I'm not sure how you missed all the interviews with Draisaitl leading up to games 6 and 7 where Draisaitl said he was disappointed with his play and that he had more to give and would step up. Turns out he had been playing with a broken finger and broken rib since round 2 in Vancouver which explains his poor shooting and faceoffs.
Edmonton found out just how hard it is to win four in a row as Florida did. No shame. They had enough chances to at least tie the game if not win it. Florida's defensive play and Bob had their horseshoes firmly where they needed to be. Their skill and tenacity created their luck. A great win.
"Did The Edmonton Oilers Choke Away The Stanley Cup?" - No way. I'm not even an Oilers fan and I have to say that it was a miracle that they beat this Florida team 3 games straight. When Edmonton was down 3-0, I said that it would be impossible for them to win 4 games straight.
The reason the series went 7 was because Florida let Edmonton dictate the pace of the game in games 4-6. When Florida controlled how the game wound up getting played, they controlled the vast majority of the 60 minutes. All the credit in the world to the Oilers for at least making it a series. Not every team can keep their heads in the game after being pretty thoroughly outplayed the first three games. I'm interested in seeing what management does to rework the team a bit. I'd say it is fairly obvious that the biggest team need is to retool the defense, and I have been saying this since they got swept by the Avs in the 2022 WCF. Their D is definitely better in the O-Zone and neutral zone than in their own zone, where they are pretty hard to watch at times. I still don't know how in two years, the only substantial addition to their D has been Ekholm, and I'm not considering Bouchard (who isn't the best defensively, especially in the D-Zone) nor Broberg (still new enough that you aren't really sure how good he will be) in this. I'm not saying that Bouchard and Broberg are bad players, just that they aren't known for being the strongest defensively. As a non-supporter of the Oilers, I can not and will not pick them as a cup favorite until they have aspects of their defense that make you say, "Yeah, that D can shut down x, y, or z when we really need it." Here's looking forward to the 2024-2025 season, for franchises and hockey fans alike.
Oilers should have won the first game, Bob stole it. Then they had to chase a 3-0 deficit in what could've been just a 2-1 deficit if game 1 went their way which is really exhausting.
Mitch Marner in 2023 was a ghost from game 4 against TAMPA. It wasn’t just the second round. He made his points in blowouts. Comparing Marners playoff resume to Draisaitl is an insult to hockey punditry. I like the pod but defend your take to keep Marner with some sense of reason.
We did not say Marner has a better playoff resume than Draisaitl. We made the point that sometimes star players have bad playoff series, like what happened to Draisaitl and Tkachuk in the Cup Final. Same thing happened to Roope Hintz this year.
If drasital wasn't seriously hurt it would of been a different final. The only game Florida was obviously better was game 2. Most of the other games oilers were better for most part
It seemed like an Oiler destiny to win, but at least they made it entertaining. Disappointing not to have the cup in Canada, but I’m glad Edmonton don’t get to brag about another one. I was sick of the Islanders and Oilers dynasties in the 80s. Congrat$ on Bruno’$ winning$.
The game winning goal is more on Kulac then skinner. Congrats on your winning some money, I think you should drop all that money on the leaf’s winning the cup next year! 😂
Oilers had Draisaitl under valued by $4m. Hyman way outplayed his contract. Offsets the Campbell and Nurse overpays. Leafs have nobody on a bargain deal like that. Everybody is expected to take a bargain deal except the core 4 who swallow up so much cap space and limit management ability to put together a balanced team
Love your show and channel guys! Appreciate it. Is it 3rd or bust? Or Stanley cup finals or bust this coming season? Honestly guys, Auston Mathhews is here to make money and I don’t think he is here to win a cup. He’s a great player and franchise player don’t get me wrong. He’s a fraud and he’s a regular season player only and doesn’t do anything in the playoffs. What are your thoughts and opinion on what I just said? And yes I am a leafs fan
In defense of Tkachuk, he did have one of the defensive highlights of the series in Game One going between McDavid's legs from behind to tie up his stick and prevent a scoring opportunity. If his presence was felt, it was in plays like that. I didn't ever here Paul Maurice complaining.

1 SNIFF never another 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Has the toeruntoe make believe ever made it past the second round?
Like your take keep up the good work
After watching the Panthers vs Oilers series, how far off do you think the Leafs are from becoming a legit Stanley Cup contender? 🏆
Theyre right there!!
Not even close! The core 4 will be gone before we have playoff success again
@@matthewgriffith2465😂😂
Don’t the Leafs have to make it past the 1st Round?

Oilers went further then any leaf try since 67

Leafs fans aren't allowed to say shit. Talking about choking in the playoffs.

Choke away? They got an 0-3 series to game 7 and lost by a single goal.

i agree.
Both teams looked slow and tired in Game 7, which favored Florida's game (as was pointed out). Season is WAY too long.

Sergei Berezin RIP

LOL @ leads fans talking about a team in game 7 of the SCF choking. Your team can't win a game past round 1 🥲
