I know I'm around 2 years late, but that was a very nice playthrough. Really displays lots of the game's features, and the gameflow.. and let's not forget Luke who in my opinion has made some very crucial dicerolls to secrure the victory.
This was an amazing series from the introduction all the way through the board game play through. What an awesome victory too. It had me on the edge of my seat. I will be playing Zombicide the first time with my church gaming group and this really helped me familiarize myself with the game. We will probably pick an easier mission though. :+> Thanks for taking the time to do this. You are a terrific host. Kudos to Luke who used the FORCE to get some critical die rolls. Plus the gallery of participants online who had some truly inspired game suggestions for strategy and tactics to prevail. This was a real close one but a noble victory.

I watched all 9 videos while waiting for zombicide to arrive in the mail. Breezed through the rulebook and was ready to play instantly. Quality video, great instructions, and even your mistakes turned out helpful. Also, great speaking voice, it's easy to listen to you teach. Thank you so much for this upload. I sit here on a cloudy Saturday afternoon watching through the entire playthrough and it's convinced me this is the game to introduce to my friend's relatively new game nights. We've only so far had experience with Munchkin, so a game that relies on us banding together rather than stabbing each other in the back will be a nice counter-balance to those evenings where at least one person leaves feeling a little cheated and grumpy as a result. I loved this play-through; At the end Ned is covering the rear of the group, Amy/Luke is taking out the bulk of the zombies by swinging her machete perfectly with 6's, and Josh, after getting wounded and hearing his best friend Doug yell as he gets torn apart right after his epic stand, busts open the door to the last building, rushes in dodging zombies left and right until he reaches the final objective which, i guess, makes all the zombies heads explode! Awesome game, getting mine soon and can't wait. Loved the game-play and Luke's rolls and whomever came up with the idea to slip Josh in there like a boss, i didn't think of that at that moment and it was awesome. When I saw Wanda and Rick die needlessly at the beginning I started having doubts but I guess they were necessary sacrifices. Just had a though, I think one of my house rules will make the dead players come back as walkers one turn later or something like that. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!

This was my favorite play through so far! It was so much fun to watch ( I actually watched it twice). I would love to see you do a similar live play-through of Ambush. Also, cheers to Luke! Dice rolling is my bane...they always betray me. You should create a set of Lucky Luke blessed custom dice and give them away as perk!
I'm incredibly late to the party, but I loved it! My only beef was the lack of spawning in the single room objective at the top left where josh/amy/ned were hanging out before the end. Great series, and keep Luke around for any high pressure rolling situations.
I jumped directly to this series because I wanted to be sure that I got all the rules right about Zombicide and this was very helpful with the zombie-split rule and the dual weapon shooting rule :D Looking forward for another twitch live play, watching it was a lot of fun (and I think we can assume that form now on Doug last name should be Walters :D) but I wish I had partecipated that live!
Rodney, I would LOVE to watch you play Ambush! solo for a few missions. You could use them as "filler" episodes when you can't get everyone around the table. And the fact that the characters persist from mission to mission would be incredibly engaging for the audience! You could even name the characters after viewers (Captain Cola reporting for duty) and make it even more engaging for us. I never heard of ambush! until I saw the last filler video, and now I am on the look out for it!
Very nice play through. I am going to be playing zombicide for the first time this weekend with my pathfinder group and this has given me a pretty good idea on how the gameplay goes. now going to check out your black plague video since that is the version of zombicide I was told we would be playing.

When you were describing how zombies spawn in the first video, I had a hard time imagining any chance of victory, but you pulled it out. I'm thinking that a noise making sacrifice just might be a requirement for winning this scenario.

Sorry, I commented on the wrong video last night. This is the video where that happened with Doug being killed. It happened beginning at 8:00. I was thinking they should have just killed him and then not moved because it would have taken their full activation to end Doug. I know ultimately it made no difference in the game, but I was curious.
Hey, I just looked some things up and discovered you played it right and why. I really prefer the Black Plague rules so much when it comes to wounds. You get 3 wounds, and nothing get stolen.

Wow I didn't think you'd win that...I think in these types of games where spawning vs. objects your best best is to always move, don't stand still...kite spawns with a few models while you hammer objects. This only works when objects need to be collected, taking object and holding and or bringing objects else where are different stories.
Question: if you run out of walkers, the walkers that currently are on the board gets an extra activation? If there are no walkers on the board, or you kill them, what happens then? (im assuming dead walkers are out of the game, and can not be spawned again?)
Dead walkers are not out of the game, they go back into the pool to be spawned again. So as long as you are killing enough of them, you won't run out of them to spawn, preventing the extra activation.

limogesalexandre This is impossible to say. It's really going to depend on the child, their comprehension levels, etc. I'd also say the content would need to be assessed for whether or not you'd think it was appropriate for a 6 year old.
I have a few questions about done rule with ranged weapons. if I'm shooting a ranged weapon like a shotgun or submachine guns that can fire with in the same room will they still hit Survivor's first because they're in the same room or is that only with targets that are in different zones
I would also love to see another playthrough on a larger map with pimp mobiles and cop cars to help me explain more complex rules scenarios and playing dynamics. I am the only one so far that has a good understanding of the game and will be teaching it to 10 other people
Once we cover a game, we don't go back to cover it again ( too many different games we want to share), but hopefully with this as a base, you'll find those additional rules aren't too hard to pick up from the rule book. All the best!
Unfortunately this part went totally wrong. You forgot to add all 4 noises from Ned shooting his shotgun at the corner up top...thus making his zone 5 noises, 1 more than Doug down there. All those zombies at the bottom would run to Ned...not Doug. He wouldn't have died and he could reach the final objective via south door. You always have to put the noises, after each shot!! Not at the end of the shots, so you won't forget them. It's essential to not ruin the play.
Yes, there were definitely some things forgotten during this live play, which is unfortunate! Interacting with stream, Luke, the app and the game itself adds a couple layers of complication (which is why I don't usually do my game plays this way :) ). Not an excuse, but a bit of an explanation for why some things got missed. I definitely don't recommend this video for a strict learning of the rules, but we do have a full rules video for that instead: ruclips.net/video/voQC7HVZ5uw/видео.html

Sorry, I commented on the wrong video last night. This is the video where that happened with Doug being killed. It happened beginning at 8:00. I was thinking they should have just killed him and then not moved because it would have taken their full activation to end Doug. I know ultimately it made no difference in the game, but I was curious.
Hey, I just looked some things up and discovered you played it right and why. I really prefer the Black Plague rules so much when it comes to wounds. You get 3 wounds, and nothing get stolen.

Wow I didn't think you'd win that...I think in these types of games where spawning vs. objects your best best is to always move, don't stand still...kite spawns with a few models while you hammer objects. This only works when objects need to be collected, taking object and holding and or bringing objects else where are different stories.
Yeah, I didn't think we would win either, but it was helpful having the united power of the internet with us!

Question: if you run out of walkers, the walkers that currently are on the board gets an extra activation?
If there are no walkers on the board, or you kill them, what happens then? (im assuming dead walkers are out of the game, and can not be spawned again?)
Dead walkers are not out of the game, they go back into the pool to be spawned again. So as long as you are killing enough of them, you won't run out of them to spawn, preventing the extra activation.

limogesalexandre This is impossible to say. It's really going to depend on the child, their comprehension levels, etc. I'd also say the content would need to be assessed for whether or not you'd think it was appropriate for a 6 year old.

I have a few questions about done rule with ranged weapons. if I'm shooting a ranged weapon like a shotgun or submachine guns that can fire with in the same room will they still hit Survivor's first because they're in the same room or is that only with targets that are in different zones
I would also love to see another playthrough on a larger map with pimp mobiles and cop cars to help me explain more complex rules scenarios and playing dynamics. I am the only one so far that has a good understanding of the game and will be teaching it to 10 other people
Ranged is based on the weapon type. So, because those are ranged weapons, you follow the ranged rules for them (even in the same space).
Once we cover a game, we don't go back to cover it again ( too many different games we want to share), but hopefully with this as a base, you'll find those additional rules aren't too hard to pick up from the rule book. All the best!

To make this fair, if Luke roles the character should have to use a pan. Even then, Amy would have been fine.
Unfortunately this part went totally wrong. You forgot to add all 4 noises from Ned shooting his shotgun at the corner up top...thus making his zone 5 noises, 1 more than Doug down there. All those zombies at the bottom would run to Ned...not Doug. He wouldn't have died and he could reach the final objective via south door. You always have to put the noises, after each shot!! Not at the end of the shots, so you won't forget them. It's essential to not ruin the play.
Yes, there were definitely some things forgotten during this live play, which is unfortunate! Interacting with stream, Luke, the app and the game itself adds a couple layers of complication (which is why I don't usually do my game plays this way :) ). Not an excuse, but a bit of an explanation for why some things got missed.
