    I'm very glad you did this video. As you mentioned in previous videos, volunteering is a fantastic way to meet and make friends in a way that gets beyond the "just small-talk" barrier. But it's also (this sounds very naive but it's my experience over decades) a powerful signal of your character that most Germans take very seriously. Outside the big cities, pretty well everyone volunteers in some way or other. Much more than speaking German well, this is the "I am here and I want you to meet me at eye-level as I'mintegrating and I don't need to have a political discussion discussion about it" approach.

    I joined the THW just this month! Looking forward to the Grundausbildung, it’s a full year where I’m at and I’m going to learn a ton of handy skills, which is a nice break from my office job. It’s also great that it’s a Bundesanstalt so when I move I can just request a transfer to the local Ortsverband

    Thank you for this informational video. I am looking for applying my german citizenship by following a 3 year rule and one of the requirements is outstanding achievement in professional work. Can you make an information video on that topic to cover those requirements/qualifying criteria?

    • @simplegermany

      There is no set process for that. It’s a soft requirement that depends on what your case worker sees as outstanding achievement.

    Hi, great channel you guys have! I wanted to know how to track volunteer time in Germany and get recognition for it. We have a community at work that regularly hosts volunteer events, and I've organized and participated in many of these activities. How can we track our volunteer hours, get recognized for our contributions, and integrate this into our community activities here in Germany?
    Thank you.

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  Месяц назад +1

      You would need to ask your employer if they issue any records. Not sure if that gets recognized by the ABH though, as it is not an official social organization.

    • @ifetayoagboola3736

      @@simplegermany appreciate your response. My follow up would be what get it recognized by the ABH, my employer has a portal for tracking volunteering events and accumulated hours. What is not clear is how to present that record to the Government agency officially and get it recognized or accounted for as volunteering in Germany.
      Thank you ☺️

    Hi! Been following your channel for quite some time. Finally have enough money saved up. So I can live in Germany under the new laws by having enough money to support myself. However to live in the Dusseldorf area I will need about 100K Euro. I am a fast learner. And I can learn German in about 6 months. If I have a 2 level. Do you think I could get a job relatively easily making 100K euro per year being a fluent speaking American as well as a two-level German please get back to me on this one and ironically I already speak Spanglish due to my extensive work in the restaurant industry and having the privilege of working with a lot of really amazing South Americans I mainly from Honduras so forgive me if my Spanglish is a little bit rough compared to other dialects but so in 6 months I could technically be trilingual English German and Spanish do you think I could earn a good living😊 I think perhaps this is the question for Jen has she is fluent in all three languages. Hola mi amigo El te amo Tim que pasa senorita Jen Europa Trib bien?

      Only 7% of employees in Germany earn more than 100K and the gastronomy industry is typically not amongst them (however it depends on what you do in gastronomy).
