I fixed mine!!!! It was the battery connections to the board. I had to bend the connections to a good position so they stay touching especially since the negative side connection pads are slightly slanted. Took a few tries but it’s working!!
My remote can only turn the TV on and off, Mute and Volume Up and Down. Making the remote COMPLETELY useless. Could leaking battery acid cause the lower portion of the remote to become useless? And, mind you, I've had my PS5 since March of 2021 and I haven't used it as much as I used my PS1-4.
@@smilingdude8801I had the same issue. I deleted the media remote from my accessories in ps5 settings. Put the remote in pairing mode, clicked set up media remote and the ps functions started working again
The issue only happens when ps5 is on standby mode. When shut down media controller works fine. Still sucks it's bugged when on standby hope Sony updates a fix.
When I heard the cameraman laugh, I knew you were up to no good 😂. I had this problem just now and the answer was simple, the batteries are dead and you just need new batteries. It took me a long time to realize that and I was getting pissed because it wouldn’t work and this made me laugh uncontrollably 😂😂.
i actually deleted it from my console and paired it again and it worked like you said then i watched the rest of the video 💀 glad i didn’t have to do the last part
So when I did it, I switched the batteries and it didn’t work but after I deleted the remote with the new batteries in and paired it again it started working, hope this helps
I was watching this and the whole time expected the solution to be destruction b/c that's how I felt. I tried hitting the remote on my palm a few hard times, same result. I then replaced both batteries with new ones, and it re-paired immediately. I used eneloop rechargeables. Maybe takes higher voltage for the initial pair? With the original batteries pressing the PSP + Options on the remote had a white light flash once and stop. With the new batteries, white light stayed on & paired. Good luck out there. Also agree with all the comments about how difficult it is to use in the dark with all those flat buttons!
you had me going lol. if you have new batteries, just disconnect and reconnect it again, and if you have a new tv and it's a different brand, be sure to change it over to the current brand you have
@@WeelzofSteel well i mean it is really nice! But i just got it to work by deleting it re-registered it and its working fine but it said that there was an error when i connected it and so i was like lets see how long it lasts😂😂 so far about 5 minutes 😂
Mine went bad by day 3. It would work like 50% of the time. When I went to re pair it wouldn’t work. When I ordered it they sent me 4 remotes so apparently they knew I’d have issues. Just paired remote #2 and it’s already not working!!! Haha Complete trash.
Hey there! Answers not on youtube, I looked it up on google and what fixed mine was going into settings/general/bluetooth and deleting the media remote from bluetooth memmory enter pairing mode from the bluetooth screen by pressing ps and options/3 lined button and it shows up in bluetooths available devices find it select it and voila. When its not working going to the media set up says something about the bluetooth devices password being wrong so dont go there the bluetooth settings are what u need to do even if you have to do it every so often it does work. DO NOT RAGE SMASH YOUR THINGS PERIOD.
If you tried it exactly like that it'd be working right now not in the trash can. It also functions like a dualshock/sense controller and you have to turn it off when ur done actively doing stuff or the battery drains, its a user error for sure. It should have been built with a type c charging port and triangle square circle X buttons but as long as you got some rechargeable batteries and do the bluetooth step I mentioned it works. Period. Unless you drop or smash it have kids or pets or more than one PS5 or bought second hand that is. My factory Sony batteries died over christmas time when relatives were putting shows on with it and I've been having issues over the last 2 weeks till today. Hope someone reads this and gets their remote going again, :) I thought mine was broken for sure.

So You fixed the issue haha just disconnect it from your Bluetooth accessories and repair it. I just did it as soon as you said “unpair it and repair it.” Boom it worked so you did help lol
Okay guys, SAME situation happened to me. Our PS5 and it's TV remote control was only ONE month old. I put new batteries in. Nothing. I was livid! You know what I EVENTUALLY figured out????One battery was upside down and not properly popped in to place on it's matching "positive" side 🤦♀️😫🥸😂 SO.... with that said........ Please, just DOUBLE CHECK that minor detail. Lol. Much love guys....❤
Shorty 😭😭😭 I really had my hopes up
Lucky you
@@robeyo9996deleting didn’t work ?
Mine lost PlayStation functions, but maintains the ability of volume and power. Guess I can listen to PlayStations 33 second menu audio on repeat.

It works and then it doesn't. It's connected but then it's not. Immediately after saying it's connected it disconnects.
