About Me:
My name is Cody Buffinton and I am a social media travel influencer. I'm a fitness enthusiast who lives to explore beautiful places that few have been, while chasing high - action adventure and creating epic cinematic content!
My Father's side of the family came from Norway to the US in the 1800s. I love hearing about my heritage, so thanks for that too Cody!
Alot of Norwegians migrated to the U.S in the 1800's. Because of that i have some Norwegian family living in the US. Would love to visit them someday. Maybe its you? ;D
In the far distance From the lookout you can see a few houses, those houses are what is left of the village of Mostad, that is where my great grandparents immigrated from in 1883 to America. If you want to be more adventurous you can drive to the end of the road through Nordland and then hike to the village which takes about 2 hours one way. No one lives there but my cousins keep them as summer cabins.
The value of 2 kroner in 1600 related to todays market was about 15600 nok (which is approximately 1800 usd). So it was a considerable ammoumt for one eagle.
Awesome! I am loving your Norway trip! So beautiful!
Thanks Lisa!
As a norwegian u cant be more proud to watch someone like u showcaseing our beautyful country! And that you are part norwegian too - has to make the experience so much more meaninfull to u aswell right?! Do u know where your family is from in Norway?! Btw Cant wait till u get back to see the pulput rock and Lysefjorden!😉😉 xxx from a Lilyhammer chick livin in Stavanger.
You do have a beautiful country for sure. And no offense but the woman seem very beautiful as well. :-)
@@xcalibertrekker6693 We sure do😉haha Alot of ppl seem to say so... moust be true then😜

Wonderful Lofoten!
My mom (family) is origin from Norway...
Greeting from Montenegro!
Epic video👌👍loved the way u explain things and yr editing skills r awesome👏
Awesome video, Cody! I'm really loving your Norway series. Lofoten looks amazing! The scenery is beautiful, even with the fog. Too bad you guys weren't there on a Thursday - it would have been fun to see what was in that tunnel! Haha, I don't believe they caught eagles either. In addition to having incredible eyesight, I've heard eagles also have pretty good hearing, so I'd imagine it would be next to impossible to sneak up on one! It's also really cool to learn a bit more about the Norwegian language, especially how the "ø" is pronounced!
Haha I agree, Idk if there was any real eagle catching going on, and thank you
You're welcome!
Eagle catching were very real. Unfortunately there is little info in english as far as I can find. But there is a short clip from the fifties at the bottom of this page. It is in norwegian and swedish. www.nfk.no/fylkesleksikon/innhold/hendelser-og-historie/ornefangsten-pa-varoy.852697.aspx
P
Eagle catching was real, I have seen black/white films of it and heard many stories from family members youth.
That was an awesome vlog!
I wish I could come to Norway one day, thank you very much.
As always, fantastic video. And, it was great talking with those two Norwegian girls.
Your videography is absolutely stunning! All the memories your making! Thanks for sharing Cody!

Det regner i bøtter og spann 😄 by the way there is a great fortress in Halden where the girls came from.
I'll have to head there next time!
Visit Tromsø again in the winter.. you visited in the wrong time :(. I'd love to show you some crazy places.
Been watching you guys for years, would never believe you ever would visit Tromsø.
Again, visit in the winter. The northern lights light up the sky so beautifully here.
nice video. which month did you film this video in vaeroy ? thanks
Dude I'm just on the way to lofoten right now your videos are so helpful 🤙
Then you're in for quite a trip. Views like this can be seen all over Lofoten.
Way to stay in the game and get your hike on guys! Check out Josh, he's reachin' deep into his DNA to his Sherpa ancestors and handily racing Cody up the mountainside. Heh, heh. That does look rad with a very narrow lookin' path along the ridge of mountains into fog. What...you're not gonna catch even one eagle with your bare hands? Well I am disappointed. HaHaaa! So, WOW guys! That looks so crazy after Josh blows the fog out to sea, the steep, steep mountainside and remote lookin' beach are just wild man. Again, the scenery is so over the top and the drone footage beyond that. Well look what we have here...a couple of local lovelies sitting on top of fog mountain and after you just talking about maybe having time to kill...good job guys! That beach looks incredible between the very turquoise water and dramatic mountain that seems to shoot miles straight up outta the sand. Incredible stuff Cody and the info you pass on is priceless really. Whether it's purely for general knowledge or travel advice it goes well beyond what everyone else seems to offer. Good job! I really do thoroughly enjoy your work, thanks. .............................PEACE!!
Next time hike to the Village of Mostad and if the trail is dry hike to the top of the mountain, the trail will take your breath away but it is dangerous.
So cool actually that it forces you to take more time to explore and maybe really find some things you would not normally see. I have enjoyed it anyway, so Thanks!
Thank you for the video!
Thank you Laurie =)
Nice vid. Beautiful views from up there.
Cody awesome video I do like your videos my friend.... Keep up the good work!!!!! :-)

The girls were from Halden, huh? Actually grew up there, from when I was 7 to 15 or so. Beautiful city, pretty much right at the border to Sweden.
Austral I never knew it was like a border to Sweden and I've been to Swedon more then 10 times
Love the intro and the story telling ☺
Thanks Warren!

I'm from Halden. Those girls should have told you about our great fortress.
You would love to explore this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredriksten
Anyway, thanks alot for all your videos and hope to see you in Halden sometimes in the future.
Safe travels.
It looks like zombies about to come out of the tunnel...the beautiful green water at beach & peace. I think it worth visiting. Always awesome vlog 🙏❤ #exploringcrew #RougeNation #Explorers4life
Haha it does look like that, I think josh was hoping that would happen for his video
I would have no problem spending 11 hours there. :)
Nice.
Cody, when you said that the beach looked like no one has ever been there, my first thought was that you have to go there..
I live in Lofoten !
Looked like old cold war radar station probably high power since it looked like they built a power plant up there to power it. The tunnels probably had something to do with it. Just a guess.
The reason why Norwegians are so good at English is because we learn it in school from we are 6 years old
I'm curious about the tunnel, sound interesting....
Cody I just love the Norway viedo's Just make you want to chatcha plane and Goooooo. :)
Hi cody and beautiful much video loved wow 👍👍
Thank you Qaiser!
Welcome cody happy
i actually live in værøy. BTW the Æ sound is pronounced like the A in the word cat. yk Kæt
A famous comic came into a business I worked at, and the first thing he said as he stepped off the plane was "Can you guys flap some cardboard around or something? We're gonna need this fog to clear so I can go home later." As to mispronouncing things, a notable musician was in Brazil for the new year; instead of cheering "feliz ano novo" he got the "an" confused with "anus." Guess what he was wishing everyone at the festival.
some years ago ther was a chocolate factory in a small airport in værøy. my friends mom own it. but about 2 years ago it burned down :(
🍍😍
Josh is back in the US are you uploading late?
I live in Lofoten
As a Norwegian, this is really beautiful and I am happy that you like our country. But overtourism is starting to show, beacuse people visiting don't follow the "leave no trace behind" rule. And it has become a really big problem. We Norwegians love our county, and want to keep it clean! Please have in mind, that you are visiting another country, show some respect.
Its raining cats and dogs = Det regner i bøtter og spann = Det pessregner = Its piss raining
There was a part in game of thrones that they filmed in Norway
Area 52 😁
Go to Nordkapp!
Nice video, totally butchered the name of Værøy though with both the æ and the ø being pronounced wrong. ^^
"Vær" is the norwegian word for "weather" and "øy" is the norwegian word for "island" ("ø" alone is the *danish* word for island, and we spent 400 years under danish rule so a lot of places got "ø" instead of "øy" in their names).
In short "Værøy" means "weather island" and as you might have guessed that isn't a name given because of the *nice* weather. :-P
All of Scandinavia, really, watches lots of English-speaking TV and entertainment, and then there's the Internet. The main difference with actual continental Europe is that the European countries like France and Germany actually have pretty much everything dubbed to their own languages. That means their English skills tend to be crap.
Also, pretty cool to just go to a remote location in a remote country and what happens, two stunning young women just appear. I need to spend more time in Norway, clearly.
Lofoten is not an Island. Lofoten consist of hundreds of islands, and 6 communes.
I don't want to travel here. I want to live here for sure
why are uploading videos much less frequency now. josh uploaded this weeks ago it seems like. Also i love your videos.
Agreed he needs to take advantage of this great scenery and culture.
100
So when are you leaving Norway and making new videos? Can you please Move on????
I live there u filmed my house
Somewhere between 1-200th comment
That's all that matter =)
Why would someone dislike this video? Smh
Josh was jealous of the high quality content. :-) JK
Why do you tell all of the secrets.... in the details is the beauty :) ... Eleven hours, you have to get creative
Second
This was on Josh channel ages ago.....
Yeah I'm posting once per week due to the large amount of time these video have been taking me and other projects, as opposed to his 3 times a week when he posted them
Your editing is better Cody

What are they doing in the tunnel the rest of the time, mmmm?
DON
Norway have the top 5 most pretty girls in the world lol
Dang those Norwegian girls were hot I hope you guys hooked up. :-)
First
3 kroner is about 3 cent
Tjee, in my time we didn’t run around the World to get the best Instagram picture, we just stayed and enjoyed the people, culture and landscape for as long as we can. What is wrong with you’re generation???
Your generation still couldn't tell the difference between "your" and "you're", apparently.
I enjoyed it? But more seriously, I don't really have a lot of patience for old farts who start out with "Well in MY day..." and include things like "what's wrong with you?" I'd like to know what's wrong with anyone who feels the need to ask those things. People do what they want, or at least the lucky ones do. Some people actually use Instagram and RUclips as a way to make money exactly so they can live their lives the way they want to. Including spending time enjoying specific places and cultures for longer periods of time.
Brillant Video boys..love watching your travels
have you thought of changing your DJI Phantom 4 For The Magic Pro or the Mavic 2 Pro or Magic Zoom....
Thanks! I have actually thought about it, I like the Mavic 2 Pro and the size of it, the footage looks comparable to my Phantom 4 so I'll have to see
