@aliscode2386 I applied for a researcher position in an University. I did not apply with German language certificate simply because it was not required for the position and also because Brazil and Germany apparently have an agreement that citizens do not need to learn the language to get a work visa. I highly recommend to learn at least B1 German to live in the country, as not everyone is willing to speak English, especially in government departments depending where you live.

Jen’s degree never correlated to her role and she also never had a blue card.
Hallo! Thank you so much for your videos, they have been so endlessly helpful and engaging - you guys are the best!! I have a question that seems silly, but I've learned not to assume anything when it comes to German bureaucracy 😂. Not sure if you guys will know the answer: If you are applying as a citizen of a country for which English is the official language (the U.S., in my case), do you still need to provide a language level certificate to obtain the points for English fluency, or will that automatically be granted based on your nationality? Thank you so much for everything!!!
Thanks so much for your awesome feedback 🤩 very good question, it would make sense to waive that requirement but then again we are not the government 😅. Only your local embassy can tell you. When you find out, could you please share the info with us?! 😊
Based on my experience, if you don't have the mentioned financial means for each visa and a certificate of language proficiency (even though you can speak at the level of B2), you cannot migrate. That's why millions of people immigrate ille/ally every year, and when they reach any European countries, the government exempt them from paying for anything but you, the legal migrant, should pay thousands of Euros for every simple tasks you need to be done. For example, I don't have Euro12,000 to be deposited for this visa, and although I speak English fluently (for a country like Germany that no one will respond to you in English), I don't have Ilets or Toefel certificate, each of those certificates needs at least $250 to be paid and it takes at least three months to be completed.
Hi Simple Germany, I love your videos about Germany and visa but would love to point out one small bits. I hold a job Seeker Visa and in my visa it is mentioned that I can work for minimum 10 hours per week.
Your video is still the best I have seen on Chancenkarte. Though, still am not clear after reading all comments and videos that 1) If my uni and degree is in Anabin database, then I am fully recognised. Right? 2) If my degree or uni is not in Anabin, and I get it recognized from Zab and gets the right equivalency i.e positive report, then I am also fully recognised. Right?
We will do an extra video on the whole riddle of Anabin and recognition in the future. To answer your question briefly: 1) both your exact degree AND university need to be listed in Anabin. 2) as far as we understand yes, as along as your profession is not regulated in Germany.
@@simplegermany thank you so much for your response. Surely, appreciate your efforts. More power to you girls. I will be looking forward to your next video
Great video!! Thanks a lot for that. I have a question: what source confirmed that the part-time employment can be any job even if not in your education area? I haven't seen it clearly confirmed on the sites I read. You're actually the first source I see that explains that.
Hi Jen and Yvonne, thanks for the very informative video. Quick question, do you know if I already receive a job-seeker visa and currently already lived in Germany, am I still eligible to apply for the Chancenkarte? My job-seeking visa duration is running out and this new scheme would really be a solution. Thanks again! ❤
Is there a points deduction for age? I am an American in my mid-forties, and I often find that many countries simply want younger people in this situation. It can be frustrating as middle -aged people have lots of skills and experience to bring. Great channel and information! 👏Cheers from the U.S.!
Absolut fantastishces und Information- reich Video. Vielen Dank Jen und Yvonne. I had no idea about getting the degrees ‘recognized’, by Germany. Looks like that would be the first thing I need to get done.
Thank you for this detailed explanation, very helpful. my question is in the language eligibility, one is supposed to have prove test for german languge and english IELT test as well. or is it just one of the 2 of them. that is to say, if i have only IELT test am i eligible?
Can you elaborate on vocational training please? What qualifies for vocational training according to this route? Do you still not have a chance if you have worked in the same line of work as what your university degree was based in? Also when you say university degree you mean bachelors or masters?
Vocational training refers to an education/qualification instead of a university degree. To know whether your university degree is recognized you can watch this video: ruclips.net/video/vG-TWow4Igg/видео.html
Great video! What happens next, after you get a full time Job in Germany with this visa? Do you apply for a different visa that allows to work full time or something else? Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you for this video! 2 questions: 1- If both my university and degree are listed as recognized in the Anabin database, I don't have to go through with this recognition process that you mentioned could take months or a year, correct? 2- What qualifies as proof for the work experience? I'm technically a freelancer but have been working for the same company for almost 2 years now. Is a letter from the company I'm working for sufficient or do I need insurance papers etc which I don't have?
1. We believe so - yes! 2. Your local German mission will need to decide. But we would say a letter of recommendation stating the time span you worked etc should be accepted.
Thanks for the interesting and great information. I'm looking forward to working in finance and IT in Berlin, so any references would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thanks so much for the video! I haven't been able to find some details on the Chancenkarte so I was wondering whether you've come across it: 1. Regarding the proof of funds, would a Verpflichtungserklärung also be an option? As far as I understand, this is currently an option for the Job Seeker's visa. 2. Since you can only apply for this from June onwards, do you know if it would be possible to apply for a Job Seeker visa first and then apply/change it to a Chancenkarte? The timeline seems a bit risky and it's not clear yet how long the process might take since it's a new thing, so someone who is already in Germany for 90 days might run out of time. 3. For a bachelor's degree (in the IT field) that is showing as H+ on the Anabin database and the language is in English, the only thing needed is a screenshot of that and no other lengthy recognition process?
@@simplegermany Hi there, Great explanation. Just have one question re. the 3rd point. My degree is in a similar situation in terms of Anabin database. So the question is attaching a screenshot of it while applying for the opportunity would be enough, right? No recognition required?
Thank you for the video, so helpful! Is there info on family members? I know previous job seeker would require reunification, which mean my fam would have to wait for me until i found a job. Does chancenkarte allow me to go with them even for the job search portion? Thank you again!
All the information was clear I just need to ask you for the language requirements A1 for German or B2 for English. But for scoring they gave scores for C1 and above. Secondly, my wife is also graduated and degree fully recognized and don't have any work experience as well as Language. Can I apply with spouse.
just curious about jen’s use of her life as example for why she can’t apply! couldn’t you qualify just because you have a university degree alone? even without matching work experience? (just as long as it’s at least partially recognized in germany and if you meet age and language and financial requirements as well) i thought the vocational training is just another option for the “professional qualification” if you don’t have a university degree!
In your example it's correct. In our example we wanted to make the point in the case that Jen's degree is not recognized. Since she doesn't have work experience in the field of her degree, she wouldn't qualify.
You can wait 6 months and reapply for job search visa. I had one and found a job in Germany and now i coach people occasionally to so the same (within the same program that brought me to germany) What certificates do you posses and in what field? (University degree? Bachelor? Masters? Engineering?)
If my university and programme are in the ANABIN database do I just need to print that out and my degree is considered recognised? Seems really easy.😅 Thanks for the answer!
Thanks for an amazing video. Can I get a clarification of one thing? When I have a fully recognized university degree but the degree is not related to my work (IT), Can I go with the path 1? I was wondering since I have never seen it being specified as such.
This video is great and really helpful. Thanks for your efforts 💪 I have a question, when we got job offer, do we still need company sponsor to convert Work Visa or EU Blue card with this Visa?
Thank you for making this video! Does it mean if I got my degree in Germany I can apply for the Chancekarte directly? (Does a degree in Germany can be considered fully recognized by the German government automatically or I still need to do something with it first?)
Hi Simple Germany!! You have done an AMAZING job with this video!! Thanks for such a DETAILED explanation. I have a question! Is Tofel ITP certification accepted for the? Also, the German embassy of where I reside states that ANA-Bin recognition counts as "fully recognition" so the first way. I wan wondering if you could confirm or know how to find the answer. Thank you!!
Hey! Is follow what your local embassy says. Here you can find a step by step in how to navigate the Anabin database: ruclips.net/video/vG-TWow4Igg/видео.htmlsi=Qu0waNTKxBiDdvSi
Through Statement of Comparability at Zab, my degree in US is equivalent to German degree. Also, I can see my Uni is H+. However, based on ZAB, It is not a professional recognition and therefore does not entitle its holder - especially with regard to German recognition authorities - to receive a formal equivalency. Could you explain what does fully recognition and partial recognition mean? Every website is not showing clear explanation about this. Thank you for your video :)
Planing on doing a video on that, however the ZAB and Anabin listing should be enough. The formal equivalence is only needed for regulated professions.
From FAQ. As a foreign IT professional, you do not need to have a university degree or formal vocational training to obtain the “EU Blue Card”. Only “non-formal qualifications”, i.e. two years of professional experience (at academic level), must be proven by a certificate from the employer, for example. A fixed employment contract is required, stipulating a gross annual income of more than 40,000 euros. In the case of collective bargaining agreements, a lower income is also sufficient as proof. So you could apply
Hi Firstly great video :) My university degree is listed as H+ on the Anabin website, and my degree is equivalent to German standards. Does this mean my degree is fully recognized, or is there another way to verify this?
Thanks for the detailed info. I have 1 question though. If I am applying with my spouse , who of course qualifies for it, we have a 2 year old son, do we need to show blocked statement for him too ? or 2 blocked account are enough to support our application?
Thank you for this amazing information. Is it possible to apply for the chancenkarte while working in my current remote job in Germany until I find a German based job?
Great video, and thank you! What do you mean by "Vocational training"? Am I qualified? I have a 4-year Computer Science degree, which includes a one-year internship. Currently, I have 3 years of experience as a developer, so am I entitled to it? I don't have an A1 German exam certificate, by the way. Do I need to take a B2 English exam, even though my degree is afflicted from UK University? And also my partner is from Germany, and we will get married by the end of this year. Could my partner or my father-in-law sponsor my visa? Which would be the easiest way to get the visa, considering my partner doesn't work yet?
Indeed an excellent snapshot. please clarify, if someone doesn't have any German Language skills but has English Language skills as B2. Can he/she apply for the Opportunity card?
Hi, thank you for the information about the Chancenkarte. I'm from the Philippines, I'm just curious-if I pursue a degree in a distance learning (online) from a German university recognized by the German government, would I be eligible for the Opportunity Card automatically? Hope to hear from you. Cheers!
Tolles Video! Bitte eine Frage . Meine Uni ( Apotherker aus Indien) ist anerkannt in anabin. Kann ich Approbation bewerben? Wie ist möglich bitte machen Sie ein Video. Danke für beide .
Just follow the steps as we show in this video: ruclips.net/video/vG-TWow4Igg/видео.html. The example we give for a doctor should work exactly the same for an Apotheker 😊
Great video! but I just have one question, that means that for the case in which your degree is fully recognized you don't need to get a blocked bank account?
You do! We noticed afterwards that we didn't make that clear enough. You still need to fullfill the financial and basic language requirements. You just don't need to collect further points.
@@simplegermanyhi when you say fully recognised qualification does it mean having H+ for my university and A4 for my bachelor of engineering from India on the anabin website, would suffice? I have downloaded from the anabin for these two, is it enough or do you think zab or any other comparability or recognition process is required for me to apply further? Please clarify. Really appreciate it. Lots of love ❤
@@simplegermanyincase it's enough for recognition, do you think I should worry about collecting points further to be able to apply for the opportunity card and get it successfully? Really looking forward to your precious response 😊 thanks in advance ❤
Thank you for the detailed info. Does one must have a professional qualification AND work experience? Is a professional qualification alone enough if you can get sufficient points to qualify?
In the video there is no information about what Fully Qualified Degree means. But in the simple germany website it is mentioned that if you get diploma comparability certificate from the ZAB (or maybe other organization) you degree counts as fully recognized, did understood it correctly?
Hi! Thank you for this very helpful and informative video! I’d like to understand better then language requirement for German language, I studied up to A1 at Goethe institute in my country. Do I need to make the language exam from there? Or would it be enough with the A1 certificate after I finished the course?
Thanks to you, I feel very prepared to move to Germany this September. :-) Dankeschön~ Edit: I used the calculator, which showed I got 6 points, so I'm confident in my chances.
Hi Jen and Yvonne, new questions popped up in my mind. When applying for a visa I guess we need to provide the town/city name that we will be while looking for a job. AFAIK embassy then sends visa application documents to the foreign office of that city. My question is, if one finds a job outside of that city or even outside of that state will it be approved? There might be some kind of restrictions regarding finding a job in a different state.
Hello, excellent narration :) About the Financial means - is the restaurant part time job contract acceptable? If so, what documents need to be submitted and any specific format, any idea? Could you please clarify?
Informative video, My university and bachelors program is certified H+ at anabin‘s database. 3:40 Do we have to get the equivalence certificate from ZAB or from specific state’s LASUB (Landes Amt Schule und Bildung) ? Or do we have to get it from both ?
@@simplegermany I have taken screenshot of my 4 years engineering degree from Indian University, it's h+ and A4 , is this enough to take the first path of full recognition to get the visa? Or do I need to work towards the point system? Please clarify.. your response is highly appreciated ❤
Can you clarify where it mentions that the university degree we have, has to match the work we are seeking as a base requirement? I spoke with an immigration attorney about the blue card and chancenkarte and he said that as long as I have the recognized 4 year degree and work in a field that requires a 4 year degree, they don’t have to match. This contradicts what you are saying so I want to make sure I’m understanding correctly!
For the Blue Card it states it on this government website: www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/eu-blue-card For the Chancenkarte the draft bill on page 32: dserver.bundestag.de/btd/20/065/2006500.pdf
@@simplegermanythank you very much! This makes me want to reconsider the legal counsel I found 😅 do you have resources you recommend for immigration counsel?
Please please advise me, my university is H+ and my degree is “Entspricht”. So that means I should be fully recognized…right? My question is Do I still have to meet the A1 German or B2 English and proof of funds conditions??? Please respond. Thanks a million for the informative video.
As an EU national, I feel it every day can that Germany sincerely welcomes the foreigners who will learn the language, commit to the country and eventually become German.
Hello, vielen Dank for this great video! I am very grateful fot this great infos but I am kinda confused about something here. So, in the beginning of the video you guys said if we have a "fully recognized degree" then we can simply move on to collecting points, but at the part of the differences with the Job Seeker Visa part you stated that we also need to have a 2 years experience along with the degree. I do have a fully recognized degree and A1 German as well as B2 English level. Do I still need a 2 years experience to collect points or am I already ok to apply?
Thank you so much for this video!! It give me so much hope! I'm a Dentist and I really want to move to Germany but I'm till figuring out how to do it. But I have a question regarding the Proof of Funds, I have a remote job, I work for a Dental Insurance Company, and it's a part time job, can I proof my funds with this part time job wich is online? or it has to be a work from Germany? I don't know if my question makes sense. I hope you guys can help me!
Not really sure, how accepted that will be. You need to ask your local embassy. As a dentist you will also need to have a license to practice. This website has more information: www.anerkennung-in-deutschland.de/html/en/getting-recognition.php. Best of luck for finding a way 😊
I have six years of work experience in web development and have completed a master's degree in the same field. Is it mandatory to submit a language certificate for the Chancenkarte?
Thank you for this video! Possibly a silly question but, as a native English speaker - do you think I'd still be required to provide official evidence of my English speaking ability?
Thank you for such an informative video! One question: does having a "statement of comparability" counts as being 'fully recognized' or 'partially recognized' ? i.e does it allow me to skip the point system?
Hi Jen and Yvonne! Just realised one thing that you have mentioned in the video might be controversial. If the degree is recognised by the German government so we are directly eligible for the chansenkarte. However, when you compare opportunity card and jobseeker visa at the end of the video, you have mentioned that we need minimum of 2years experience. Just wanted to double check if that’s the case or am I missing something?
I have a doubt, Let's say I have IELTS academic certificate with me already. Will that be considered for English proficiency or I need to get IELTS - General Training certificate for Chancenkart ? Kindly let me know if anyone knows the answer

Generally or as part of a trial work in a company?
Yes! I was also on a job seeker's visa and was told I could work a mini-job.
Interesting. The resources say you can only work those 10 hours as part of a trial period for a full-time employment.
Nice info. My question is which IELTS test option is most suitable for the opportunity card?
Any official test certificate should suffice.
Your video is still the best I have seen on Chancenkarte.
Though, still am not clear after reading all comments and videos that
1) If my uni and degree is in Anabin database, then I am fully recognised.
Thank you for the explanation. Is it difficult to find an apartment without a work contract?
It depends on where you are looking and what financial securities you can show.
Great video!! Thanks a lot for that. I have a question: what source confirmed that the part-time employment can be any job even if not in your education area? I haven't seen it clearly confirmed on the sites I read. You're actually the first source I see that explains that.
It serves as a means of finance and not as a job that get you a work permit. Chancenkarte.com is launching a job portal for the part time jobs soon.
You need to check with your Ausländerbehörde.
Is there a points deduction for age? I am an American in my mid-forties, and I often find that many countries simply want younger people in this situation. It can be frustrating as middle -aged people have lots of skills and experience to bring. Great channel and information! 👏Cheers from the U.S.!
No deduction, but you will have to show more financial stability as you have less time to build pension savings.
@@simplegermany thank you for the reply!
Thank you for this informative video
We talk about it here: ruclips.net/video/U5tt8rklHww/видео.html&si=wVSkz9XoqGVRz6P2
Yes, like we say in the video, you will need to apply for a regular work permit 😊
Thank you for this video! 2 questions:
1- If both my university and degree are listed as recognized in the Anabin database, I don't have to go through with this recognition process that you mentioned could take months or a year, correct?
I haven't been able to find some details on the Chancenkarte so I was wondering whether you've come across it:
1. yes, it should.
2. we don't know
3. in our experience yes
@@simplegermany Thanks a lot :)
@@simplegermany Hi there, Great explanation. Just have one question re. the 3rd point. My degree is in a similar situation in terms of Anabin database. So the question is attaching a screenshot of it while applying for the opportunity would be enough, right? No recognition required?
Excelente Video! Muchas gracias por la informacion
Thank you for the video, so helpful! Is there info on family members? I know previous job seeker would require reunification, which mean my fam would have to wait for me until i found a job. Does chancenkarte allow me to go with them even for the job search portion? Thank you again!
No we believe it will be the same, you need a job for family reunification.
@@simplegermanyah i see, thank you!
Can a person, who couldn’t find a job on the former job-seeking visa, also get a Chancenkarte as a second chance? 😄
You can wait 6 months and reapply for job search visa. I had one and found a job in Germany and now i coach people occasionally to so the same (within the same program that brought me to germany)
What certificates do you posses and in what field? (University degree? Bachelor? Masters? Engineering?)
Hi , i have a university degree but my degree is not recognised ,
If my university and programme are in the ANABIN database do I just need to print that out and my degree is considered recognised? Seems really easy.😅
Thanks for the answer!
Pls about the language requirements can one use Ielts for UKVI to make the application?
sehr informativ
I love this video. Thanks a lot ❤
should my IELTS certificate be less than 2 years when issued?
Thanks for an amazing video.
Can I get a clarification of one thing?
When I have a fully recognized university degree but the degree is not related to my work (IT), Can I go with the path 1?
I was wondering since I have never seen it being specified as such.
For the Chancenkarte we believe that should do. The work needs to be related if the degree is not fully comparable.
This video is great and really helpful. Thanks for your efforts 💪
I have a question, when we got job offer, do we still need company sponsor to convert Work Visa or EU Blue card with this Visa?
As far as we're aware, you don't need a company sponsorship, just a job contract.
Thank you for making this video! Does it mean if I got my degree in Germany I can apply for the Chancekarte directly? (Does a degree in Germany can be considered fully recognized by the German government automatically or I still need to do something with it first?)
If it is a degree from a recognized German university yes it is fully recognized and you should be able to apply!
@@simplegermany thanks! I have watched the video. My question is if Ana-bin databases recognition counts as “fully recognised” (the first way)?
Thank you for the in-depth information. I have a bachelor's degree from a German university. Do I automatically qualify for the Chancenkarte?
yes.
Hi
Firstly great video :)
My university degree is listed as H+ on the Anabin website, and my degree is equivalent to German standards.
The Chancenkarte is designed to be applied to from abroad. Not sure where you are currently based.
Please use the points calculator in the description to find out for yourself.
Hi, thank you for the information about the Chancenkarte. I'm from the Philippines, I'm just curious-if I pursue a degree in a distance learning (online) from a German university recognized by the German government, would I be eligible for the Opportunity Card automatically? Hope to hear from you. Cheers!
Vielen dank❤
As long as your professional qualification is recognized in Germany. You can use the points calculator in the description to check your case.
In the video there is no information about what Fully Qualified Degree means. But in the simple germany website it is mentioned that if you get diploma comparability certificate from the ZAB (or maybe other organization) you degree counts as fully recognized, did understood it correctly?
Yes, you did! And we will release a video on this topic soon 😊
Hi! Thank you for this very helpful and informative video! I’d like to understand better then language requirement for German language, I studied up to A1 at Goethe institute in my country. Do I need to make the language exam from there? Or would it be enough with the A1 certificate after I finished the course?
That depends on your case worker but usually they want to see certificates.
Thanks to you, I feel very prepared to move to Germany this September. :-)
Dankeschön~
Edit: I used the calculator, which showed I got 6 points, so I'm confident in my chances.
Hi Jen and Yvonne,
new questions popped up in my mind.
A general work visa for Germany is not restricted to a city but valid in all of Germany.
Hello, excellent narration :) About the Financial means - is the restaurant part time job contract acceptable? If so, what documents need to be submitted and any specific format, any idea? Could you please clarify?
A work contract is a good start 😉
@@simplegermany Sure 😊
Informative video,
My university and bachelors program is certified H+ at anabin‘s database.
3:40 Do we have to get the equivalence certificate from ZAB or from specific state’s LASUB (Landes Amt Schule und Bildung) ?
Or do we have to get it from both ?
That depends on what your embassy requires. Screenshots of the Anabin Database my be enough.
@@simplegermany I have taken screenshot of my 4 years engineering degree from Indian University, it's h+ and A4 , is this enough to take the first path of full recognition to get the visa? Or do I need to work towards the point system? Please clarify.. your response is highly appreciated ❤
Hi dear, Can you please explain in detail: how to get foreign qualifications fully recognized by German government (Path 1)?
We will do a video on this in the future 😊
@@simplegermany Thank you so much Looking forward 🤩
Please do a video on getting qualification recognized
Can you clarify where it mentions that the university degree we have, has to match the work we are seeking as a base requirement?
I spoke with an immigration attorney about the blue card and chancenkarte and he said that as long as I have the recognized 4 year degree and work in a field that requires a 4 year degree, they don’t have to match. This contradicts what you are saying so I want to make sure I’m understanding correctly!
For the Blue Card it states it on this government website: www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/eu-blue-card
For the Chancenkarte the draft bill on page 32: dserver.bundestag.de/btd/20/065/2006500.pdf
Yes the basic requirements need to be met by everyone.
What if the degree is fully recognised what documents are required?
Clear information, very insightful and helpful, thank you
how do we know if its educational qualification is partially/fully recognised ?
By watching this video about recognition and following the steps we mention: ruclips.net/video/vG-TWow4Igg/видео.htmlsi=0-y3zXCP7cf5FGuV 😊
It makes sense, but we can't guarantee it to you. Only your responsible mission who will handle your visa will. So reach out to them 😊
Not really sure, how accepted that will be.
As long as you are not in a regulated profession it should count as fully recognized if it’s a positive certificate.
The 2 years work experience apply if your degree is not fully recognized.
Ohh I see. Thanks for the response!
Best and great explanation
I have qualifications are recognized but yet I'm not employed so can i still apply for the Chancenkarte?
I have a doubt, Let's say I have IELTS academic certificate with me already. Will that be considered for English proficiency or I need to get IELTS - General Training certificate for Chancenkart ?
Kindly let me know if anyone knows the answer
