Unfortunately, these beautiful aircraft have no ejection seat... 😬
Magnificent footage, and the high polishing of the aircraft in the beautiful Finish landscape adds to the effect. They actually look chromed! France built several nice aircraft between the fifties and seventies, and the Fouga Magister is one of them.

Do they keep the CM-170 in active service in the Finnish Air Force, or do they just keep a pair or so airworthy for historical reasons?

@@duartesimoes508 Finnish Air Force is high quality and with all respect to Fouga Magister, they have no use for so old aircraft that doesn't have an ejection seat or anything modern otherwise. From fighter jets the oldest ones used in service are Hawks, the main jet is Hornet and the F-35 Lightning is the new one that they will have added soon to their aircraft. However there's surely a lot of old aircraft stored across the country that could be used if needed but they are not included in any use of the Air Force and probably not gonna be needed. For example about Fouga Magister, Finland had 18 Magisters as training jets in the late 50s to 80s, these 2 are all ready in flight condition and there are couple more left that are stored in good condition, however not owned by Air Force. Finland had quite many bad accidents with it but it has a legendary status for some.
In fact, inside Finland there are about 25 ex-military jet planes still in fly condition or close to it, stored with new owners or museums. Including some of the first fighter jets and training jets ever made, and some bit more modern MiG's, Draken's and others that would still be quite useful in many of the more modest Air forces in the world. With the high level of flying enthusiasm in Finland, I think there could actually be a 100 aircraft fleet gathered from all ex-military or suitable museum planes or restored private planes. This would equal an average country's Air Force
