Where is the love for Scooby Do Huh like wha da #@$& And if your not into Scooby which makes you an absolute nerd in my book than what about Sgt Stubby the most decorated K9 ever and the reason the Hoyas mascot is a bulldog
I respect the hell out of anyone like Mr. Ritland who trains his dogs to the level he does, but also obviously cares about them. I've seen so many highly trained dogs that are treated just as tools and nothing else. My dogs are family and I can't imagine having one and looking at it as nothing else but another tool issued to you on your duty belt. It breaks my heart when I see that.
It's worthy to note the dogs in John Wick 3 fight scenes were trained to playfully nip the actors for the fight compared to the full on bites of actual army and police dogs. You can't train a dog to fake kill a man, you can however train a dog to play for a camera and touch up the rest in post. It's amazing how adaptable dogs can be with the right mix of genetics and training as doggy spiderman clearly showed us.
One of the best "react to" videos y'all have done to date. VERY informative stuff, lotta insights on doggo stuffs I didn't know about, and still entertaining. Kudos!
Definitely need more veterans react to doggo vids. I'm a great dane kind of guy. Wife got our first one when I was still downrange. (My siberian husky of 14 years passed while I was gone.) Since then I've developed dane brain. Just love the breed. My current one is male, 38" at the shoulder and 178 lbs. His name is General. (I didn't name him. We adopted him 5 years ago and he was already named that. Can't catch a break. Retire from the Army, think I'm getting away from officers, nope. Damn dog outranks me. Wtf?)
As a dog lover I really enjoyed this episode. Dogs are amazing and can be taught so many things that can help us as humans. If I were to live my life again I’d join the army and be a dog handler for sure.
I’d love to see a “Movie Gun Mistakes” video with Brandon Herrera and Mat Best. Watch a bunch of movies that got their guns/gun handling COMPLETELY wrong.
Mike drop is one of my favorite podcasts. Sorry fellas. I have a Mali and a DDR Gsd, both awesome dogs. (Also a family to protect) every single day I try to sneak into my house after work. Literally silent. No audible (to me) noises and I haven't EVER made it more than 2 feet inside the door without them charging around the corner ready for business. The abilities of those breeds is insane. They both are sweet girls, 65lbs and 85lbs, but they FUCK you up even just playing around. Constantly covered in cuts and lacerations. Can't imagine what a trained working dog could do when they are TRYING to take your leg off🤣 also, bite sleeves still hurt when you have a block headed gsd chomping down folks. That'd be a tough job. Thanks BRC crew and Mike for all your content. Keep it up
The car was a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang. The Eleanor was a 1967 Shelby GT500. And between the two, I'd take the '69 Boss everyday and twice on Sunday. Just my 2 cents.
Hey now I had a Lab that both dad and grandpa won westminster. Mom and grandma were champion bird dogs. She was my baby. Also my first large purchase as a 14 year old.
Mike Ritland is a fricken legend and I have learned so much from just listening to him speak and applied it to being a dog handler. Glad Black Rifle Coffee did a K9 react👌🏼
Great video as always guys. For the next veterans react you guys should show clips from Flight of the Intruder. Watched it many times growing up and would love to get your take on it.
5:20 this is a really good point. i've worked with some military dogs that have outrageous amounts of energy and putting them in your lap would he a horrible idea. you don't want those caliber of dogs to get froggy on you because you are rolling on the ground or pulling them into your lap
Rin Tin Tin was the Boss, and I believe the most successful movie dog of all time. He was a legit movie star, and the original dog was in a lot of movies and was also a military K-9
Know an MWD handler. In Khandahar, a SEAL team humped in from beyond, with a dog. So my buddy, who was the NCOIC of the K-9 unit, offered use of his kennel for the dog. The SEAL handler agreed. So my buddy asked if he should feed and water the dog. The handler told him in no uncertain terms, do NOT open that gate. That dog will KILL you. Military Working Dogs (MWD) are trained in two categories; there are drug detection dogs, and explosive detecting dogs. Apparently, the SEAL's employ "War" dogs. Reference the K-9 used in the raid that killed ISIS leader al-Baghdadi. SEAL dogs aren't your average Belgian Malinois used as bomb detectors. Therefore, I must assume that ALL SOF dogs are special (as if the average MWD isn't already).
Question for Mike, would you consider a blue heeler trainable for actually attacking mine is 3yrs old with a high prey drive. Obviously past the week old but was curious if you’d consider it a prime candidate. I’m asking because he’s currently my PSD, but has defended me from a drunk neighbor (who has now moved) who decided to step on my property, then tried to start a fight by tackling me to the ground my dog took a hold of his calf making him let go of me was able to call my dog off. He called the police and got arrested for Public intoxication, and disorderly conduct and or disturbing the peace. I didn’t press any charges because I wasn’t hurt, he tried to blame my dog for attacking him luckily my other neighbor who saw it said he was defending me after the guy tackled me and nothing came of it. He got a no contact order from the judge and he moved a week or two later.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new movie Dog with Channing Tatum, but I don't know what to expect, I hope it's not too corny. Loved this video though
Is there any way we can have a new law put in place for armed forces that says if you do not have a beard or moustache one you make slightly less money and may not use anything larger than 9mm
My Grandfather and Uncles owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks all their lives. Beautiful dogs with a decent temperament unless of course you start screwing around with their owner.
Best dog movie of all time: GO!
Lassie I'd say Balto but I had a dog named Lassie so...
My Dog Skip, maybe? That’s a hard one though.
Homeward bound

Former Military Police Sergeant here. Love the vid guys. Thanks for this one. Miss the dogs best back up we we could ever call in!
Cool to see Mike Ritland on the show, I’ve read his book “Navy Seal Dogs” about a half a dozen times!
Be sure to check out his Podcast Mike Drop.

What's amazing is curtain scenes you can see the tail just wagging
Anyone who trains dogs, and can give them love and respect and never abuse them is a true hero.
Mike is one impressive and well spoken dude. You can hear his passion come through with every word. Really enjoyed this one. Thank you
I have been having a really rough time lately and REALLY needed this. Thank you guys so much.
Dogs are always the answer.
@Daniel Hollaway word playa! Dogs are awesome and people tend to suck.

I seen that also it was a Boss (hollywooded) and not a Shelby. the scoop location was a key ID.
Awesome video - never would have guessed there were that many dogs involved in playing the same character in a movie but makes complete sense
Love the dog video. Could watch them for hours.
Loved the video. Saw a lot of dogs that I believe are smarter than some of the guys I served with in the military.
Best episode yet. Mike ritland is the true dog whisperer. 🫡

Gotta love it. Thx!
Thank you guys. We got to put down our Maltese male tomorrow he's 18 years old . I'm going to look for a bigger dog to take his place.
MORE COP MOVIES!!! Gotta do the rest of the Lethal Weapon movies, End of Watch, Den of Thieves, and Dirty Harry.
Mans Best Friend is the greatest animal movie ever made!
Hell yeah! Finally we get Ritland on the show! Definitely my favorite of the military podcasts!
Great video. I am going to have to get my Great Pyrenees to watch it and see if he can learn something.

Darpa and Boston..... that should be a intriguing video
Please have Mike and Dan on again. More dog videos would be great, but also the talked about DARPA and Boston Dynamics vids. 😄

Can we get a video on Dan talking about what they do in china with monkeys and faces and how that could lead to his 18 inch giraffe 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, the Marine Corps is a department of the Navy. The Men's Department.
Dakota was mentioned. I assume he's talking about Dakota Meyer. Would be cool to get him and Kyle Carpenter to do some videos they enjoy.
