Hmm I get your point but it definitely is a different degree of bootleg. The Mechanicore kits are almost entirely designed new by them. DM kits are partially redesigned from bandai kits and resin kits.
Glad to see you opening up to 3rd party/bootleg kits. Dragon momoko kits are doing quite well recently but there are still the usual flaws like weak joints and lesser plastic quality (not much). Goodluck on the build. Hope to see the review soon
Sooooo excited how the kit will turn out. As previous stated, I like their (re-?)designs al lot, but that doesn't say anything about the quality. Not starting great with the black runners.... It was really evident n B3, the shoulder parts. These need some Mr Surfacer 500. But with Bandai kits this is also (for me at least) required to do some "body work" on some pieces due to sink marks, so...... It might be a different story with the rectangular detail, like around the camera in the back of the head. Maybe some chiseling and some filing.... To me the individual articulated fingers are so much better compaired to the GAT-X frame designs from Bandai. Is it in any way you could see if the ball joint will fit in other kits. Like the Freedom 2.0.A lot of frame parts looked strangely very similar to the MG Strike R.M..... LOL I sort of can live with that, it's the slightly changed design that strikes (pun sort off intended) me. I like the design of the suit regardless. As with the MG Freedom 1.0 I was always holding off with them as I was hoping for a 2.0 version (for their "out-dated" inner frames), same with the Unicorn (a down scaled PG knee and elbow frame design). Due to many different reasons (one being the Japanese economy) the MG department at Bandai is dispatched to help in the IBO 1/100 and RG department due to vacancies that can't be filled due to budget (just typing what I'm thinking...), hence 3 to 4 MG's a year. Which in turn leaves a lot of "easy" redesigns for kits on the drawing board. Leaving a gap Dragon Momoko is sort of filling op. I too have some mixed feelings about them bluntly copying the frame design and probably some resin kit.... Again, we have DM copies of some (most...? no idea) of Bandai's kits to one extent or another and I would like to build those too and I want for Bandai to make more profit IF (a really big "if") the money was used for making more profit (more kits :-P) but I highly doubt it....., not condoning buying "3rd party-ish kits! There are however DM kits that don't have a Bandai (MG only.....? don't know their entire product range) counterpart. In such case it's "Gefundenest fressen" (German), if Bandai doesn't want or can't make them and I want them I'm buying them! Maybe a rather odd question, but when speaking of quality, does Dragon Momoko have a "parts department" or is the order form written in Chinese (...?) and the only English bit of text on there is "For use in China (Again, ...? Did I do my research or what, LOL) only". Could you ,in an update or so (as the kit already has been snap-fit before uploading this vid I presume) tell us something about the quality of the water slides.....? The packaging of the kit is great! Adds a bit to the weight, but can take a punch. That's maybe another reason the package arrived in such a good state, the box isn't easily dented. Like that for logistical reasons ;-) Anyways, looking forward in seeing your review of the kit, wondering how the quality holds up!
I also don't support third party kits but it's interesting to see that DM are releasing kits based on resin kit molds and metal build molds. Would be hard to pass up if they decide to do the Red Frame w/ Flight Pack from the Metal Build line. Still sucks that Bandai doesn't have the Astray Flight Pack in MG.
+ZakuAurelius Yup, still hoping for that release. Another thing that sucks is that the regular Astray Red Frame is released as pbandai. One question Zach, can I equip the backpack of the NG 1/100 Red Frame to the MG Red Frame Kai? The pbandai Red Frame really have jacked up prices and its kinda hard to come by too.
in your opinion, should i buy the dragon momoko tallgease trio since they're coming out as P-exclusives? how good are dragon momoko, also there's a daban PG 1/60 rn-03 phenex gundam from unicorn, should i get that?
The Dragon Momoko Tallgeese is pretty meh IMO, it's impossible to make it stand for some reason. But for a fraction of the P-Bandai the price, it's alright I guess. Just stick it on a action base and call it a day. Daban Phenex is awesome. Just built one yesterday. The only problem is most of the parts are very tight. Not too tight, but very tight. If you don't trim the pegs, then you'll have problems when trying to paint it. The LED unit is also okay, you can connect it to USB power source, you it doesn't need battery. Unlike regular PG Unicorn, most of the parts are also undergated (Except small parts like V-fin, or beam sabers), so it won't leave marks on the gold finish. The quality is surprisingly great for a bootleg brand.
ok thanks guys for the info and advice, as far as supporting bandai, i will always support them, i just recently bought a bulk of 5 ibo kits from HLJ and pre ordered 7 kits from them now, yes i want the kits from P bandai but i cant buy an MG for almost $100 dollars when its worth close to half that, I have only bought one daban kit, as far as looking for P-ex, on ebay they always seem to be the same price or always over $100, i either look somewhere else or just dont buy them at all
+Nino Ruiz I would not recommend the DM Tallgeese kits, plastic quality is not very good and bad fitting in some places. Just go for the Bandai kits or pass entirely. Plenty of other awesome kits out there.
I have built the sword strike and launcher strike dragon momoko. The decals were awesome, the building process is a lot better than other bootleg gundam models, but the articulated hands were hard to use. the overall look is great but as for playability it is very frustrating some of the time specially the hand part. applying heat to parts difficult to snap, screws for other holes needs to be widen up. Build with patience to the kit look better. You'll need a lot of patience.
I like this design. I feel that DM is definitely improving considering some reviews of their recent kits have positive results. I bought some BLs and 3rd party kits too in the past. I only convinced myself to buy more Bandai kits and less 3rd party kits due to the judgmental, disrespectful assholes and elitists in this community. Thank goodness, you're not one of those people. Don't get me wrong, Bandai has the best quality, of course. But I like to open myself more to other companies that may offer something good just like this one. Can't wait to see the review and more.
Bandai needs to license out 3rd party parts and kits. It's kind of tiring waiting on Bandai to do everything. If they don't adapt someone's going to come by and sweep out their market. Not Gundam but something similar.
+Ghost L 100% correct dude. Hell I live in Virginia USA and theirs one shop within 300 miles where I can get bandi kits. Then I have to pay mark up. Thank god for the internet.
From what I experienced from the akatsuki, the movable fingers breaks Easily ,I don't know if they did update it on this kit or not tho,so I think u Need to watch out for that
this kit definitely looks like a jumbled mess of stuff from various different kits. and if you want a seated pilot figure the official Bandai Aile Strike RM kit includes two sets of pilot figures. it would be cool to compare that kit with this one.
personally I don't see DM as bootleg anymore, they're more like a third-party. Bootleg is something like Daban where they copied Bandai's kits completely and just a different naming scheme and logo. DM is always releasing kits that are not available in the market meaning that their kits are mostly "original" and not 100% fully based on a specific kits. Also, DM will be releasing their first PG's kit that is PG Unicorn but unlike the original Bandai, they actually improve the look of the kit. You can see the comparison online and holy molly, DM version seems miles better.
All DM kits are stolen ideas from multiple sources. The core of the kits are all 100% stolen Bandai inner frame and polycap design, while the armor parts are stolen resin group models.
One advice for you zach for building this. You need to modify the trigger hands so the handguns can fit in it.
Thanks for the tip!
In case you don't know, MC is now part of the DM. They mentioned that in their official weibo page.
Ah, so that makes sense! Funny I was able to deduce that based on the packaging! Haha
It's actually pretty nice looking for a bootleg.
lol they're bootlegs that are actually better than the original
i feel like they're more like 3rd party kits with some armor redesigns and parts change
but they're usually better than the original kit
To be honest, if you don't have issues with Mechanicore kits, these newer Momoko kits shouldn't pose any problems for you in terms of quality.
Hmm I get your point but it definitely is a different degree of bootleg. The Mechanicore kits are almost entirely designed new by them. DM kits are partially redesigned from bandai kits and resin kits.
Actually I was referring to the plastic quality in general and how the parts all fit together as a kit.
Good video
i hope wuji gets a hold of the molds and to reprint this like they did with the akatsuki
Glad to see you opening up to 3rd party/bootleg kits. Dragon momoko kits are doing quite well recently but there are still the usual flaws like weak joints and lesser plastic quality (not much).

If bandai doesnt make something im willing to try options too
i like this kit and will get it some day.
dose the bandi strike noir come with the wire blades?
Its funny to see how bootlegs are slowly becoming their own brand, and how much they try to differ from Bandai.
Yeah strange that hasn't come out as a p-bandai add-on or something. I'm sure it might someday

One question Zach, can I equip the backpack of the NG 1/100 Red Frame to the MG Red Frame Kai? The pbandai Red Frame really have jacked up prices and its kinda hard to come by too.
I don't entirely hate Dragon Momoko mostly because they do really cool custom and resin parts.
I recently finished my DM Destiny, I just need to add the decals.
Really like the design of that kit, especially the DM (Metal Build) re-design
how do you tighten gunpla joints? is teflon tape ok?
Glue or paint works
in your opinion, should i buy the dragon momoko tallgease trio since they're coming out as P-exclusives? how good are dragon momoko, also there's a daban PG 1/60 rn-03 phenex gundam from unicorn, should i get that?

buy it with no question.
+Nino Ruiz I would not recommend the DM Tallgeese kits, plastic quality is not very good and bad fitting in some places. Just go for the Bandai kits or pass entirely. Plenty of other awesome kits out there.
+ZakuAurelius ah thank you for answering my question and can't wait for you to build this kit
The base is selling separately (mentioned in chinese words) :)
Oh ok, thanks!
I have built the sword strike and launcher strike dragon momoko. I put gunpla in my mouth all the time, helps the paint to adhere better....
them back armor parts.. if you're not repainting him better to glue it in.
I like this design. I feel that DM is definitely improving considering some reviews of their recent kits have positive results.

+Ghost L I can agree on that. Perfect example of DM getting tired of waiting for Bandai is the MG Akatsuki.
+ZetaGundam006 Remastered just waiting on someone young who understands the global market. Why they don't want a bigger market is baffling sometimes.
+Ghost L 100% correct dude. Hell I live in Virginia USA and theirs one shop within 300 miles where I can get bandi kits. Then I have to pay mark up. Thank god for the internet.
Most definitely. Although I only order on FB pages considering that I don't have Paypal. I just pay through remittance or cash deposit in banks.
im about to put that kit in to my mouth...thank lord they told me not to.
From what I experienced from the akatsuki, the movable fingers breaks Easily ,I don't know if they did update it on this kit or not tho,so I think u Need to watch out for that
Yep already broke off one articulated finger. I'm just not gonna use them!
so..im a full bandai product builer. and has never built a dm gundam..any advice on this dm?
Where review video this kit? I cant find in your channel, just video wip for this kit?
yeah, haven't done a regular OOB Review because I'm painting it. It's almost done so you'll see a completed build video on this soon.
great, cant wait for the review!
The original resin kit was the Viscious Project resin. DM is interesting, they are stealing the resin designs without crediting the resin group.
just ask you it is worth the price and italia fitting well?
please be careful when you snap some part cause i am already build this thing and got some my part broke.....
I can tell that there is a Real Grade sentences at the manual, cause it is there at the Strike and Skygrasper manual, lol. Why Dragon Momoko why?
this kit definitely looks like a jumbled mess of stuff from various different kits. and if you want a seated pilot figure the official Bandai Aile Strike RM kit includes two sets of pilot figures. it would be cool to compare that kit with this one.
KIDS, ALWAYS SUPPORT BANDAI DO NOT ALWAYS BUY BOOTLEGS.
BOOTLEGS ARE NOT BRANDS.
Their still brand you idiot
lol nope.

nice also 1st
I gotta admit I've never liked the strikes chest
to much talk before start..so bored..
