Heres the thing I love the most. The Giants and Schoen are very closed mouth about what they are doing. Yet apparently they are always leaking more than a submarine with a screen door. My conclusion is 98% of these stories are made up to generate attention. If they had interest in Penix, wouldn't they trade down and pick him later?

It doesn't matter how many years of no injury that penix would have, ACL injuries are impactful for the whole career of the player, he is at a much higher risk of tearing that ACL again regardless of how many years he has

I personally believe that Michael Penix Junior is an awful fit for the Giants, not because of scheme, but rather because of the football field with his past injury history, it’s not a great decision.

When are the Giants going to fix the field? This crazy because this has been a problem for years. You pay these players a lot of money and then risk their health on a subpar turf/field.

Remember this guys. Several teams passed on Mahomes too. Not comparing to Mahomes, but many ppl say that Penix has the best arm bar none.
I wouldn’t take penix at 6 tho I would take that receiver n then trade back up n get penix
My crazy draft prediction no one else has offered:
1.The Giants get lucky and a worthy QB (Penix!/JJ/Maye) falls to us at #6 and we draft him. Odunze or Nabers is still available at #7 after we take said QB at #6.
2. The Giants trade the house (just as we would have if we drafted up for a QB who has now fallen to us) with The Titans at #7 and grab Nabers or Odunze...
So: The Giants grab the QB AND an Level 1 WR for the price of what we might have spent on just trading up for a QB. Kind of twisted but if someone said at the end of round 1 we would have a QB and an A List WR, everyone would be happy.
Can we take a WR1 and if we like Penix trade our first from 2025 to get him? If that draft class is worse, let’s use that one in a package to move up to mid 1st and get him? But i’m not a GM lol
Alex... Penix wouldn't be a bad pick....his injuries àre in the past..but past 2 years he hasn't missed a game....
This is not gentleman. I have to trust Schoen and Daboll to have done their homework. Whoever they draft, or don't, I'll trust the process.

Penix at 6 feels like a significant reach, but I'm also equally less enthusiastic about trading up for Drake Maye, particularly if you're talking about a future 1st round pick to do it.
Agree with Anthony's take on JJ. I honestly like him more than Maye, but don't like trading up for any of the QBs. If we net a future first round pick to trade down, I really like that, but hard to pass up on 6 with one of the top 3 WRs there.
Michael Penix is the best QB in this class...
Nobody who breaks down film actually thinks that. Plus he's 24 and has had 4 season ending injuries.

@@henrysantiago5997 Not true. Andy Reid knew. Mahomes was a much better prospect. Plus he did not have the same injury history. He also has a stronger arm, better arm talent is a much better runner and was 12 pounds bigger coming out of college.

anthony The stats you bring up about day one receivers versus day two and three receivers is very flawed because it's comparing one round vs 6 rounds of picks
Injury history, older age especially since he will sit another year, AND right now we don't have a RT to protect his lefty blind side.
However, watching Odunze's film, Penix seems really good.

I don’t see Mahomes running much. And Penix is awesome pocket presence unlike the Qb’s we have now. Plus his arm and accuracy. Just let the draft happen already.

PENIX at 6???? Thats insane dude... as Ive said 100 times about drafting him at 47... let alone 6. I have a very hard time believing theres any truth to that rumor at all. That would be a "desperate for a QB move." People dont want Maye, people dont want McCarthy, but Penix at 6 seems to be such a joy for alot of people commenting here.... suspicious.
Actually, Anthony wouldn't be trading down given his Big Board. If both MHJ and Malik Nabers are gone by six, that means at least one of the top four QBs (probably Maye or McCarthy) will still be available and he would take them. Personally, I'd be happy to take Odunze at six, there are plenty of analysts who prefer him to Nabers.

Take WR at pick 6, Nabers or Odubze and the trade up for Penix.

I really hope the Giants do not select a quarterback, we are not ready for one at all. I would be fine if maybe one slid and we trade up back in to the first round we need an explosive playmaker and a quarterback we just bring nothing but a circus all year. If they draft a quarterback and have another crap season we are just signing up for another Daniel Jones cycle of head codes, offensive coordinator combinations.

Every time the giants get an offensive weapon that’s a true threat they end up being injury prone. I don’t think he would want to work with yet another injury prone QB. Therefore I don’t see us going in with penix (at least not with the 6th overall pick)

Penix is the ABSOLUTELY worst Qb for the Giants and should be COMPLETELY off our board. Penix is more injury prone than DJ, and to make matters worse, Penix is the WORST under pressure out of the top QB's. Penix can maybe be a good Qb for a team with a Great Oline because he definitely can throw the rock.

They all are. That's why Penix was rated a late 1st early 2nd along with Daniels, McCarthy, and Nix for most of the season until the draft season hype train left the station.
Scouts had their eyes on Maye for a long time, and he's still a top 5 pick on everyone's board who does this for a living.
If Penix didn't have a list of red flags, nobody's talking about McCarthy going top 10 and that's the cold, hard truth.
Maye and JJ don’t belong. The other 4 balled out 30 plus Tds. Maye is mids at best and he’ll be the next M. Tribusky. JJ is Zack Wilson with not as good stats.
