Hey Andrew. A very enjoyable 10 minutes. You can only work with what you have got. Still pulled some great shots out of the trip. At least it shows that photography is conditional and dependent on weather a lot of the time. Have you had snow up your way this week?. Glad to see the 17-40 lens being used. I think it is very under rated! My Canon 24-105 packed up. Given that I have the Canon70-200 f4 L, I was thinking about getting a Canon 24-70 f4 IS L to go with it. Having those two and my 17-40 f4, it would cover all the main focal lengths that I like to use. Have you ever used the 24-70 f4 ? Looking forward to watching your up coming wintery videos. 😁
@@antonyhalls5322 Hi Antony. No snow but it's been very cold. Yes I was supprised using the 17-40mm but it was the only was to get the tree against the sky. Did the aperture on the 24-105mm go. I had to have mine repaired years ago. Never used the 24-70mm but I heard it's has a good reputation. Dreaming of a white christmas 🌨️🥶🎅
@@andrewfindlayphoto Hi Andrew. The optics themselves went wrong. It was not worth getting it repaired. I hope to get the 24-70 just to have a change. Will let you know if I get one and how it performs. Take care. 😊
I've just donned my anorak so that I can tell you that the aircraft is not a Hercules but an Airbus A400M Atlas. The RAF have replaced all of their Fat Alberts with these more modern aircraft. Anorak now back in the wardrobe😝. Another very enjoyable glimpse into your travels with a camera around the top end of England!
Great video and images (apart from the ai sky replacement.. ban for that 🤣) I know you're normally in & around the Lakes and rightfully so but you can't beat a bit of Yorkshireness, for some reason I can't I find a Yorkshire pudding emoji 😮😂
@@76ad Ai Sky replacement beyond the pale 🤣. It might have been Cumbria or Northumberland. It was so close to the border I can't remember. No one was trying to get across for a 'wetter life'(higher rainfall) . Thanks for the great comment. 🙂
@andrewfindlayphoto As soon as I hit the reply button I remembered my county has shrunk a little over the years but it was Lancashire that "stole" some of it and not Cumbria or Northumberland... 🤣 I only recently found out that Ribblehead Viaduct has a Lancashire post code too and that Middlesbrough is in some kind of limbo stuck between the North Yorkshire Moors border and Tyne & Wear 🤯 Back to geography class for me, I hear they have a dunce hat with my initials on it 🥳
Thanks Andrew another great video. All the scenery you will ever need is between Hallbankgate and Alston!
@@Franklin-vx6wk It's a forgotten treasure 🤔

@@stevesparkesPhotography Thanks for watching and the correction. I'll correct my memory banks with this useful info 👍🤔✈️😆
The drive up looked more promising.
