- Ok, since I have a face for radio and a voice for silent movies, I made this video with the words scrolling. Sorry! I was able to meet up with a rep from Tripltek and we discussed what had happened to my tablet when it melted on me...
Just bought a Tripltek today. This video helped me make that decision.
Tripltek has always responded to any question or problem with the utmost seriousness and speed, it is a pleasure that companies like this exist, I hope they continue along the same lines and never change their wonderful after-sales service, five stars for Tripltek Miami and all its staff.
Glad you got to the bottom of what caused the issue, and thanks for sharing so others can avoid making the same mistake
That's helpful to know! Sounds like they've taken care of you. They helped me as well which was very nice for something different.
Great Job TriplTex! Good video. I wont make this mistake now,
Thank you very much for sharing it, I also have a Tripltek 8¨ and now I will be careful not to make this mistake, thank you very much from Madrid mate.
Glad you had a good outcome to this unfortunate episode. Like yourself and others, I've had some really good customer service from Tripltek. They even sent me a file so that I could get a mount 3D printed as the postal costs to get a Tripltek one delivered to the UK were astronomical!
I just ordered an aluminum mount for it. Can't wait to see how it works.
Thank you for your post..This will keep us from a lot of headaches..
Thanks for sharing!!!❤
Great video! Thank you
Sorry for your loss.
Thanks for sharing
Yikes! An unplanned Thermal Event. Nasty
That is a fantastic outcome, Tripletek really showed character and an upstanding nature. Not many companies would have supplied you with a brand-new item after discovering their product was not at fault. As others have asked, will Tripletek publish the maximum penetration depth of the four threaded screw holes, or the supplied screws for the hand strap at the maximum already?
They said the screw holes are 3mm deep
I heard about this on Drone Brews Live with Ken. That’s awesome customer service 👍🏼
Which episode?

I am expecting my Tripltek 8 tomorrow to use with my Dji mini 2. Did you put a SIM card in yours? I wonder if it can double as a phone. I know it's big and heavy but so what. With wireless earbuds it doesn't matter. What do you think?
so.. they made a tablet, that is primarily used by drone users (nobody else is crazy enough to buy this tab anyway for that kind of money) and they would not think, anybody will use that holes for tablet holder, lol? and what's the difference using holes for hand strap or any other gizmo, it should withstand both, specially with its "heavy-duty" design etc. this is clearly design flaw, imo and it will probably happen again (if not already).
Good to know the reason , but they market this as a military tough tablet . How could they have such a weak design floor . Yes its partly your fault but if their is no case behind those screw inserts or no real space this could happen over time with the stock hand strap dropping it over and over would push the insert into the battery it seems . I hope you email them about this issues so that they know .
when I 1st saw your video I thought to myself, say, what's that green thing, did he make something and then screw the wrong length screws too far into the tablet.. but then I said to myself.. that would pretty careless.. if he's clever enough to design the plastic holder he's got to be clever enough to know not to thread screws in any farther than the stock screws go in.. but I guess you did just that.. honestly your lucky they are giving you another tablet.. it's 100% your fault brother..
I agree, I am very lucky. I have a horrible habit of trying to tighten things and end I snapping stuff. This time, I was very careful not to over tighten. I also was not aware that there was nothing to stop the screw from going to far into the tablet. They had told me that might be one of the design changes they need to make to prevent this in the future.
Thank goodness for good customer service. Mistakes happen, glad they took good care of you.
Did Tripltek publish a maximum penetration depth for these 4 screws?
Nothing official that I found, but from my conversation with one of their employees I found out that the hole is only 3mm deep and it has nothing but the battery behind it to stop the screw from going to deep. Feel free to reach out to them. They have awesome customer service, and they are really open to answering your questions.
@@droneverse7970 Thanks for the follow up! Measured my screw penetration and it’s.047 (1.194 mm) into the tablet at that point.
Ohh man,,, 5hink I'll just stick to using my phone...
Yeah sorry to say but screwing into the back of a device that has a battery like that is not advised. Easy for me to say after the fact. The point. To make is that trip, tek is a cool company. Why didn't you speak Instead of scrolling text?
Not real good with making videos yet. Hopefully that changes over time.
