I nearly missed you message 😉 If you have something seashell-related that you’d like to share with me, you can head over to my Facebook page: link is in the video description 🐚 Thanks for watching 🥰
Mmm. Think I would have needed to pitch a tent to pick up all the ones you deemed “not worthy” of the video! 😂
GREAT HAUL!
Hii Maddie, I love the strawberry top shell it’s very unique🥰🩷wish I was better with words!!Have a lovely day :>🌺🌺
G'day Selena 👋🏻🏖️ Ohh yes!
Hi maddie❤my favorites are wentletraps and thorny oyster.l love your shelling videos.byeeee❤❤❤
G’day Hurriyet 👋🏻🏖️❤️ Hehe, the four different species of wentletraps were nice, weren’t they!! I was really spoiled by the beach 🏝️ Thank you so much for coming along on such a big adventure 🥰
I see what you mean about shelling a bit further north! Beautiful shell finds. I’ll have to go up there in the near future
Beautiful shells today they made an awesome arrangement ❤
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻🏖️ There was a lot of fun shell finds this time 🤩 I loved arranging them all at the end; I kind of forget which ones I'd collected earlier in the day 😂 so it was like I rediscovered them! Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰
Morning Maddie,I three favorites today and they are #1 is the banned snail, 2 is the carrier shell and #3 are all the scallops
Fabulous Maddie 🎉🎉🎉
G'day Judi 👋🏻🏖️ It was a big day with a lot to find 🤩 Thanks for letting me take your along for the ride 🥰
Hi Maddie, Today shelling video my favorite is commercial scallope and murex collection.
G'day Gomathi 👋🏻🏖️ Oh wow, so the scallops and Murexes stood out to you 🤩 they certainly had wonderful colours and textures!
@@ShellingAdventures Ok maddie. Here snake head cowrie is lot. Waiting for your next sea shell video.
I really loved the huge landsnails you found! They are stunning 🥰 do you sell some of your shells btw? 😉
Here we go:
I would like to mention two sellers that I generally think of as cheap and/or good value (I usually recommend these two for their ability to ship internationally, too), but also remember that you can sometimes find people selling shells on Facebook Marketplace too, but that's going to be cash and door to door pick up only.
@@ShellingAdventures good evening, Maddie. Thank you so much!👌🌸🙂 I'm sure, I'm gonna find something there.
Best wishes❤️
Natalja
Had to look for your video today, for some reason I was unsubscribed. Check your subscriptions everyone!?! Great video Maddie, as usual.
G'day Jeff 👋🏻🏖️ Oh nooo, it was a sneaky unsub!!! Well, thank you for finding me again 🎉 I appreciate it quite a lot ❤️ Thanks for watching the big adventure today 🥰
Hello Maddie, oooh the sea looked lovely.🥰
The cockle was pretty. Cute nutmeg shell.😂 can’t beat a stinky strombus!
Love a carrier shell.🐚 cute small propeller shell.
Oh to live in the sland and live with the snail people, love it! 😂
The thorny oyster was so perfect.
Turkey wings very nice.
Beautiful display ❤. Thank you Maddie. Xxxx
G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 The water was lovely and calm on this trip, it almost looked like glass at one point 😲 Haha, I wish I found a stinky strombus 🤣 I can't wait until they're mine again 😂!! Still, there was a lot to enjoy on this trip; I can't believe I got a cute little Carrier Shell, Thorny Oyster, Wentletraps, and slandy shoes!! Haha!! Thank you so, so much for watching this big adventure 🥰
